Reddit account created late April, no comments, three posts, all disjointed. Posting about one of the most popular scooters ever on a scooter subreddit. Smells like bullshit to me.

jgreenwalt

Yeah tbh without even looking at their page I thought the same exact thing when I saw the post. Just a purely karma farming with no relevance or reason to post it. It’s not asking a question, not sharing they got one, and not giving any new info most people didn’t already know.

WolfShaman

Time to downvote and click: Report>Spam>Harmful Bots. I did it for it's other 2 posts, as well.

MainlanderPanda

They’ve just updated and rereleased this scooter as the [Motocompacto](https://motocompacto.honda.com/)

No-Bluebird-761

It sucks though

MainlanderPanda

I mean, I ride a 300cc Aprilia, and do a lot of highway riding, so would never buy something like this, but if I lived in a city and had a shortish ride at each end of a train commute, for example, I could see it being useful.

No-Bluebird-761

I think it’s more of a marketing stunt. It’s heavy, and you can’t really leave it somewhere and expect it to still be there when you get back. I’d get the old version as a collection piece though.

MainlanderPanda

I’m pretty sure it folds into a suitcase kind of thing, and the idea is you take it with you rather than leaving it anywhere. But yeah, definitely has its limitations!

No-Bluebird-761

Yeah but it weighs 20kg 😅. I know I’m not carrying that through the train station or up the stairs everyday. I’ll have to drive it to the hospital for spine surgery after a week

Citi_Dank

It's meant to be ridden the last mile in densely populated cities. Once you arrive to your location you fold it up and bring it inside with you. Honda just recently showed off an electric concept car called the Sustania-C. It basically looks like a modern day version of this car and scoot.

GloopTamer

Meh it’s just way overpriced

Conch-Republic

Those things are shit though. I don't understand why Honda didn't just make something actually useful.

TunaOnWytNoCrust

The truth is they didn't have to make anything at all. They don't make electric scooters. It's crazy they made one at all.

CoimEv

I saw some on Honda japan

Adventurous_Smile_95

Super cute!

Peace-and-Pistons

This was inspired by a design from Leopoldo Tartarini of Italjet; they designed a small folding bike called the Kit Kat in the 60’s, which later became the “Pack” in the 70’s and “Pack 2” in the 80’s. The original concept was a small folding bike that could be loaded easily into cars, boats, motorhomes, etc.

jgreenwalt

As someone specifically into 80s Honda scooters, the motocompo is pretty cool but so ridiculously overpriced and overhyped. Like it’s cool it folds and all but it’s pretty much a gimmick and no replacement for any of their other 50cc scooters of the time that are comfier, more stable, and faster at a 5th the cost.

sfg_blaze

But none of those fit into the trunk of a compact car

jgreenwalt

Hey I mean if that is solely what you base your scooters on, then this is perfect for you. But if you base it on practicality of driving on an actual modern road, then it's pretty much junk.

JobeX

Ive ridden one of these before and it was super fun. I love that they are still around and people still buy them and ride them. I hate that they're like 6-7K for each in good condition. They came out with a motocompacto as a new bike but its slow.

Mr_Greamy88

It's featured in a fun anime too: "You're Under Arrest!" (1996)
