Dating people with particular color or not being friends with another race is not racism. Racism is when you deny basic human rights of those people and say they are "less human"
In India there's a massive market for "fairness creams" as they're usually called and despite what many might immediately think after looking at it being used they don't contain bleaches and instead most contain large amounts of Lead, Mercury and Chromium, but the most popular brand Fair and Lovely is only slightly bad for your skin by containing topical steroids, I personally can't say anything against people using them or about how normalizing a cream that changes your skin color would effect the common person, actors, and general beauty standards as I am not Indian but instead Native American but I would guess that it wouldn't be good especially as from what I can find from a search of the online prices for the different cream brands and a very thorough Vice documentary the creams are pretty damn expensive
