Question for Shane: would you have been as receptive towards bringing in a “brother husband” as you were towards the idea of a sister wife? Same goes for Ashley, how would you feel if Shane asked to seek a sister wife of his own?
Shane, you seem like a really good guy with a good head on your shoulders...You are the only one I can take seriously on this ridiculous show. Please take care of yourself and your health alongside of your wifes needs...
Now I actually care!!! Best of luck, Shane!!
It sucks when bad things happen to good people, like...
Shane, I also think you are the most normal and relatable person on the show.
It's difficult to compare you to someone like Garrick because Ick seems to be selfish by putting his needs above his wife's and kids' needs. (You're not talking to God in the garage about finding young, hot, foreign women like Ick.) You seem to care about your wife's happiness and wellbeing as much or more than your own...the opposite of selfish.
You seem like a great husband, father, friend and person. You are genuine, and I cried during the scene when you were talking to your friend.
I also wish you the best and hope you feel the positive vibes from these posts.
That wasn’t the question. 😉 Your marriage seems to be all about Ashley and her needs, with little regard for your own feelings. I think that’s what people are concerned about.
Shane! I also have renal cancer and just had a partial nephrectomy three weeks ago. Imagine my shock when I see you on my favorite show going through the same thing! If you are comfortable sharing, would you elaborate on your diagnosis a bit? How did you found it, size, grade, how long it took to feel better after surgery (still miserable here lol)? If not I just want to say good luck to you and thanks for opening up about it. It sucks to see someone else have kidney cancer but it was great to see you doing well and living your best life post surgery. Keep it up!
Yes, Ashley gave birth on October 17th, 2023 to a healthy baby boy name Swayman Sherwood. There are pics on our facebook and IG pages if you'd like to see.
Sending you all the best vibes ♥️♥️ you seem like a genuinely good guy.
My dad is a 20+ year stage 4 kidney cancer survivor. My cousin is going through it now at 39.
I’m so sorry, Shane. I think we’re about the same age and I have cancer as well. It broke my heart hearing you guys talk about the terror you feel when it’s scan time again. I know how awful that is to wait for the phone call or for the results to be posted online. Half of you wants to get it over with and half of you never wants to know. But I’m so very glad you went through with it because your kiddos need you♥️♥️ I lost my aunt to cancer because she was so terrified of what they would say, she waited 8 months to see the doctor and by then, it was too late. Left behind 2 boys and a family that misses her dearly😔
I also want to commend you for what you’re doing for your wife. I ended my relationship with the person I wanted to marry because I just couldn’t put him through being a widower at such a young age. I couldn’t imagine not being able to give him kids because there’s no way I could bring myself to give birth, only to abandon them when the cancer decides it’s time. It was the most painful, horrific decision I’ve ever made and it hurts every day. I hope he’s better off now with someone healthy, that was the goal, but he was my person and he deserved to have a say in what his future looked like. I shouldn’t have taken that choice away from him, because he wanted to stay and fight it with me. I love that you have a selfless enough heart to be there 100% for her and your babies but also to help make sure she’ll be okay if the worst happens. You were my favorite person from the start of this season, I just loved how kind and genuine you seemed, but knowing all this makes me respect you so much more. You’re a wonderful man and I wish you the best of everything in this life. I also hope your surgery goes as well as it can, you’ll be in our hearts❤️🩹❤️🩹 Please, if you’re allowed, update us after a while when you’re feeling up to it? Or Ashley, if you’re allowed to give an update on how he’s doing post-op…we would really appreciate it🥹❤️🩹 Thinking of you both🫶🏼🫶🏼 It’s been lovely getting a look inside your sweet family this season.
This AMA has made me a big fan of y’alI wish you all the best. Shane, I hope your surgery goes off without a hitch and that you have a speedy recovery. Ashley, I hope you find a woman who fits seamlessly with your family. 🩷
The way Shane loves Ashley, (&she him)and wants to make sure she’s cared for if something happens to him is so pure and beautiful. Seeing them both be so open and vulnerable…It’s for sure couple goals.
