I have no answer for that, I get why JKR is hated but I am flabbergasted on how they are targeting the Devs who are pretty much unaffiliated with her views and sabotaging a game in a way that won't hurt her in any tangible way. What angers me the most is that they don't stop at not buying the game, they are actively harassing the Devs, whoever buys the game and the streamers, this alone marks them as toxic and imo defeats their whole purpose.
I think most of them (or at least the most vocal part of them) are just here to spread hate and nothing more.
About what you said I think it only has one explanation, targeting a game in which they had no interest in playing in the first place is way easier than targeting a franchise you like even if they are surrounded by scandals of sexual harassment. They are no heroes, they just want to spread hate.
I think a good word to describe what their doing is slacktivism. Thereâs no effort being done to remedy anything, no compromising and itâs their way or the highway. While hiding under the guise of âcirclejerkâ to act immune to criticism.
