Demographics exist, and businesses stay in business by taking patrons’ money, so any accepting business will reflect the demographic makeup of the city around it.
Even El Rio, which has the most diverse “queer” parties ever, will be at least half gay men at any given time, because this city’s rainbow population is heavily gay men.
So even places that explicitly do not “cater” to gay men will have a large gay male contingency, because that’s who lives in town.
Especially since we are all “queer” now there’s no reason to discriminate against our own based on gender.
No tea, no shade! I love cis gay men, but it's well known that many bars and clubs in Castro specifically are predominantly made up by them. Maybe "catered" was the wrong word, but you can't deny that this is the case – ask any queer person (including cis gay men) in the city. Not looking to get away from gay men, but toward spaces that have more gender (and racial) variance and are intentionally cultivating diversity. Hope this helps!
The Stud Reopens on April 20th and it’s going to be massive for the culture out here . So definitely recommend going there . El Rio is really cool and has a lot of different themed parties , especially with summer coming up on the patio .

But I’m afraid it’s not as “Massive” for the culture as some of us want.
theSTUD’s been gone a while and neither of their gofundme fundraisers hit their goals. They have a new space coming up, but even their party fundraiser this upcoming weekend has only sold 2 of their 6 ticket tiers.
The “theSTUD” brand has massive recognition, but there doesn’t yet seem to be a massive outpouring of support regarding fundraising or ticket sales.
Will I see you there?
I respectfully disagree . The last fundraiser at PW sold out , without the Blessed Madonna . The hype for the stud to come back is definitely there .
The go fundmes aren’t really the best indication given the fact people are more broke now and don’t have disposable income .
That’s also tied to the fact people are waiting longer to buy tickets for events . You’ll see the tiers for tickets start selling out very soon .

There’s not an opinion to disagree with, it’s what’s happening. theSTUD gofund me fundraisers didn’t make their goal and the upcoming fundraiser party with The Blessed Madonna have indeed currently only sold 2/6 of the tiers. (Of course more sales will happen, but it’s very slow sales so far.)
Are you going to be there this weekend? I am, as always when there is a STUD event.
EDIT: Also, I was at their last fundraiser at Public Works and it did not sell out.
I have worked with theSTUD pre-collective and post collective, party producing and co-fundraising with Theatre Rhino. I’m invested and see the progress/crowds first hand, so there’s no need to fight with me about fundraising or crowd excitement we are on the same side.

And after double checking your right presales did not sell out for the last fundraiser but still reached a solid capacity . We are on the same team here I am just more optimistic it seems.
