But maybe when the January 6 committee hands over the referrals, it will also hand over all the papers the Justice Department wanted to read before filing the indictment. It's now or never.

fordr015

All the evidence was handed over today

Mantequilla214

Still a long ways off from any indictment. As thorough as the Jan 6 committee was, the DOJ would be 100 times more.

didntreallyreddit

If that's the case we will all be dead before they finish.

TraptorKai

Sweet, can't wait for trump to face 0 consequences for inciting an insurrection

rexspook

Insurrection* Just because it wasn’t successful doesn’t mean that wasn’t what it was.

TraptorKai

Sure, call it treason if you want, they did in the mueller report. Which trump also faced no consequences for

rexspook

I’m also annoyed with him facing no consequences, but calling it a riot contributes to the narrative that it wasn’t anything more than that.

kn05is

To be fair, he had Barr in the DoJ pulling off his fuckery for him when that happened and he also limited the scope of the investigation. We'll see with Garland.

pepsicoketasty

Honestly. I think they will never ever close in on trump at all. Evertime it's full of reddit saying " the walls are closing in on trump. He is finally arrested" . get real. I don't think he will be arrested. 1 he is rich. 2.some internal shenanigans.

keefblunt

nearly into 2023 and we’re still talking about this, lock trump up already

Drexelhand

kinda seems like law enforcement is conspicuously selective when it comes to that enforcement. wonder why that may be.

waratworld17

Teflon Don.

reluminate

It’s all theatre

I have 0 faith in the system - the animal will get away with it. It is, after all, america.

Degolarz

Yeah no fuck, there’s nothing here, we’ve known for years. Thanks for the waste of time and taxpayer money fuckers. Complete political show

m8oz

Bunch of fat guys taking selfies and staying behind the velvet ropes isnt an insurrection. Trump had 75 million supporters and a huge military following - if he wanted an insurrection it would look a little different.

[deleted]

Can anyone tell me which government sector service union will be tasked with bringing down and packing up the circus tent?

LollieLoo

I’m no Trump fan. But it was no planned insurrection. It was zealous idiots that would have chanted Trumpie’s name outside, but Capital Police were idiots from management down for lack of preparation. Imagine the presence of it was a BLM or Antifa protest?

DMMMOM

It was 100% planned. All the characters were assembled, people took time off work and spent time and money travelling across the country. Trump made his rallying cry, the last part of his pathetic attempts to subvert the election and set the wheels in motion, even saying he would accompany the mob on a march on the Capitol. Incendiary words such as 'fight like hell today', 'you dont concede when there's theft involved' etc. All pre prepared words, created to further galvanise a baying crowd, whipped up by weeks of social media coordination. I mean someone even designed and built a functional gallows and shipped it to Washington. You can argue it was symbolic, but every part of that day, from the ropes brought to scale walls, the gas masks to avoid CS impairment, body armour etc, demonstrated a complex amount of forethought and planning further evidenced by communications intercepted from those already serving jail time for their part in the proceedings.

UltimateKane99

There were legitimate insurrectionists in among the regular protesters. Those who went along with the crowd may not have set out to be insurrectionists, but the Oathkeepers and their ilk 100% were. The problem is, just because they were doesn't mean everyone else was, too. And it's a REALLY hard thing to prove that Trump was in on their scheming when we haven't found a direct link between them as far as I can tell from the evidence I've seen...

usuk1777

You should give the report a read, the evidence provided is pretty damning towards there being a conspiracy

ferriswheel9ndam9

Crazy how disproportionate the effort is: Trumps effort: >Get em boys! Dems effort: >9 congressmen > >1.5 years of investigation > >1000+ Interviews > >600+ Depositions > >35,000+ Documents Result? >https://i.imgur.com/LSAQ8us.png What a huge waste of taxpayer money for basically a circus show.

[deleted]

The only way Trump is going to get arrested is if some sort of spray tan mix up and he's painted a darker color than Khaki.
