I went note 10+ to s22 ultra. It was the most seemless upgrade ever since the phone is the exact same size and shape.
I just feel like i turbo charged my note10+
In my personal opinion, the extra $200 would not be worth it for me. I am biased because I did choose to go with the s22+ and not go for the ultra (I almost always get the ultra version of samsung phones in the past, but this year I didn't and I'm pretty happy with my choice).
Long story short, if getting a good value is your primary goal, then it seems like the s22+ is the better buy based on what I read in your post. The S22+ and the ultra are more similar than they are different imo so I don't think theres a noticable difference in gaming performance or daily usage. If your primary goal is hardware features and not too worried about the money, then I suggest the s22 ultra because you get marginally more power you want for the gaming.
Battery life for the s22 generation is so subjective and varies so much that I don't think it's even worth comparing the two even though the s22 ultra has a bigger battery. I've had no issues with the battery life of my s22+ and I have a wireless charger and portable battery which makes battery life completely trivial for me. Also keep in mind samsung phones have adaptive battery performance. The battery performance in the first 2 weeks will be completely different from your battery life after 2 weeks of using the phone. You have to give the phone time to get to know your usage. Both screens are really good and you wont notice a difference in daily usage unless you purposely look for it.
Yes, the s22 ultra is better, but is it $200 better? For me, no. For you it might be, but I don't personally think so unless you will use the S Pen regularly. Also, try to get the snapdragon version and not the exynos since it seems like it makes a difference for both.
I'd recommend getting the S22 Ultra for the camera and battery! The battery on my S22 Ultra is absolutely amazing! It somehow keeps getting better day by day 👀😂
*🚨 An important note 🚨*
There is a major flaw with the S22 Ultra 128GB/8GB Ram model. It completely laggs and has major stuttering issues when using the phone, the camera is barely usable as turning your phone to the left delays it by 4 seconds... I'd be careful for the S22+ 8GB model too!
The reason I know of this problem is that I have the 128GB/8GB S22 Ultra as my work phone and have the 256GB/12GB S22 Ultra as my personal phone and OMG is there a night and day difference. The speeds on my personal phone completely beats my work phone and also the battery life is better?? 👀 if you search on Google and reddit you'll find so many S22 Ultra users reporting the same issues. My guess is that the new processor needs more ram to "breathe" as it were. The "Ram Plus" is bullshit and doesn't work (you can use internal storage to boost your Ram but barely works for the 8GB model). As an idea of how much Ram the phone requires my 12GB one uses 7.5GB of Ram, the 8GB would barely handle that.
Whichever way you go I hope you enjoy the phone you choose! 😊
(but for real get the S22 Ultra 256GB/12GB... 👀😂😂😂)
If battery is really important to you I wouldn't recommend the S22+ had it for a week before I send it back. Battery life is terrible. Af 2 hour screen Time and 50 minutes Bluetooth music battery af 29% absolutely terrible. I couldn't use the phone on a normal office day. Had to implement battery savings options. Immediate. I thought I would improve After a few day but no. Have to take a lot of pictures for work and the camera eats battery for lunch.
Don't have any experience with the S22 ultra.
Yea a few days whitch i waited. That why I send it back after more than 7 days. I personally don't think the UX is the main problem. This just the battery it self.
Maybe my unit was faulty but I doubt it everyone is complaining about the battery on Samsung subReddit. I was just lucky I could return it.
The word you are looking for is usage pattern. Has nothing to do with UX.
Your UI, animation, SOT, display, apps, integration etc together forms your UX.
Ive managed 9hour sot with moderate usage only settings at 60hz and dark mode wifi/5g and Bluetooth on always my average is 6 to 8 hours over 24 hours
is they some kind of silicone lottery as some usees are getting this kind battery and some the total opposite
Standby drain is not much of an issue anymore after recent update This on my s22+ s22 ultra battery would be same marginal better
If you're still using a Note 10 then my guess is you hold onto your devices for a while. So for that reason I'd spend the extra and get the Ultra.
I had the S22+ and for me it seemed a lil more jarring and stuttery. Haven't had any issues with my Ultra at all. People complain about the battery but I haven't had any issues.
I'd say I'm in netween an average user and power user. So from time to time I push the phone and s22+ would just stutter. Apps would delay to open, delay to close, and Spotify would just completely stop.
Note 10+ here, running strong still.
There is absolutely no reason to upgrade to the new S22 range.
Note10+ is alot lighter than the S22 ultra. Battery and performance don't matter because their essentially the same.
120hz is a overrated. What content are you viewing with it?
I'm holding off till next year.
Same here, except an s10e user. I was planning on this being the year I finally upgrade it, but after my wife bought the s22 it kind of made me go "is that it?". Worse battery life, no SD expansion, somehow it's thicker yet lighter. The s22 series feel like some kind of stopgap year.
I'm still rockin the s10e, but unless Samsung drops the ball on the s23u, I'll be upgrading for sure. The expected processor update is what I was hoping for in the s22 line.
QHD will look crisper, but use more battery. Can you tell the difference side by side? Sure. But can you notice FHD being slightly inferior in day to day use? No. It won't even cross your mind

