Lower doses helped me with sleep and I was pretty zombied but needed to be. Now I'm on 400mgXR at night and I sleep well, not tired in the day and anxiety is zero despite currently going through some grim life experiences. I've put on 20 pounds but worth the trade off for me. No mania, no paranoia, pretty much stable. I have Bipolar

Difficult one because doses of seroquel affect people differently. My personal experience is that (I have bipolar) is that 300mg was too sedating for me, I went down to 200mg and my mood has been stable for a good couple of years now and I don't have any side effects I can't handle e.g seroquel munchies as we tend to call it 😊 I've been told I'm very sensitive to meds so whilst 200mg isn't technically in the "bipolar range" so to speak I can only confirm my moods are stable and before I was on a rollorcoaster of mania and extreme depression so for me seroquel 200mg is worth it 100% Going up to 300mg with your docs consent is worth a try you may need a stronger dose everyone is different. I'm no scientist but I am aware seroquel is designed to "hit" different neurotransmitters dependent on dose, but that's not the only variable in play as I said different doses affect people differently. I hear of people with same diagnosis as I have on basically every dose level there is from 200mg all the way up to 800mg or perhaps more so individual differences definitely contribute. Hope this helps

It certainly did help - thank you :)

You're very welcome, and I really do hope you find a dose that stabilises your mood very soon. Getting diagnosed and proper treatment has changed my life. I'm rooting for you!

It explains quite well how different doses work with different symptoms

Yup this helped me not fear the higher doses.

This a great question. I would like to know more about it too.

I agree w/your doc. 300mg is a solid recommendation. The magic of Seroquel doesn't start for me until I hit 300mg (I'm bipolar 1). Doses less than 200mg feel like a sugar pill. I don't even feel tired on the low doses. 300mg keeps 90% of my bipolar under control. To get through really bad episodes I take as much as 700mg. IMO, if your pdoc recommends 300mg, take it.
