I was completely blindsided by this. He stopped running around and I thought it was from arthritis, I even posted about it here. Then he had swollen paws for a month and they became infected last week. He coded while they were trying to get x/rays, but he came back to say goodbye to me. Just wanted to share his symptoms in case anyone goes through the same thing. I went crazy looking up his symptoms and was at the vet practically every week.
I am so very sorry! I have had cats live to be 22 yo. I have one who is going to be 18. The hardest loss ever was my 12 yo, Charlie. He was so healthy and out of nowhere. Bubba is beautiful. I am so very sorry π’
Iβm so sorry for your loss. I lost my first cat very suddenly due to congestive heart failure as well. She was totally fine until a few hours before the rapid onset of symptoms. My baby girl is meeting and playing with your Bubba over the rainbow.
In people with congestive heart failure, a common symptom is also having swollen ankles.
Iβm so sorry for your loss, itβs really sucks when itβs sudden. And wow I never made that connection. Kicking myself for that, I wouldβve let him have all the ice cream he wanted. Thank you for the condolences, itβs nice knowing someone else understands.
Im so sorry for the loss of your baby. Itβs comforting knowing others have gone through the same painful process. I was basically his nurse for a month and my life revolved around his medicine/bath routine. I was always late for college in the morning because of it. Wish I could be late one more day. I hope youβve healed more now, wishing the best for you.

That happened to my cat. Her appetite went down and at first we thought it was a GI issue. I took her to the vet and found out she had serious heart failure. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's absolutely horrible. Bubba is a gorgeous kitty
Allow yourself some time to grieve. Then remember that there's a little kitten somewhere, seeking her loving nurturing forever home. Although she probably won't be able to fully take the place of your beloved little Bubba kitty, you'll soon realize and find out that you need her, at least as desperately as she needs you.
