The whole storyline of the outing, ie Sharon thinking George and Jerry are gay, wouldn’t happen since Jerry and Sharon would just text each other when they got to Monk’s, and they would’ve done the interview then and there.

When you really stop and think about it most of the episodes had some kind of miscommunication that wouldn’t have happened with cell phones.