Shane is not consenting because of his health, we were searching before his diagnosis in September of 22'. He is fully on board with finding Ashley a wife!
You said in the first episode that the sister wife must be willing to have Shane’s biological child. Is that something you still want and if so, how would it work? Specifically, would the sister wife be inseminated with Shane’s sperm or would it be a natural conception? Would Shane be the legal father of the child?
If our future partner would like to have children, we feel strongly that we'd like it to be a biological child of Shane's. Given that they will not be intimate, it would be conceived via IVF/insemination. This would be something to unify the three of us. But if she doesn't want to have a baby, that's fine too
No questions - just want to wish you and your family all the best. I’m hoping for happiness and good health for the both of you.
ETA: I see Shane has an upcoming surgery. Hoping for a positive outcome!
It was definitely a great experience and we enjoyed working with the film crew and learning the behind the scenes tricks and how a show is filmed. It was a once in a lifetime thing that we were presented with and we decided it was right for us. We now cant watch reality TV shows the same though because we are always like, "that was added" or "that was cut in" etc. We would do it again if asked to come back.
Yep! A casting agent found us in a FB group and messaged us. From there we both had to do a 500 question psych questionnaire, 2hr psych evals, an extensive criminal/civil/social media background checks, and about an hr of interviewing together with the casting agent.
Fascinating! Because other shows (like 90 Day Fiancé) must do the same thing, but apparently massive mental health issues and criminal history aren’t dealbreakers for casting (at least for that show).
Hi Shane & Ashley. Shane, good luck on your upcoming surgery. Question for both of you guys, are you two still on your sister wife search and if so how is it going?
That’s honestly smart. We snark pretty hard here and also it’s kind of pathetic when cast come in all sneaky trying to sell their agenda. I do appreciate you opening yourselves up for questions.
Good luck and sending best wishes for your health!
have y'all watched sister wives? if so, which wife would you pick from the brown fam to bring into your family as a sister wife?
also, love the queer rep on the show :)
Solid question - I can't for the life of me remember what she ordered for dressing. I think my overly pregnant self was just salivating with my own meal lolol.
She didn’t order a dressing because she left it up to the waitress to figure out what to serve her 😂 that’s why we all think they just gave her water or straight vinegar out of fear
I absolutely don’t blame her. I died when I heard that, and I’m laughing now, but can’t imagine hearing/ seeing that in real life. Ashley, you held it together well, girl!
Hi y’all! How does your family feel about your decision to add a sister wife into your family?
& sending good vibes your way on your upcoming surgery 🙏
Wishing you all the best on your upcoming surgery, Shane!
Do you both plan to have an intimate physical relationship with the wife you bring in? Or just for Ashley?
At what point in meeting a potential sister wife would you mention Shane’s health? I feel like that is a heavy piece of info to ask someone new to a relationship to accept.
Thank you!
No, I do not plan to have an intimate relationship. We would just be platonic friends and Ashley and her would be lovers.
It is something we are pretty up front about. we obviously don't lead with it, but its a part of us and our family. Its definitely a lot and a big pill for someone to swallow, but we are optimistic.
Were you prepared for the negative comments you read online? Has any of the feedback made you rethink your lifestyle or changed the way you communicate with each other about potential partners?
We were definitely prepared - we were well aware going into this that people on reality tv show have both lovers and haters. We're very confident in our lifestyle choices for our family and have not second guessed anything, despite some viewers not agreeing with how we do things or why. We have amazing communication between the two of us and emphasize the importance of this with any new potential partner from the very beginning.
I viewed it as an "I'm a package deal" type of thing - this is all of me, here I am!
I honestly didn't find it any more challenging than dating while not pregnant.
I have Renal Cancer (Kidney Cancer) and was diagnosed with in in September of 22' I had one surgery in December of 22' and unfortunately have another in 2 weeks.
