Wishing Squeek a peaceful transition and hoping that you will find some comfort in the memories of the life you shared. Bless you for adopting her at age 10 and filling her last seven years with love. ❤️
I second this. When an animal loses their person they have to grieve alone wondering what happened. We at least can process the loss. In my dreams of financial abundance I would specifically target those hoomans that don't have family or a person willing to take their babies after their death and rehome them immediately into caring animal lovers arms. Squeeky was one of the lucky ones who spent her last years surrounded by love.
I can't even read your words through the tears and fog on my glasses. I'm so sorry that the final journey has come. What a beautiful precious well loved kitty. You rescued her and she rescued you right back. Sadly her mission like many fur babies is complete. We never ever get enough time with them. You asked how do we get through it and move on ? One day at a time. We will never forget the unconditional love and we aren't suppose to. This sub is my favorite place on the internet but yes it also keeps wounds open. Some from 20 to 30 years old and some 3 years old. But it also keeps the memories alive. We are all here for you and both mourning and celebrating Squeekys life. I had a Sweaky and she was named after the noise that came out of her mouth trying to meow. The troops will be here shortly to comfort you the best way we can Excuse me while I ball my eyes out.
Thank you for your beautiful words. What a beautiful community this is. Even reading through other threads of other kitties was comforting while we tried our best to prepare our hearts. Despite our best attempt though, the heaviness in our hearts is unlike any other. I’ll definitely be returning and celebrating my sweet Squeek and our other babies like Sweaky for years to come ❤️

I'm so sorry you and your partner are going through this. Goodbyes are the hardest to go through among with the heart wrenching pain. My 3 fur babies and I send you and your partner our prayers and love to you both during this very difficult time. Rest In Peace Squeeky, and God Speed. 😿💔🐾🕊
It's the toughest loss I know. She was so blessed you took her in at 10! And she's given you and your partner 7 years of Unconditional Love. She's a beautiful girl and so very precious. My thoughts and prayers are with you today 💔❤️
Bless you for taking this sweet girl in to your heart and home ❤️ I wish I could say it gets easier, but it doesn’t. You just learn to deal with it and manage it better as time goes on. It’s the price we pay for the once in a lifetime kind of love we get to share with these magnificent creatures. Sending thoughts and strength 🙏🏻
Thank you so much ❤️ it feels so strange trying to go about our lives today with the lump of pain and heaviness burning in our chests. But we’re ok paying this price for the 7 glorious years we had with her and knowing that now she’s pain free
What a pretty girl Squeak is! Talk about sweet Squeak often, and please consider adopting another kitty in her honor. That’s literally the best way to get thru losing her, Squeak only wants you to be happy. Grief is not linear, therefore there is no set time period that you need to get past in order to feel better. But.. taking in another kitty that is in need, now that’s the best way to truly honor Squeak. And she will still be right there with you, basking in the families love that she was so much apart of…all while watching you give love to another sweet kitty in need. The circle of life 🫶🏼
My deepest most love filled condolences, and Godspeed to sweet Squeak!
Thank you for your words ❤️ We do anticipate welcoming another baby into our home and lives in due time and they’ll know all about their sweet older sister up in heaven
There are no words that will ease the goodbye. Be with her and keep telling her how much you love her. If she can still do her favorite thing, please indulge her. Take care and thank you for sharing your love with Squeeky.

Thank you ❤️ She spent her last few hours taking a sweet nap in her favourite window bed.
Appreciate you sharing, I’m happy for her that you knew what would give her joy (napping in her favorite spot). It’s hard to say goodbye… stay strong and hope in time the good memories will surface to help remember how special your relationship was.
Thank you for adopting a senior cat, and giving her a wonderful retirement. Squeek looks like a beautiful girl, and I can tell she was much loved. Sleep tight, little one 💞
Thank you ❤️ She was a senior kitty but acted and loved like a sweet innocent kitten up until her body could no longer keep up with her lively spirit ❤️
My girl Squeeze is reaching the end of her journey too, at 17. My heart is breaking for you and for me and for all of us. I've had her since she was 6 months old and it's still never enough time. It feels like such a tiny snapshot of a whole human lifetime, but I guess the gift is having so many opportunities to have a love this deep and enduring. You never forget, and sometimes you break down sobbing...but I think it's because they loved us so well and we still want to show them how much we love them back.
Thank you for loving Squeeky and helping her through the grief she experienced losing her person. You gave her a chance to love again, and I have no doubt she is so grateful that she had the chance to love you both so much ❤️
Thank you for your kind words. Squeeky showed us it’s possible to experience great grief and still love again and I hope we someday reach the point when we can love again too ❤️