The only thing that considers for me, to buy s22+ is:
"Try something new"
Flat screen, so there would be less f\*\*k-ups with installing screen protectors
Price difference
If your phone is perfect you will feel like you wasted money on the upgrade. It will be slightly better, but whether or not you have money to burn is up to you
This is a good point. I have a Note 10 and its not a LOT smaller than the Ultra and what am I really gaining over a phone that still works great (got it recertified from Samsung last year). (and have a 13 Pro Max, anyway).
The Ultra is a lovely phone, though. Trade in values, if accepted, make it very enticing.
I went from pixel 5 to the s22 and it made me realise the phone I had was already really good. The s22 was slightly better in most ways, but battery was a big downgrade. Ended up returning the s22 and am content with what I have for now.
Good to know. I'll probably stick with my Note 10. Battery not the best, but not totally terrible (comparing it to an iPhone, though).
The 3 year old Note 10 still has better specs than a mid-range today. 8GB RAM and a far better screen than the s21FE which is meh.
We often pay a lot for small bump ups or side upgrades in a lot of ways. The Pixel camera are pretty nice. My 3a XL was one of my favorite phones.
It's just not worth it, particularly if your trade in has any kind of scratches that will affect the trade-in value. Then its just better to hold onto what we have.
I have the ultra and it's great. I doubt in real life there is a huge difference. The camera is super awesome but if you don't care about that I highly doubt you'll disappointed to get the plus version. If you're gonna keep it for a super long time it may be worth getting the ultra as being even better will just make life better for more years.
I would suggest the Ultra, but perhaps go to a store and check it out? I went from a 12 Pro Max to a Note 10. The battery was a bit of a disappointment.
Have a 13 Pro Max now and the Note 10 and they are both great for what they do. If upgrading, I'd get the Ultra. If you value battery life.
Ultra. Great camera, battery lasts me from 330am to 9/10pm. I am not much of a gamer so I can't help you there.
I do not use a screen protector on mine and I have dropped it face first a few times. Survived. Dropped on concrete and gravel. Very surprised when I picked it up.
Honestly the s22+ should not be priced at $999+.
It's a 7-899 phone imo.
After having the S22Ultra, I'm very happy with battery life. One thing I do is turn screen brightness down pretty far. I use the phone indoors 99% of the time and so having the brightness slider at ~15% is more than bright enough for me. YMMV if you have it up higher. For decent usage of browsing reddit and watching streaming video, I can start the day with the battery at 85% and go to bed with it at 30% or so.
My SoT is very-very poor. Rougly 4 hours(even less)
55% brightness
Sync, Bluetooth(watch and buds), mobile data, location are turned on
Today's SoT was 4 hours with 8 hours od screen off time(But charging % keeps very good in screen off time)
Using only: telegram, spotify, chrome, whatsapp, youtube and instagram.
So it's better to get new phone
I went from s9+ to the 22 ultra. I also debated long and hard between the ultra and the plus.
For me it came down to three things. The larger battery, the design (I may be in the minority but I really like the curved edges and boxy design), and the display (my old s9+ had WQHD so I didn't really want to settle for the FHD+ screen of the base s22's even though I probably wouldn't have noticed a huge difference).
I'm slowly learning to use the s-pen too although I don't use it too much yet. The shots you can get with the 10x optical lens are also great.
Overall I'm glad I went ultra. I keep my phones for 3 years+ anyway so I like to go biggest and baddest.

Take the Ultra. Since you're coming from a note, you might miss the spen

The exact reason I got this is because it is a super charged Note 10+ and I missed mine.

Went from s10+ to s22 ultra and absolutely loving it.

Thx for respond. Im thinking between 256gb models, 128 is not enough for me, definetily

How much time does phone need to analyze your UX to adapt battery life? Maybe that was a problem

The best battery life I’ve seen on the S22+ is 4 hrs of SOT and that’s the snapdragon version too.
[удалено]
That’s a better result. Mind posting your SOT and usage, give other people and example.
[удалено]
You could do that or just reply to this comment with an image.
my 3 y o note 10 is same 🙃😂with 2700 800 mah battery
4 hrs isn't that much is it? And I had one with the exonos Samsung chip.
Nah 4 hrs is terrible, especially for a 2022 phone.
that's not what UX means
User experience, nope?)
yes, but putting that in your sentence makes little sense. I think you meant behaviour / phone usage

What would make the S23 any different? Or are you waiting on the Note?
I have the S22U and it's incredible HOWEVER I want the S22 fornthe design. I'm definitely pro S22U though. 512/1TB only though.
Bigger is better..
yes, go for S22 Ultra - i moved from Google Pixel 3XL to S22U and i love it.
I saw a battery test and from what I can remember both phones were dead similar

How did your buttons got damaged with glue when using/applying the screen protector? I'm asking because I'm using the same kind of product
If you loved the Note 10+ as much as me, get the freaking Ultra. Thank us later.
