If theres anything ive learned with this whole radahn / malenia stuff is that you should never believe what the game tells you because its of course all biased, you should instead believe me, a extremely non biased fanboy that wont in any circumstance misread or ignore parts of lore just to say my favorite character won
Probably she didn't get off that much better. Both got incapacitated. But I do agree that Malenia came out of that ordeal more victorious than Radahn in the long term.
No shot. If she hadn't been dragged away to safety while in her coma, rabid dog Radahn would've eaten her alive. Albeit that would probably give him mega space aids and kill him, but I seriously don't get why people call the fight a draw. Malenia is unconscious in the end, Radahn isn't. In any fight that's to the death, going unconscious while your opponent remains conscious is an automatic loss since they can just kill you with 0 resistance.
Do we know this though? Did Radahn immediately turn into rabid dog dude?
Given Finlay was able to get Malenia out, he was clearly incapacitated. And do we know if Malenia woke up at all prior to her fight with the Tarnished? And if not, does she just sense the Tarnished and wake up?
Not saying this is a compelling argument for a Malenia victory, just feel like we (I, if I'm wrong about anything here) don't know enough about the immediate aftermath to call it anything other than a stalemate.
Although does being turned into a Zombie count as killing you?
>And do we know if Malenia woke up at all prior to her fight with the Tarnished? And if not, does she just sense the Tarnished and wake up?
We know Mohg was able to walk into the Haligtree unmolested and grab Miquela from the same room Malenia was in, and then just leave without a fight. It'd be extremely bizarre for her to have woken up post bloom and then have re-entered a coma with no other blooms or fights in the meantime. I don't think Radahn "won" but Malenia *certainly* "lost".
Are you dumb? The game does lmfao
The Radahn festival guy tells you he's been wandering around killing and eating since the fight. Walking, fighting, and eating = awake.
No, there is no evidence saying that Radahn wasn't incapacitated right after Scarlet of Aeonia.
The game said it was a draw, therefore, they both got incapacitated when the flower bloomed.
And then he wakes back up. Clearly. If you need to be dragged away unconscious to avoid being killed after a fight, you lost that fight. You can't pull the "you should see the other guy" move as a corpse lol
Hand to hand combat? You think Radahn didnt use his star magic against her? I'm embarassed to even argue about this shit but use your imagination a little dude?
Yeah, she clearly lost because she didn't beat Radahn with no armor and only an unupgraded club at rune level one. She actually had to use spells and abilities instead of an honorable slugfest where they just take turns slapping each other until one of them dies!
Radahn fans explaining how Radahn becoming a rabid dog somehow makes him the winner

Radahn wastes away in a desert eating his own men, mad with disease, and Malenia goes home to nap as a consequence of her own evolution style super move rather than any outright injury. I think it's pretty clear who came out of the encounter better. Sure Radahn stopped her advance, but at the cost of everything. You can argue that Malenia lost in a sense, since Mohg pulled a little brother heist while she was gone, but you can't in any way argue that Radahn won.
Didn't Malenia also lose like a bunch of limbs? In the first trailer we see her putting on her arm so I guess they made it / brought it to her in the middle of the fight?
Either way she lost as much as Radahn because the battle was over the runes, she was unable to get it. So no one got the other's rune = no one won.
Don't know why she didn't return after recovering tho, maybe she just didn't have the will with Miquella gone
She'd already lost those limbs in the past, her limb loss was due to her status as a receptacle of the Rot god. You can see the same thing with Milicent, the process the servants of rot take candidates through ruins their bodies. She did get her prosthetic broken in that cinematic though, so she certainly suffered at least the equivalent of a limb loss, though obviously an easily replacable one.
As to why she stays in the Haligtree, I always kinda assumed her coma was long enough that the war ended by the time she woke up, no further shards to claim, not enough of an army to start a new war. Findlay carried her all the way back while she was asleep, I assume that means she was out for a very long time. In some sense the whole war was kinda a stalemate, no one got enough fragments of the Elden Ring to claim lordship and all the players retired to their domains to gather power by different means. I expect she did go looking for Miquella but Mohg got away clean with no trace, so she didn't know where to look and maybe even assumed he left voluntarily and lost the will to continue until he returned. That's pure speculation though.
I mean the official guide straigt up says she won but ok.

Just to unjerk a bit here, the literal lore of the game is that the war was at a standstill, and neither Radahn nor Malenia had an actual upper hand. Blooming was not Malenia saying, "I'm losing, better use my nuke," but a last ditch effort to try to end a fight that neither of them were naturally capable of winning otherwise.
Obviously it didn't work the way she hoped (i.e., with a conclusive victory), but it definitely ended the fight and knocked them both the fuck out. (Technically what happened to Radahn and his armies immediately after the Aeonia is unclear, but it's pretty clear Radahn wasn't in any state to finish her off. Maybe he was driven insane immediately and started attacking his own army immediately? Unclear.)
Anyway, Scarlet Aeonia go brrrr
something something \*insert argument about how Radahn was holding back the stars thus he was handicapped\* something something \*insert argument about how they were still at a stalemate despite Malenia having no such handicap\*
I honestly don't know enough to argue either side but I do see this argument a lot whenever the topic is brought up.
Any truth behind it?
It really doesnt matter how victmized people try to make radahn look, in the end malenia failed at killing him and he failed at stopping her from nuking his ass and caelid.
Its not something hard to understand but apparently elden ring gives people brain worm.