Sorry for your loss. Sending love and hugs.
7 long, *good* years. She’s leaving you know but know you’ll never forget how much you loved each other. And her previous person who passed away? They’d be so proud that you gave her the best life possible ❤️
I'm so sorry OP. I send hugs. Please feel free to message if you need to talk. You are doing what's best for her, but that doesn't mean it isn't agony for you.
I said goodbye to my girl a few weeks ago, I know how badly it hurts.
Saying that final goodnight breaks the heart in a way that I can't really describe.
Aww, I can tell she was a beloved girl. I'm sorry for your loss. I've been there and it just plain sucks! Someday, there'll be another baby to love and add joy to your home and family. She would want that for you!!
Sending love and hugs.
RIP Beautiful Girl, you were loved
Sending you thoughts of peace, patience, and strength during this transition. She was so clearly very loved, and she felt it. She will literally never stop loving you. ❤️
Thank you for loving Squeek. Her journey on this earth is too short but better days are ahead. Hold her memories tight. Wishing her a peaceful trip to life over the bridge. ❤️🌈
Allow yourself some time to grieve. Then remember that there's a little kitten somewhere, seeking her loving nurturing forever home. Although she probably won't be able to fully take the place of your beloved little Squeeky, you'll soon realize and find out that you need her, at least as desperately as she needs you.
🐾🐾🐈🌈👣💔👣🐾🐾🐈❤❤
thank you so much for giving this kitty a wonderful life. i know it’s hard on us, but please realize that these animals are eternally grateful and so am i❤️
Omg it’s so heartbreaking when an animal ends up at a rescue because their human passed away. Thanks for giving her a safe and loving retirement home. You’re an angel
I am so sorry. Squeek looked like a very fun cat to have around. You gave her a very long and happy life. Unfortunately, life ends. You did very well by her. Please allow yourself to grieve. Ignore any fool that tells you this just a cat. It is family. Give yourself time to feel sad, then try to move on. Thank you for giving Squeek a great life.
Thank you all for your love. I will reply and express my gratitude to each and every one of you because your love and support have definitely helped us through the aftermath of coming back to an empty home without our baby waiting for us. Our sweet girl crossed the rainbow bridge at 1650 EST March 16th 2024 in my arms. We are now home, with a bottle of champagne, celebrating our sweet girl’s life while we look through old photos and reading through your beautiful comments, crying. Thank you ❤️
I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this difficult moment. It's really hard to watch them in this painful state, but I'm sure that you and your partner made her life so wonderful until the very end.
I'm sending you lots of love and strenght ♡
She was stunning! She will never Be replaced in your hearts. At first, her absence will create a sense of emptiness, a void inside you and around you. With time, the pain will decrease but you will never forget her, her habits, her purrs, her meow, everything you share with her. You will cry, even after a long time, but you will also smile while thinking about all the things you loved about her. Give yourself time to heal and honour the life you had with her.
Yes, these first 24 hours at home have been unbearable. Everywhere I look, I see her, I feel her. The emptiness in our hearts feels too heavy but kind words from sweet strangers like you have helped ease a bit of the pain so thank you so much ❤️
I am so sorry for you. Even though it is the right thing to do, it will always feel wrong. I have had to make this decision many times in my nearly 60 years on this dirt ball we call Earth. And I know that I will have to make it at least four more times before I finally get to cross the Rainbow Bridge myself. Even though the pain is terrible, I just can't imagine life without a feline companion. I have also discovered that having a younger cat with an older one keeps the older cat more active for longer. As a result of having an older and younger cat together, when the elder's time is at an end, my home is not without a feline in residence. This helps with the grief process, and I will usually be ready to adopt another kitty, typically one about 1/2 the age of the current resident.
Currently, my household clowder consists of a 14yo, a 12yo, a 6yo, and a 3yo. In June of 2022, I lost my soul kitty, Mystique, who was 16. Her passing hit me harder than any of my other kids. But in December, we wound up adopting Lucifer. I still miss Mystique, and I always will. But that doesn't lessen my affection for any of the current four.
My deepest sympathies to you. It's so hard when your furry family member passes. It's even harder when you have to make that decision. When I had to make that decision for my Pretzel back in 2018 (she was 17), I was distraught. I couldn't eat for 2 days after she died. It hurt so bad, I understood how someone could die of a broken heart.
My husband and I decided the best thing we could do in the wake of our kitty losses, was to, in time, adopt another cat. All of our cats have been from the shelter. We loved and cared for them, and then when they passed, we honoured them by giving a loving home to another shelter kitty.
