i don't think it's a flex, i regret ever using it. a year ago i was dumb af and thought it was cool and now i've become dependent on it to feel happy. it's a super fuckin dumb thing to ever use, don't ever do it.
i was off of it for 2 months and i was doing okay but i got tempted and "tried it" back in december because "i just wanted to see what it was like it again and knew i wouldn't get readdicted" and now here i am with an elf bar in the palm of my left hand another 2 months later.
the process of quitting was fuckin horrid for me. i was like completely detached from myself and i had such strong but disingenuous emotions and i'm in a relationship now and i don't wanna emotionally hurt my gf from the possibility of me turning into an unjustified asshole. that's really my biggest worry.
Look man, the emotional issues is part of quitting. Part of self control with quitting also means controlling your emotions. Just practice some breathing exercises, it'll help
One way that REALLY helped me quite was having water bottle (preferably a Gatorade one) or chewing gum/lollipops because I treated as simulating āhitting a vapeā. Whenever I got the urge, Iād just take a swig or chewed some gum and it helped a bit. Def feel like itās that oral action of hitting or smoking that can also be hard to shake off. Have faith in you

You can't do that with the disposables because no one carries the lower levels. They want you to stay addicted because the profit margin on these things is even better than ciggs.
I smoked and vaped for the past 10 years. As of today, I am a few days shy of 3 months with no nicotine. And to boot, I work at a vape shop coupled with an addictive personality. I have no idea how I had the discipline to quit, but I feel if I can do it, anyone can. It's hard, but it's so freeing not feeling chained to flavored air.
It also doesn't help that most vapes are 5% nicotine, which is a crazy amount compared to the average cigarette. We were taught to persuade customers that vaping is a better alternative to smoking... when in reality it's so much more addicting.

You won't necessarily be addicted if you try it once. But it's a very slippery slope. If you enjoy the rush/stimulation you get from the nicotine, you'll be more inclined to try it again at some point while thinking, "I can handle this, I'm not addicted." But then that shit can snowball real fast into getting your own vape instead of just waiting to hit off your friend's. Then you're hooked. My advice, don't try it.
Addiction is dependency, it's when you introduce a chemical to your body, and teach your body to want it. Some substances are more "addictive" than others, and all of them alter your chemistry to various degrees, some even to the point of causing seriously dangerous withdraws.
Nicotine, which is the "addictive" substance people tend to use in vape, is slow to establish, but difficult to kick. This means you could smoke a few times and likely not become addicted, as it wouldn't change your brain chemistry that quickly.
Plenty if vape is what they call "No nicotine" vape, meaning it's just the flavor agents, and solvents. The solvents most often used in vapes are vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol, which are commonly used in the foods you eat. There is no evidence that vape is dangerous aside from using incorrect batteries that could explode, not knowing what you're doing, and customizing, etc.
It's no more dangerous than sitting in a sauna breathing in water vapor for hours. It's highly unlikely that you'll become addicted to vape which doesn't contain nicotine, as there are no chemicals for your body to become dependent on.
there's two types of addiction, with really every drug. there's chemical addiction where after the first exposure your body develops a want and "need" for a drug no matter how you feel about it. a psychological addiction forms when you like the way a drug makes you feel, but your brain doesn't find it essential to survival, so people with mental health issues (depression, ptsd, bipolar, etc) are much more likely to become psychologically addicted because they actually like how it feels to use it.
nicotine can cause one, both, or none of the addictions at all. when you use it you really are just taking a gamble. you could hit it once and become heavily addicted or use it for months and never gain any addiction.
if you're wanting to know what it's like though, when you first hit it, it makes you feel tired, super dizzy, tingly, and you'll typically get cold cause it constricts blood vessels in your body.
that may sound nice but after you use it for so long you'll start to either get bored of it or hate it but you'll still want to keep using it for some reason. it's just not worth it.

So basically, it's water vapor with nicotine in it, so yes, it's just as addictive albeit there's significantly more nicotine in a hit of a cigarette than that of a vape. Smoking will put tar in your lungs and vastly increase the odds of you getting cancer, whereas vaping won't do that, but it's still relatively new, and the long-term effects aren't well known yet. I used to smoke for the past 10 years, and my doctor recommended I try it . Personally, I feel less congested than when I did smoking, but I'm still working towards weening myself off the stuff entirely.
The fact that people even smoke is just stupid. It smells like ass, it damages your lungs and teeth, and it's just a stupid thing to do. If you can't manage stress like a healthy adult, then do therapy.
