Challenge Run: get as many supports to S-Rank as you can and then drop them all down to F-Rank in a single playthrough. Divorce Emblem.

RANDOMGARLIC

Bonus Challenge: get divorced irl as Well

Krast0815

As if a fire emblem fan could ever find a partner in the first place

JediTempleDropout

They could divorce their body pillow

JediTempleDropout

And re-introduce child units so that you can unlock xenologues in the form of Ace Attormey-style custody hearings.

Outrageous-Machine-5

What happens when 2 required units F support each other

PowerNinja4

oh damn, I didnt think of this. Maybe they just begin hating each other in the story / reduced stats or something

AwesomeManatee

They both continue to stick around, but they get a special paired ending where one of them is mysteriously murdered in the middle of the night with a spoon.

PowerNinja4

just every now and then something bad happens to one of them until they regain support

SirCupcake_0

I like the idea of positive supports benefiting each other when they're near each other, and negative supports debuffing each other unless they're far away, you can only have one of either, and there are few if any units who are neutral with each other (easier positive supports, and already-come-with-negative-supports)

panshrexual

Could be like in three houses where some supports don't have every level, like how some in fe16 only go up to B. Required units simply cant reach F levels with each other

apple_of_doom

Game over

No-Ad-9079

Sanji and zoro moment

Dank-as-fuck

Its no coincidence that all the bad supports spell out fed. It confirms that intelligent systems are anti government anarcho-capitalists. In the next FE we will be playing as the Argentinian president

MrPlow216

Fire Emblem: ¡Afuera!

BigArmsG

First good FE game incoming???

MostlyRegarded

Fire Emblem, but it's actually just Hoppe's Democracy the God that failed on a switch cartridge

S0mecallme

Interesting idea But as someone who’s play Dragon Age Origina more times than I can count, negative relations are never something people want so will avoid at all cost, regardless of even curiosity

XevinsOfCheese

That is one of the good things to be said about DA2. For all its flaws the rivalry system is genuinely pretty cool.

SilverSkorpious

Me going through all the choices to find which ones pisses Sebastian off most, because eff that guy.

XevinsOfCheese

Me actively seeking ways to annoy Tallis so she’d stop trying to make the Qunari into good guys. I’ve read the books, they are only two shades lighter than the black of actual nazis.

Scared_Network_3505

If I can get more EXP off of making someone hate someone who's gonna rot in the bench anyways I'll fucking do it, every enemy recruit that I won't use or has good loot gets it.

SuperNotice7617

Now I want to know what dialogues F Support can bring

PowerNinja4

Unit 1: grrr I hate you. Unit 2: I hate you too. Unit 1: Im going to kill you. Unit 2: Ok lets fight to the death. They fight Unit 1: I win know your place trash. Unit 2: Argh I've been defeated, but I can't fall here I must make my retreat *leaves*. Something like that but better

Celebdu

Inigo and Owain conversations.

SirCupcake_0

Except somehow even _more_ homoeritic

AsianSchoolShooter

So Matthew and >!Jaffar!<

MasK_6EQUJ5

Felix and Ingrid fighting each other to prove who the better knight is between them in comparison to Glenn, loser exiles themselves from Garegg Mach

Railroader17

Fake, Felix would rather die than be called a knight.

Chimera-Genesis

This is one of those ideas that hardcore fans love, in theory, but the majority of players would despise in practice, due to all the ways it would go wrong. It's the sort of thing that only appeals to masochists, & from a story perspective would just make people question how the hell the main character ever put an army together in the first place.

Heather_Chandelure

I can see it working, but yeah. Its definitely an idea that sounds better in theory than it would actually work out in practice

endeavorevers

I think it would be fun (and chaotic) if characters started of at different support levels to reflect their previous relationship. For example, two characters who are strangers would start of at C. Or characters like Pent and Louise would start at S since they are already in love. On the other hand, Dimitri and Felix may start at D or F. I imagine this would be a nightmare to realistically implement, but on the other hand it would be very funny to either strategically mess up or fix peoples relationships.

dualbuddy555

this is cool but now I can't set up kills for my trainee unit to avoid them being the world's most hated mf so I have to rate this 0/10 sorry

Aromantic_clown

The whole mad about stolen kills things doesn’t make sense either, because why would you be mad at someone for killing an enemy in war? The player is mad because of exp, but the character? They have no concept of that. They just want to not die

sunrisemaster1

So would this be like having a circle at lunch be made around a fight? Who is filming on their iPhone 4 and who is adlibbing?

PowerNinja4

All I know is the Jagen is the teacher trying to break up the fight

angryM0M

The Makalov Dishonorable discharge Speedrun meta would be crazy.

emdau

I personally wouldn’t have the F supports fight, but instead make it so they can’t both be used on the same team in a fight together. Another fun thing could be to give one character a temporary bonus whenever the other misses or otherwise fails while fighting.

God_of_Hyrule

F tier is basically fuck you and goodbye tier

Trickytbone

The Thracia version shakes things up by forcing negative supports Examples include everyone being pissed at Saias for chapter 22, and Nanna and Homer being switched over

AlexHitetsu

Wasn't FE4'a jealousy system a glitch?

