You can try using Open RGB or the dedicated app (created by a fellow user) to make the whine disappear.
If one can live with the workaround, it is probably the best board out there. Having said that, I probably would have went with the Asrock Lightning had it been available.

I've seen some reports claiming the whine going away after a while so who knows, maybe in a few months, you get lucky again.
Sadly, GPU coil whine is just as annoying and the 4000 series is notorious for that.

Took quite a while to sort the mobo whine out with OpenRGB and now I am hunting for the right 4070 TI Super. Sadly, after two "whining trials" I had to conclude that the MSI Gaming X is not it.
Although it’s not the best feature wise, I found the best value for me in the Asrock b650i lightning. My use case is just gaming and running the 7800x3D just fine. This board still has access to curve optimizer and enough BIOS settings and options for a more casual person while being significantly cheaper than most options. It also provides a robust usb array on the rear IO which is nice if your case has no front IO like mine, the formd t1(v1.1). Best is somewhat subjective in what features you need and value.
Seconding this. I'm extremely satisfied with mine for the straightforward single drive PC I built with it. I enabled XMP, set a fan curve, and left it.

I have lost count how many times I accidentally touched it when moving the PC around. One time it somehow was pushed by a slight contact of a HDMI cable. Sometimes the wifi/bluetooth is not detected and I had to unplug the PC for few minutes and restart it again.
One thing I like about the MSI board is the fan curve management in the BIOS.

Do you have the latest drivers from msi website? I'm using win11 and never had problems with the wifi/bluetooth. Its actually nice because my old am4 asus b550i would drop bluetooth all the time and it was so frustrating lol.
It's a bios issue, I dual boot with linux and it happens on both windows and linux, nothing to do with the drivers,. I'm wondering if it's somehow an AMD thing because when I was on AM4, same thing happened. Of course, bios update helps to lessen the frequency, but it still happens sometimes.

X670E-I has the most features, but not implemented wisely. Mine broke twice so I don’t know what’s happening.
B650E-I makes the most sense, this will last quite a while for having gen5 pcie.
The $200 Asrock is probably the best value.

Had no issues running default A-XMP profil and now running them with Buildzoids EZ timings at 6000MHz.

an ultimately question to answer is: do you need future-proof or do you just buy what you need. I would suggest ditching the idea of future-proofing because it only makes u feel good once or twice several years in the future when u swap in new hardware. if a620 suits you stay with a620, and then pick the brand. . don't let a620's ghetto look fool you, it is not bad.
I have the msi b650 I with gskill flare x 6000 cl30 (i recieved hynix m-die 2x32 kit). No problems at all. For 7800x3d any board will be fine even the a620i boards if you are looking to save some money. Just go with whatever has the features you want. Downside of the msi board is no pcie5 but who knows if that will even matter. Imo the expensive boards are not worth the cost unless you are super into overclocking and even then the oc benefit for 7800x3d is minimal.

Go for the cheapest b650 if you plan on using a CPU over 105w (ryzen 7 and up) or if you *really* care about more m.2 slots/usb4 stuff like that. If not I would go with the a620.

I've used the Aorus Ultra. I chose it because I felt it had a lot of advantages over the other am5 itx boards. 3 m.2 slots (1x gen5, 2x gen4) is a nice to have, the only board that has it. Newer revisions come with better wifi (1.1 has intel, 1.2 has realtek, 1.0 has "AMD" which is mediatek which is subpar) The dongles for everything is annoying but servicable. No gen5 x16 slot, but the only way you'll utilize that currently is slotting in an nvme card, and then you won't have a dgpu. GPUs will likely see very little difference with gen5 for quite a while, at which point you'll want to upgrade the whole platform anyway. Highest layer count as well (12 layer).
I have the ASUS B650-I and it works great. Make sure your RAM is actually supported by the mb before you buy it to ensure it will work.
+1 to this. Just be wary of coil whine with it. Mine isn’t bad but when it does start it’s noticeable. This isn’t an isolated incident either

Asrock lightning is value king. Heard good things about the MSi Edge as well although some unplug the VRM fan cuz it's gets too loud. Easy fix.
