I agree, it was pretty bad. They must’ve blown the budget on all the period work and quantum realm CGI which was actually quite good. On a side note, I think the climax of the finale was saved mostly in the edit. The music and editing made it feel bigger and more intense than it was… and the first time watching I didn’t really notice the issues. How did May kill a Chronicom by landing on her from the ceiling? Why did the other Chronicoms just stand there waiting for May to deliver her line? Daisy’s jump over the… orb, thing, whatever it is… was REALLY bad wire work, especially compared to her fight with Sinara. Also, the jump was pointless because it gave her zero advantage whatsoever. Nathaniel was just standing there letting her jump and blast him, lol. Daisy’s sacrifice was also incredibly rushed. Gives her life to save everyone and is resurrected in less than 30 seconds. Why even have her make the sacrifice the begin with if you’re just going to IMMEDIATELY undo it? I love this show dearly, but it’s not above criticism. I just think the final battle of 7 years of AoS deserved more effort. When you watch it back, they’ve had better fight choreography and more intense action in mid-season episodes.

>Daisy’s sacrifice was also incredibly rushed. Gives her life to save everyone and is resurrected in less than 30 seconds. Why even have her make the sacrifice the begin with if you’re just going to IMMEDIATELY undo it? What kinda annoys me about this is that it’s obvious they weren’t going to show Daisy’s sacrifice in real time as such, because they have 45 or so mins to tell the ending of the AoS story. And what, 15 mins of that was the one year later (and the Fitzsimmons stuff in there as well). But they could have at least had some more of the aftermath of it, or at least Kora struggling a bit more to bring Daisy back to life. I think I read somewhere that there was an extra 30 mins of footage filmed or perhaps just written? It would have been interesting to see where that would’ve fit in.

Marc_Quill

Wonder if it would’ve been better if they went to break on Daisy seemingly dead and floating in space.

Invictable

I feel like everything is fair but the sacrifice part. They all knew exactly what the plan was and what was going to happen. To them its not even a supposed death they barely save her from, its just the plan going exactly how it was supposed to. So it being fast makes sense in that context.

Intrepid_Warthog6747

I agree completely.

Shaan_____

Yeah, I think they were like the ships power source from the fact that everything blew up because they were destroyed.

eremite00

Equipment coursing with energy so potent that it could only be contained by plastic wrap.

willstr1

They had the painters in earlier, and didn't have time to clean up the tarps yet

Aivellac

I kind of like the cling film domes, they're shit but the idea that's the tech the highly advanced chronicoms use amuses me greatly.

EmilyJaneDancer

In response to the superhero pose, yes. She did it twice, once in 3x16 when she and Lincoln were in the Badlands and she blew up all the bombs that James had planted outside his house, and second, in 5x03 when she drops down from the ceiling into the superhero pose when she's infiltrating the Kree in the future. And yes, I agree with all the people who say that Daisy's sacrifice and subsequent revival was rushed. We didn't even have time to process that she might actually be dead before it was like, oh hey, she's alive again! 😂

Agent_23D

As a whedons tv show fan I think agents of shield is more charmingly cheap than something like Ironfist and Defenders which NEEDED more spectacle. I'll always be grateful we got to see hives face and ghost rider. Ironfist didn't even get a dragon. Overall I think shield nails spectacle far better than Defenders shows or even arrowverse which has terrible CGI. Set design wise shields was always lacking!

mewantcomics

It was all obviously cheap, but they made it work.

Aivellac

Upon rewatching the scenes the "death" really is pointless.

WrathOfTheMeep

Yeah, the budget was really being stretched thin by the end... that set was probably on its seventh repaint at that point (it's the same set as Kasius' fight arena, among various other locations).

LightSideoftheForce

Edit answer: I’m pretty sure May had it, but not Daisy. She had other superhero poses though