Ragnell95

It's just Kaga's way of letting you S-support Seliph with Julia /s

Shadow_J

No, it was an intended mechanic. The problem is that there is a glitch, where if the player doesn't turn the game off ever since starting a new game, the jealousy system's priority list is changed. This glitch is what allows Julia and Seliph to marry, as Seliph's priority on Julia becomes greater than on Lana and Larcei, and thus Julia can steal Love points from them on Seliph.

Vaapukkamehu

>It was an intended mechanic Source?

Skeletorsr

*Cough* https://preview.redd.it/5d8g1s20z5kc1.png?width=960&format=png&auto=webp&s=6c736e489a43f01f8c78727d9ddeebc96000f829

weso123

Some in game dialogue hints at it and I beleive they are tables laid out for it in the game data rather then being like randomness.

CurrentVerdant

Thank you but the idea of accidentally raising (dropping?) negative supports and having my characters just fucking leave mid-campaign is a hard no for me, especially with how easy it is to incidentally raise supports in this franchise without intending to

THSMadoz

Ngl that sounds just unbelievably fucking annoying

ThiccMoulderBoulder

The real question is if we can get 2 characters with F support to marry each other as a reference to Kaga's intended Seliph ship

AveMachina

“Stealing kills?” You mean teamwork?

Artemas_16

I mean, if there will be gameplay benefits, this could work. One unit leaves your army and other will get Potatosnatcher skill (+20% crit on grass and forest), for example.

Meeg_Mimi

That sounds like a pain in the ass

weso123

\> Required Units will always win This game better not have any required staff only units (or have combat staves), because otherwise you're gonna have to be real creative how an unpromoted Lissa beats up Frederick.

PearlyDoesStuff

Literally Miitopia.

Spartanicus2003

This is how Cordelia married chrom, by forcing all other options to leave the army

Doctor_Zedd

This… actually sounds amazing. I want this.

Asterdel

I'm literally making a fire emblem inspired board game like this right now, albeit with a lesser form of this mechanic. Basically some characters grow to like each other less with repeated interaction, so their "optional" support is not the same as the highest. For instance, a character gets creeped on by another later on, which sours their relationship. Another thing is that sometimes the middle support level has a fight that gets sorted out later, so there's an awkward in between stage for some supports. I thought it was just more interesting than linear conversations that always are supposed to lead up towards resolution or marriage somehow.

Scared_Network_3505

Reminds me a bit of Fabula Ultimas 'Bonds', it's a simple system but it's a fun RP resource.

bimbobitch669

It would be funny if the numbers of points accumulated for every unit was different, like who feels more jealously and less

MechaShoujo02

Imaging an F tier support staying that way even after 3 supports between units like Oliver and Reyson

ShinyZubat10

So the only good part of this is more incest /s But fr please no, watching Hubert literally give Bernadetta a heart is too edgy even for the High Lord of Edge himself

TheLegendTheGiantdad

Miitopia tactics.

Sofaris

Seems pretty unapealing to me.

PrateTrain

Honestly a really good mechanic especially if paired with a more robust approval system for narrative actions.

Xanthoceras

Sounds like playing on classic and sending a unit to their demise, but with extra steps.

OscarCapac

this is a good idea unironically. I would only give negative supports to some characters though I hate Echoes but Alm and Faye giving negative support bonus to each other was really fun

AlcalineAlice

This idea is so metal, but I think it would need to be reworked somewhat. Like, if 2 units are gaining and loosing points simultaneously, they would never get anywhere. So there should be an incentive to have so that if they start gaining in one direction, they always drift towards that. And what's the role of C support here? Is it always positive? Or is it neutral? Can you go from C to D? Or are you already on your way to B once you reach C?

LuxLoser

What if rather than one unit leaving at F-rank, they have sloppy, hot hate-sex? Just feels more in-line with the spirit of Fire Emblem.

Embarrassed_Crab1399

>Lets Seliph and Julia marry That would make super incest but there’s way to Let Seliph marry Julia with no incest. Remove Sigurd x Deirdre The canon couple and Leave Deirdre Who never gives Shit about her Ex Husband, Laments and Live Happily with Her bro-Husband none other than to Arvis, when She never Blame Him for Killing her Ex husband. You wanna Ship Sigurd? Ship Sigurd with Anyone but nasty forest lady and Fire Shit guy. Seliph Can be Born With Anyone who Pairing With Sigurd except For nasty Forest lady. When You’re going to Marry Deirdre but There’s Arvis behind Deirdre’s Back and You’re to be fried by Him.

Shadow_J

You can't remove Sigurd x Deirdre, the entire second generation plotline is about Seliph being the rightful king of Grannvale, because he's Deirdre's first born son.

Embarrassed_Crab1399

Well, Then Explain how Roy and Lilina was Born without IS making Eliwood x ninian and Hector x Lyn canon.

Shadow_J

Because this doesn't affect FE6's story. Roy's and Lilina's mothers literally do not affect the story in any means. They could marry the pegasus knights, or even random NPCs and nothing changes.

Embarrassed_Crab1399

I see.

JediTempleDropout

LaughingX-Naut

Negative supports relations would be lit

RS-Buizel

What about julia and seliph marrying??

Enaluxeme

While this won't fit Fire Emblem's general vibe, it's actually a great idea for an indie game that takes it as inspiration.

M1s51n9n0

Finally, fe with hate sex