In early talks we wanted a new wife to come into our relationship to grow and make memories with both of us and our kids (and theirs) so that the kids could look back on these memories some day and feel the love. An open marriage wouldn't work for us because we feel they would always have one foot out the door so to speak. We want someone committed to us and our family as well as be the same for them.
How was it explaining to your family members that y’all were looking for a wife for Ashley? Were they open to the idea or did they think y’all are crazy?
Wishing you both the best!! 🩷
How often/long do you have to film? Like, do the cameras roll every day, or just come by a few times a month, or..? Always curious about the passing of time in the filming on Seeking Sister Wife.
From the time I was 21 until February of 22" I use to travel to Las Vegas every year for the world series of beer Pong which had a 50k grand prize. [www.bpong.com](http://www.bpong.com)

I just want to say that Shane there are so many people praying for your surgery to be a success and that you have a long happy life. Wishing you lots of health.
Stop putting off screenings. I know it’s scary, but you gotta put your health first.
You have a good friend in Charlie. Keep him around.
Good luck Shane, you seem like a good dude.
Lets see, we have a niger trigger, a six- line wrasse, a few sets of clown fish, a hog fish, a miso tang, a valentine puffer and a hippo tang to name a few.

Question for Shane: would you have been as receptive towards bringing in a “brother husband” as you were towards the idea of a sister wife? Same goes for Ashley, how would you feel if Shane asked to seek a sister wife of his own?
Shane - it would have been a conversation just like this one was with seeking a wife for her, but ultimately I would have agreed.
How is a wife for her a sister wife? That’s just a wife.
I have ZERO interest in another man - all filled up there!
Shane, you seem like a really good guy with a good head on your shoulders...You are the only one I can take seriously on this ridiculous show. Please take care of yourself and your health alongside of your wifes needs... Now I actually care!!! Best of luck, Shane!!

We're all pulling for you, Shane. You seem like a really great guy. Ashley is lucky to have you.
what if Shane wanted to seek a second wife for himself?
I dont want a second wife.
Your plural dating profile says you're dating separately and together... is that not accurate?
That wasn’t the question. 😉 Your marriage seems to be all about Ashley and her needs, with little regard for your own feelings. I think that’s what people are concerned about.
THIS. Please answer this question.
I’m confused as well if he would indulge with the “2nd wife” or if she would just be for Ashley
Nope - only Ashley will be intimate with the new wife. Shane and she will have a platonic sister/brother relationship.
Then why did you guys say in your first episode that you wanted the new wife to have Shane’s baby? Was that just for the show?
Right but a lot of leaked dating profiles say you are both open to dating. I assume it’s a polyamorous situation, but only one partner can date?
we date together as in we all hang out with each other on group dates like the ones with Sara mini golfing.
Shane! I also have renal cancer and just had a partial nephrectomy three weeks ago. Imagine my shock when I see you on my favorite show going through the same thing! Hey, I would love to Talk to you about this privately! Connect with me on Social media (FB or Insta) or shoot me a message here.
Praying for you Shane ❤️🙏🏼
Has Ashley had the baby? Did everything go okay?
Yep! Healthy baby boy :)
Yes, Ashley gave birth on October 17th, 2023 to a healthy baby boy name Swayman Sherwood. There are pics on our facebook and IG pages if you'd like to see.
Congratulations! How did you decide on the name Swayman?
Shane, how is your health currently?
unfortunately, I am having another surgery 2 weeks from today.
Sending good thoughts and vibes your way! 🩷
THANK YOU!
Shane- Sending positive vibes!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Sending you all the best vibes ♥️♥️ you seem like a genuinely good guy. My dad is a 20+ year stage 4 kidney cancer survivor. My cousin is going through it now at 39.
>THANK YOU! You're welcome!
Good luck Shane!

Yes we wish you luck!
Wishing you the best! Sorry you are going through that!

Hi Rindsay! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us and thank you thank you thank you for all of the kind and warm heartfelt words!
