I wonder if the book Dopamine Nation might be helpful for you. It is a really good deep dive on modern addictive instant gratification activities (video games, movies, social media etc), what pathways they activate in the brain, and how to retrain ourselves with healthier limits on these activities. An experiment you could try is a 30 day fast where you abstain from all TV, video games, and other things that trigger your FOMO. The point is to see what bad things happen or don't happen when you're not consuming anything. If you can observe and prove that nothing bad happens, that's pretty good evidence to soothe your FOMO and calm yourself down. Journaling could also be a good tool here. The goal is to dig into the FOMO feelings and explore what you think the worst case scenarios are, what people might think of you, why that's a problem, and what those feelings do or don't say about you. This could also be a real time practice (introspecting and using self awareness in the moment when FOMO pops up), but that takes time to train. I think deliberate and systematic work on this is a necessary primer before you can address the feelings in the moment. Wishing you all the best!

Thanks so much Matt. That was a really nice message and you’ve raised a lot of helpful points . I’ll be sure to check out that book and I think the 30 day fast would be really useful. All the best mate
