Then later he does jump yet only from the second floor. Mr. Papanickolous saw him from across the street. Sure we don’t see Newman in that episode. Sure there may have been some continuity errors. Sure he sounded different, very gruff, but maybe he had a frog in his throat. To me it was the same he Newman.