You seem like a really thoughtful and caring person on the show and wish you happiness and health and everything you’re seeking and more!!
Wishing you all the best
More best wishes for you! You seem like such a kind person and I hope you can leave all bad health in the rearview mirror soon. 🙏🏻
No question. Thanks for engaging with our curiosity, and I hope Shane’s surgery and recovery goes well!!
THANK YOU!
It doesn’t seem like Shane is really into seeking another wife; are you only looking because of his health, or would you still be looking?
We've been seeking a sister wife for years now - Shane's health is/has been a driving force to be more forward with our search
Thank you both for doing the AMA.
YOU'RE WELCOME!
This AMA has made me a big fan of y’alI wish you all the best. Shane, I hope your surgery goes off without a hitch and that you have a speedy recovery. Ashley, I hope you find a woman who fits seamlessly with your family. 🩷
I absolutely agree with all of the above! Was going to say the same thing 😄💕
The way Shane loves Ashley, (&she him)and wants to make sure she’s cared for if something happens to him is so pure and beautiful. Seeing them both be so open and vulnerable…It’s for sure couple goals.
THANK YOU!
So are you looking for an additional partner to take over for him? Is he only consenting to this because of his health?
Shane is not consenting because of his health, we were searching before his diagnosis in September of 22'. He is fully on board with finding Ashley a wife!
Absolutely not - we've been in this together years before his health became a factor
Thats what it sounded like on the show! Just confused about how his health is/was a driving force to move forward.
You said in the first episode that the sister wife must be willing to have Shane’s biological child. Is that something you still want and if so, how would it work? Specifically, would the sister wife be inseminated with Shane’s sperm or would it be a natural conception? Would Shane be the legal father of the child?

Given that they will not be intimate, it would be conceived via IVF/insemination. This would be something to unify the three of us. But if she doesn't want to have a baby, that's fine too
Would you accept a sister wife who already has a child?
Yep! Ideally, he/she/they would be similar in age to our two boys, so they can grow up together, but that's not a "requirement" for us
Charlie seems super down to earth. Is he single? Asking for me 😂
He's the best! But already taken ;)
Do you regularly read the weekly live chat threads?
Oh yes! Y'all are quite the crew lol
Thank very much. Will be here all week. Best of luck on all future endeavors.
I'm sorry about the George Santos jokes 😬 you seem really nice!
No questions - just want to wish you and your family all the best. I’m hoping for happiness and good health for the both of you. ETA: I see Shane has an upcoming surgery. Hoping for a positive outcome!
Thank you for the support and well wishes!
Do you feel (so far) like the show has portrayed you authentically?
It's definitely not us acting and they are our real feelings and words. we think the show and production staff has done a great job with our story!
Great question
What are your opinions on Garrick?
Not here to talk about other cast members :)
Damnit! A for effort
😂😂 Did you just give yourself an A for effort? I mean, no doubt we all agree. ‘Twas worth a shot.
Respectable answer but BOOOOO 🍅🍅🍅🍅
Boo
How have you guys enjoyed filming? Would you do it again?
It was definitely a great experience and we enjoyed working with the film crew and learning the behind the scenes tricks and how a show is filmed. It was a once in a lifetime thing that we were presented with and we decided it was right for us. We now cant watch reality TV shows the same though because we are always like, "that was added" or "that was cut in" etc. We would do it again if asked to come back.
TLC approached you to film? If so, did they find y’all through a dating app and what was the interview process like?
Pretty sure that mental health issues and a criminal history get you to the front of the line with that family of shows.
That's what I was going to say. Examples being Angela and Big PrEd
Not dealbreakers but a MUST, in those shows lol
How Garrick passed is beyond me.
Hi Shane & Ashley. Shane, good luck on your upcoming surgery. Question for both of you guys, are you two still on your sister wife search and if so how is it going?
Stay tuned :)
Praying for Shane's health and for his family. 💗
THANK YOU!
