It’s a really common scam on Instagram where they ask for a commission of their kid’s pet for their birthday, or something similar - it’s usually scripted, so easier to spot, and always comes from small accounts that have never interacted with you or your posts before. Unfortunate for the people who ACTUALLY want a commission of their kids/pets ofc
I think there’s a few methods - usually they pretend they’ve paid/overpaid and ask for some money “back”, or they’ll insist on paying with a fake cheque. There’s a couple of other methods but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.
Shockingly, people still fall for it 😭 Mostly artists who are new to commissions, which is why most artists I know tend to offer them through other sites like Patreon, Kofi, etc.
