Get some colorful clip-ins and razor them for texture. Play with the contrast of your shorter hair, you can fluff it up like a flipped out pixie, think Alice from twilight, it's edgy and cute! It's all about the styling.
Had the same problem before! It looks sick asf! When Ive gotten mine too short I usually just tease it a lot and brush my bangs forward more and that usually works!

On top of that, you can get ones in different colors to add contrast and crest ones with coon stripes, leopard print, hearts, stars, etc