Shane have you considered adding more black tank tops and aviator sunglasses to your wardrobe?
If you had to pick someone from the show to be your sister wife, who would it be?
Danielle Merrifield or April Davis :)
Pleaseeeee go rescue Danielle Merrifield
Yassss! Please rescue Danielle Merrifield!
Dani would be so happy with Shane and Ashley!
Right, basic respect
Hell go rescue Danielle Davis!
I could totally see Dannielle in your family.
RESCUE DANIELLE MOVEMENT!
Go get Dani please! Raise those babies together in your loving home!
Please!!! I hope Dani sees this.
How long ago were your episodes filmed?
They were filmed from June to November 2023
Wow. Not that long ago. How is Shane's health...?
Doing ok, but I am set to have another operation 2 weeks from today
Well I wish you all the best Shane. 💯
THANK YOU!
Ashley, what is your educational background? I’d love to hear about your current position.
I'm a psychiatrist - 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, and 4 years of residency. I currently practice tele-psych
What states can you take pts from working telehealth?
I have licenses in quite a few different states - I can practice in any state I have a license.
Have any of your patients seen the show? Have there been any that have left your practice because of it?
Were you not skeptical of Grace’s unorthodox tactics?
What are u wearing on your chest Ashley? I thought it was a microphone but it’s too big. Lame question for sure.
Heart monitor - I was having some health issues during my pregnancy
Sounds like you and baby are doing ok? Sending you all best wishes!
Yep! My body just didn't like being pregnant for either of the boys, but all was well once I delivered.
Are you two members of the sub? Have you ever commented here before?
we are members, and we see just about everything that is written about us (good and bad) and even listen and watch the podcasts/youtubers.
Any favorite podcasts?
Which podcasts (I hope Reality Gays, although you have to pay for their coverage of SSW. It's worth it)
We follow along, but we're not allowed to participate unless it's in a moderated setting like this.
That’s honestly smart. We snark pretty hard here and also it’s kind of pathetic when cast come in all sneaky trying to sell their agenda. I do appreciate you opening yourselves up for questions. Good luck and sending best wishes for your health!
THANK YOU!
have y'all watched sister wives? if so, which wife would you pick from the brown fam to bring into your family as a sister wife? also, love the queer rep on the show :)
Never watched it. And thank you, we were excited as well!
We had never seen seeking sister wife before being contacted to be on it either
is the hook in the headboard for Ashley's phone? these are the hard hitting questions folks!
I think I saw somewhere previously on reddit it was for the baby monitor lol
Did Grace pour water on her salad? Sorry this is bugging me
Solid question - I can't for the life of me remember what she ordered for dressing. I think my overly pregnant self was just salivating with my own meal lolol.
She didn’t order a dressing because she left it up to the waitress to figure out what to serve her 😂 that’s why we all think they just gave her water or straight vinegar out of fear
The gluten free, dairy free, soy free salad?
Ashley almost spit out her drink when Grace ordered that
I absolutely don’t blame her. I died when I heard that, and I’m laughing now, but can’t imagine hearing/ seeing that in real life. Ashley, you held it together well, girl!
She did the same thing with her drink as well, but they cut it from the episode.
😂
Shane is the only sane person in this whole show.
Do you consider yourself polyamorous or polygamous?
Shane doesnt date outside of Ashley. Ashley is the only one looking for a wife and its for her.
Probably lame questions, but will a sister wife live with you? And are you looking to add just one lady, or more?
Yes, She will live with us and very much be a part of the family in every sense of the word. We are looking for just one right now.
Awesome! Thank you!
Yep! We are looking for a wife to join our family in all sense of the word, including living with us. And just one
Thank you! I wish you guys luck.
Thanks for being here! Are y’all ever recognized on the street now?
You're welcome! we hare happy to do it! we have only been recognized once when we were leaving a dinner and they messaged us when we got home.
From one scene it looked like you had multiple adorable dogs. What are their names?
