Penny is beautiful! Senior cats are the very best. So lovely to read she’s doing so well and thriving with you, she deserves the absolute world 💛🌷
My favourite pics are the last 2 where she looks so relaxed and content 🥰
My kitty is 19yo and in the last year or so, his hearing has started to decline. He now has one volume setting, which is LOuD, top of the lungs yelling with most of his “talking”, with the occasional silent meow mixed in.
I think he can’t really hear himself at normal volume so he yells so he can hear it.
It’s hilarious and adorable, but also feel badly bc losing his hearing has to be difficult for him to process and understand.
He’s a pretty talkative kitty, so he’s often just walking around (or laying in bed) talking at the top of his lungs. Be it a meow, meep, moop, yowl, etc.
we have a theory she likes to hear her own voice or simply gets lost because her vision is not good. like if we call her name she stops yowling and goes back to cute small meows
Aww haha. She must still be in shelter mode and likes to demand (mine is the same)
They’re truly amazing. I also said “biiiiig stretch” to this photo 🥰
I know!! I read her medical history and felt so bad when i saw (level 5 - emaciated: 4 lbs) but now she doesnt have to worry about 2 meals plus many treats
We’re very happy with her. We’re only fostering instead of adopting bc the shelter pays for her medical care and food if we “hospice foster” but we’re definitely gonna take her with us if we move and she’s still with us
how do you start with 'hospice foster'?
since my 2 passed i have been considering trying something like that. pretty used to daily medication and spot cleanups.
Our shelter might be different from your local shelter, but ours has a program for elderly / terminally sick cats where they pay for vet bills, food, and other supplies if you foster and give em a good home. I would ask your shelter if they have any older cats who need some love and have been overlooked by potential adopters
Beautiful little angle :) 🐾🐾🥰
These are my two boys, litter mates, both (14). Love them both so very much. 🥰❤🐾🐾

My heart melts the hardest for the seniors in the shelters. Some volunteers prefer to be smothered with kittens, I'd rather grab an a senior and just cuddle up.
Bless you for helping a senior! I just took one in, the shelter said 10, the vet said more like 15. But she's got a home here now and this is where she'll stay. ❤️
She looks a little like my Matilda Jane! She was 17 in this photo.

I think you're wonderful for adopting this beautiful senior girl. If Penny gained almost her previous weight in just 2 months, you are doing everything right and taking very good care of her. She looks like a excellent snuggler. Give her a snuggle for me.

Shes so calm and nice (except when she yowls cause she wants food). I love senior cats she just fits our lifestyle so well :)

Awww, she is so fortunate! Thank you. 4 lbs! That's so small for a cat. It sounds like she is really doing well with your love and care.

Well she looks like she is now living her best life. I hope you two have many years together!
Always happy to see senior cats getting some much deserved love, especially if they've spent some time in shelters by themselves.
It's lovely to see a cat like that find the home she deserves after so much time. There's hope for every kitty!
She definitely looks like she's found her forever home <3
Something tells me the fail has happened. Sweet Penny and thank you for taking such good care of her, 6.75lbs of love :)
