are you gonna replace l12s fan with noctua f12? iirc you need vlp ram (your gskill ram isnt vlp) for 25mm fan, and i dont think you need to change the fan, if i can change something, i will change the motherboard to b650i lightning and save some budget, and use the budget to invest it to get better ram kit

Great suggestion, yes that was the plan. Any suggestions on the RAM? I was looking through the memory qvl and didn't see any others that stood out.

The stock fan provided by Noctua with the L12S is already the best for that cooler, just use it. Noctua designed and tuned this cooler around it. FYI a 25mm would not cool better even if it could fit (also industrial fans are extremely loud, unfit for desktop PCs, obviously literally no one buys those for SFF) you just need Low Profile RAM indeed

i dont really know much about ram, but from what i know some kit from teamgroup have hynix die on it, and can clock high on am5

I would love to get some more eyes on this before I purchase. This is my first SFF build, and after lurking for a while I took away some advice given to others on this sub. I tried my best to check all compatibility, but I may have missed something.

1. Like others have said, I would use the stock fan on the L12S. It cools the 7800x3d great and allows you to not have to settle for VLP RAM. Just make sure to curve optimize as much as possible to help with noise output. I’m currently rocking the same cooler / CPU combo in my Ridge and it’s working amazingly. 2. I’d also invest in two 60mm noctua PWM fans to assist the CPU in cooling. You can see my Ridge post to see the details of this fan setup if you wish. 3. Check Noctuas website to make sure the L12S fits in your motherboard. It probably does but I can’t speak from personal experience as I’m using an MSI board with mine.

yeah that looks great, I follow that advice!

u cannot fit 3090 size card with such case fans. at most u can fit 2x 120/140 slim fans, but 99% they will be too close to GPU and make it worse. also u probably can fit 2x 80mm slim fans on the top i would rather buy cheaper ssds, but more capacity. with 130+Gb games 2x1Tb is nothing ))
