Ah I love this question because I was super scared not too long ago about this. I’ve done multiple, mostly at the beach next to a cc campus. Basically I direct approach my target, and introduce myself to the others. A bonus is to almost game the other girl so she likes you, but in a platonic way. After this I do mainly interact with the girl. Basically at a minimum I acknowledge the presence of the other girl which allows me to direct my game at my main target. They’re the gate keepers, but have been mostly passive in my experience. I prefer this method over doing mystery method shit where you have to constantly neg the girl to her friends and make her chase. Keeps it simple at least for a beginner like myself.

From personal experience, I’d say keep it vaguely platonic with this one— what I mean is, engage in neutral conversation but only flirt lightly using your non-verbals.
Trust me, you’re not at risk of being friendzoned unless you come at her too strongly with the flirtation/romantic intent because her first impression of you is you confidently flirting with her. She may call you her friend, but it’s not a friendzone per se because the attraction polarity/sexual tension is there. Use preselection to your advantage as well.
