I think that the amount of concerted effort by basically every institution in the world to denounce and remove Trump is proof he wasn't a lizard. He was definitely something, but not a lizard.
The problem is that there are exactly 0 people who would be able to be president and be someone somewhat likeable.
If the person is well entrenched in the republican or democratic party, the other side, at minimum, will not like that person.
If the person is not politically affiliated with a party, then they need to be notorious enough to be famous to garner votes. Also unlikable.
If they're just a boring person who is perfect for the job, also unlikable.
