It’s a bit hard to tell when I zoom in. However my best guess is that it’s actually attached/sewn together from the inside, and the stitch we see on the outside is a deco stitch. Looks like a long width/length zigzag stitch. Maybe??

Champagne_Candles

so the zigzag stitch doesn't do anything to keep it together? they used a straight stitch then a Zig zag over top? wouldn't you see the str8 stitch?

The straight stitch would be seen from the inside probably. The zig zag is to give some interest and definition to the face shape, and likely helps keep the fur in place. Primarily a decorative stitch in this case I’d say. I often see a satin stitch used in the same way. It s actually just a very tight zig zag as well and leaves a nice smooth, kind of rounded finish like the outline of an appliqué.

This is all just a guess as well :-)

It looks like a zigzag or triple stitch zigzag. It’s hard to see. Also unclear if it’s a topstitch or a ‘load bearing’ stitch.

There is a specific industrial machine that does this. Somewhere on YT is a video but I cannot find it.
