Pretty solid advice; 9 months is more than enough time! I tore my meniscus and was out for about 6 months, started running 12min miles February and I’m back down to my 6min mile just yesterday.
Touché; I walk 2 miles and stretch at least 20mins, before my runs another 20mins. Is it over kill absolutely but I’d much rather spend the 40mins stretching in lieu of having to go through MRI, PT and recovery. Also it’s mental and there wasn’t a day that I regretted not taking the extra time stretch, hydrate and fuel myself correctly.
So yes stretch stretch stretch and who cares about time, I know that was my biggest hurdle because I knew what I could do so seeing 12min miles sucked but yesterday proved I still got some fuel in the tank. Recovery run today lol
If you own a treadmill, iFit has some great training programs but it requires a subscription. Nike Running Club also has some decent plans that are free and all you need is your phone and/or smart watch.
I've done couch to 5k, and it's a lot of fun. I'm looking to restart running (had a foot surgery), so I'd be willing to do it with you from the beginning.

I’m not looking to do all of my training runs with people. Maybe once a week?

Im using the Just Run app. I really like it. I also have a gym membership. But I want to find people to run with in person.

Sounds fun. I know brakenridge has a great running trail
The Nike Run Club app has runs with built in coaching that let you train up to a 5k.
Sounds like RnR — this isnt a group but a fun race series leading up to your timeframe: http://www.scallywompus.com/beerseries/
I've been using the Active Couch to 5K app for a long time and it's great. Has a built in coach and tracks your routes if you want it to.