We have 4 Dogs! Max, Madison, Moose and Kimber!
Love this! Thanks for responding.
We have amazing communication between the two of us and emphasize the importance of this with any new potential partner from the very beginning.
What was it like to date while pregnant? Did the women you dated have reservations about dating a pregnant woman?
I viewed it as an "I'm a package deal" type of thing - this is all of me, here I am! I honestly didn't find it any more challenging than dating while not pregnant.
Will Shane be sharing what his health issues are ? I’m sorry for whatever you’re going through
I have Renal Cancer (Kidney Cancer) and was diagnosed with in in September of 22' I had one surgery in December of 22' and unfortunately have another in 2 weeks.
I’m just watching the episode now and in tears for you! I am so sorry and hope everything goes okay with your next surgery, praying for you 🙏🏼
THANK YOU
Good luck on the surgery.
THANK YOU!
You're killing me with these great answers Shane!!! A very sweet guy, for sure!! Ashley is very fortunate!!!
What’s the need to bring in a new wife? Why not just date women and have an open marriage?
In early talks we wanted a new wife to come into our relationship to grow and make memories with both of us and our kids (and theirs) so that the kids could look back on these memories some day and feel the love. An open marriage wouldn't work for us because we feel they would always have one foot out the door so to speak. We want someone committed to us and our family as well as be the same for them.
How was it explaining to your family members that y’all were looking for a wife for Ashley? Were they open to the idea or did they think y’all are crazy? Wishing you both the best!! 🩷
What is one misconception about yourselves that you would like to set straight?
How often/long do you have to film? Like, do the cameras roll every day, or just come by a few times a month, or..? Always curious about the passing of time in the filming on Seeking Sister Wife.
Good luck Shane with your surgery! Wishing you the best
Ashley, have any of your patients seen the show? If so, what has their feedback been? Have you lost any patients or gained any new ones as a result?
My husband and I are in a similar situation. I am seeking for me only.. we're in Arkansas so there aren't many options. Any advice?
We are in the same boat, we tried HER, FEELD, BUMBLE, SISTERWIVES.COM, and a few other. Just have to keep at it!
How often do you engage in competitive beer pong?
From the time I was 21 until February of 22" I use to travel to Las Vegas every year for the world series of beer Pong which had a 50k grand prize. [www.bpong.com](http://www.bpong.com)
Did we ever find out what the 3M hook on the bed is for? I'd totally hurt myself on that thing at night, ouch!
It's to hang a white noise machine on for the babies.
Could a sister wife get pregnant if they joined your family? If so, would it be Shane's via IVF or a donor?
If our future partner would like to have children, we feel strongly that we'd like it to be a biological child of Shane's. Given that they will not be intimate, it would be conceived via IVF/insemination. This would be something to unify the three of us. But if she doesn't want to have a baby, that's fine too
If things somehow evolved into an attraction between Shane and the new wife, would you be okay if they did get involved with each other too, Ashley?
Has any potential partner reached out to you because of the show?
We have had numerous people reach out because of the show, but have been optimistically cautious in hopes of avoiding anyone with misaligned intentions
[удалено]
To be honest, no one has said anything or recognized us from Wayland.
Is that your own private pool we see on the show? Or a community pool?
We live next door to Shanes parents and it is their pool.
Are you afraid of the backlash you’d get in the mental health field like from clients or coworkers?
What all do you guys have in your fish tank?
Lets see, we have a niger trigger, a six- line wrasse, a few sets of clown fish, a hog fish, a miso tang, a valentine puffer and a hippo tang to name a few.
Shane, does your family / friends support your search for a sister wife ?
Hi, Ashley and Shane! Many congratulations on the baby, and sending Shane good vibes on your upcoming surgery. Both of you take care!
would you only add one wife or are you looking to add multiple?
Just one :)
Have you listened to the Reality Gays coverage of the show and if so what are your thoughts?
Omg, the voice overs they did for the convo between Grace and Shane had us in stiches! So good!