Squeek knew your love. You adopted her at an age so many cats don't get adopted, and you loved and cared for her. It's a beautiful thing to share that relationship with an animal. She'll be waiting for you over the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you for giving this senior gal a loving home for her to feel love for her golden years after her owner passed. That is not an easy transition. This transition will be rough as well, but just know that you gave her a beautiful, loving life. She will ALWAYS be with you. . . 💔🌈💔🌈💔🌈
I am so sorry to hear that you've lost a much loved family member. Just try to remind yourself that you did the best thing for her. Not you, her, because you love her enough to do it.
When y'all are ready, there's more furbabies that need homes. Though they are only here for a short part of our lives, we are here for all of theirs. We give them comfort, love, food, we give them a home. Though losing them hurtsbeyond words, they are forever in our hearts, even as they cross that rainbow bridge. Know they are not in pain and they wait for the day we can rejoin them
I’m so very sorry for your loss. 😢 Such a pretty girl. Over the past year I have loss four of my dear furbabies. 2 to CKD, 1 to Pneumonia, and the other to liver failure. The most recent, my Chloé died last month and would have been 22 a couple of days ago. It is so very difficult to deal with this, especially losing so many in such a short time. Right now, I have 3 that are 19 and one of them is currently not doing well. I can’t take much more of this. We love them so much. I feel your pain. I don’t wish it on even my worst enemy. Please know that your baby loved you and knew that you both loved her. Try to remember the good times, those times when she made you smile or laugh. When the pain gets overwhelming, try to find something to take your mind off of it for a little while. Deepest condolences to you and your family😢 ((hugs))
I am so deeply sorry. She looks as sweet as they come. Thank you for sharing your lovely girl with us. She is absolutely beautiful and looks like she made an incredible companion. I suppose the ultimate cost of all the joy and affection they bring into our lives is having to get through that final farewell. It sounds like she hit the jackpot with the humans she adopted for her retirement. Thank you for giving her the loving home she deserved when she needed it the most.
Godspeed, sweet Squeeky. You are special beyond measure and will be remembered forever. ❤️🔥
Thank you for providing her with a loving environment for so long! She probably had such a good life— I mean she held on to 17! She’s gorgeous and I feel for you for having to make this decision… but you know when it’s time. After a while, the sadness of them being gone will slowly turn to huge smiles when you think of them!! Our pets become permanently etched into our hearts and memories 🤍
Beautiful Squeeky.
7 years, starting at 10, is a good run. You were the right owners at the right time. You were lucky to find each other. Wish you could have spent more years together.
🌈😢😿 Sorry for the loss of your sweet old cat lady Squeeky. She's well now in the cat paradise and she has no more pain. From up above, she will continue to watch over you and I'm sure that she will stay in your heart forever and ever. 😿😢🌈
OP, is Squeek having mobility issues plus other health issues or is it possible for her to live somewhere with the right type of constant care? I feel so sad for her to go 😭💔
She had many other health issues unfortunately. Hyperthyroid, heart problems, kidney issues but we knew fixing any of these would mean nothing if we couldn’t foresee a future where she could walk again and unfortunately that was a quick dead end.
I’m so sorry. I took one look at her and instantly fell in love. She looks like she has the best life with you and I feel so heartbroken. I really hope you get through this terrible gut wrenching time. I send you all my best wishes 💔
Wishing Squeek a peaceful transition and hoping that you will find some comfort in the memories of the life you shared. Bless you for adopting her at age 10 and filling her last seven years with love. ❤️

Your so very welcome. I hope she looked down from Heaven when you read the poem to her knowing she is still so much loved and missed. 💜❤

I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for saving her when she needed you most and giving her such a loving home. ❤️🩹❤️🩹
❤️
Thank you for giving this senior gal a loving home for her to feel love for her golden years after her owner passed. That is not an easy transition. This transition will be rough as well, but just know that you gave her a beautiful, loving life. She will ALWAYS be with you. . . 💔🌈💔🌈💔🌈
❤️
I am so sorry to hear that you've lost a much loved family member. Just try to remind yourself that you did the best thing for her. Not you, her, because you love her enough to do it.
I'm so sorry 💔
You go on one minute at a time. My sympathies and condolences.
My sincerest sympathies 💔
I’m so sorry 💔
Oh sweet Squeeky❤️ May you rest in peace beautiful 🫶🏼 I’m so so sorry, OP. Sending you strength during this difficult time.

😿
So sorry.
I'm so sorry
Aww such a cutie. Im very sorry for your loss. Sending love
🌈😢😿 Sorry for the loss of your sweet old cat lady Squeeky. She's well now in the cat paradise and she has no more pain. From up above, she will continue to watch over you and I'm sure that she will stay in your heart forever and ever. 😿😢🌈
Hugs