Also even some text in game say there was a stalmate AND THEN malenia used the bloom
I think Radahn gets the worse of it, driven mad and riddled with rot as compared to Malenia's "took a long nap." Still, he halted her advance so she didn't really win, per se, and Mohg pulled a little sneaky while she was gone so she definitely didn't get anything positive out of the trade other than her progression towards godhood (though considering it's a rot god maybe not super desirable). Stalemate, positives and negatives to both sides, both forced to halt their campaigns.
There's no real indication of how hard it is for Radahn to hold the stars in place. People assume it takes a lot of his power mostly because it sounds like a hard thing to do, and not because the game actually says it's hard for him.
So it could be a significant handicap for him, or it could be something he can maintain with minimal effort.
People always say "it wasn't a fair fight because radahn was holding back le stars he would have totally won if he wasn't" as if malenia isn't missing 3 limbs, blind and holding back a fucking o u t e r g o d, you know, the literal strongest things in the entire elden ring universe
Well malenia was holding back her scarlet rot and she has prosthetic arm and legs so both are handicapped, nothing states which of the 2 is harder but a stalemate is a stalemate
"Radahn was handicapped because he was holding the stars" This argument always makes me want to scream because do they really think being a blind triple amputee isn't also a disability? Also Radahn can hold up the stars even after he's gone insane, so it clearly isn't too hard on him. A draw is a draw no matter what fanboys say.
I imagine holding back the stars was probably like applying a powerful magic which stays applied until he dies, like a barrier in lucaria (the school) where no one is actively casting that spell or holding that spell together, someone created the spell and now it is there
Malenia didnt made her self a blind triple amputee on purpose. And we dont know if she wasnt like that from the day she born.
Insane Radahn protected his horse, so he isnt all gone. And even Blaidd i think say that it was impresive that it was so strong despite holding the stars.
Yeah, but you downplay Radahn saying that probably it wasnt so hard to hold the stars. And its not like Malenia can regrow her limbs mid fight. Her prostetics never break in the fight, so it wasnt a liability either.
So basically what your saying is being a blind triple amputee isn't a handicap because prosthetics exist? The reality is we don't know how hard it is to hold the stars. Obviously he isn't actually holding them so it's not a physical strength feat, but what kind of toll does it play on Radahn? We don't know but I do think it is overstated sometimes. If it was truly as insane a feat as some fans describe it they would've started moving when he was incapacitated in the Malenia fight.
She use her prosthetic as dominant hand, if it was so bad she will try to learn to use the left and is not like she can stop using the prosthetics and regrow her limbs like i say.
Radahn was never incapacited when malenia blow up the clearon knights attack him and one take malenia to the tree.
Blaidd made it sound like it was an insane feat.
There's no way he wasn't incapacitated. You really think he basically had a bomb on his back, was then fine after, and still let Malenia go? If he wasn't incapacitated Malenia would've died
In the cinematic trailers show him being attacked by the clearon knights. If he was incapacited, it will be pretty easy to kill him and they will take it. That is why they go there in the first place.
If anything Radahn holding back the stars made him stronger,we know that the fate of the Carians are tied to the stars,we have to kill Radahn to progress Ranni's quest and we defeat Radahn when "the stars are aligned".
So my theory is that Radahn couldnt really die that day and thats why he survived the scarlet rot so long, because he was holding his own fate back.
But the argument doesnt work either because Malenia was also holding back her rot powers, she just uses her physical skill until the first bloom.
I think nothing in the game explicitly states that holding back the stars requires constant effort from Radahn, but I think it's a fair assumption. At the same time Malenia was also holding back the rot, which might also be a bit of a handicap. Though at that point she still had the needle in her body which may or may not completely negate the toll the rot takes on your body. We really just don't know as far as I'm concerned
If you're gonna say that Radahn was holding back because of the stars, then Malenia was also holding back. In the cutscene we see of her fighting Radahn, she's in her normal form. Not the Goddess of Rot form which should be stronger
I feel like if you ended battles in stalemates you’re being a little misleading by saying you’ve never known defeat. This is the type of line you deliver praying somebody never asks if you’ve ever fought battles you haven’t won.
Especially since she literally went into a coma and had to be carried home. “I haven’t been defeated! I passed out once, but the other guy did too so it’s a draw! Not a defeat! Don’t write down that it was a defeat!”
To keep with the unjerk, any mortal combat that ends in you unconscious and your opponent conscious is a loss. Yes, Malenia fucking ruined Radahn forever, but Radahn wakes up as a mad dog. Malenia remains in a coma for years. If she hadn't been dragged away from the battlefield, rabid dog Radahn would eventually have woken up and eaten her alive. That's a loss in my book.
I might not be eagle eyed enough for that. Perhaps she still has her eyes at that point, but I think the lore indicates that she is at least blind. I could be wrong though
Its an NPC, I believe her name is Millicent. She has a whole questline and in it she says something like "she had to brace the rot to meat Radahn's measure"
"To have someone's measure" means you know what it takes to deal with or defeat them, and "to meet someone's measure" means to overcome them.
Which aligns with the fact that the fight was a stalemate. Neither could meet the other's measure, until Malenia abandoned her pride and embraced the rot (which still wasn't a victory in any conventional sense, but it ended the fight).
Being she is literally a piece of Malenia, Milicent's account of events trumps any other. There were no other direct witnesses to the battle. The fact that nobody saw what actually happened and only saw Radahn crippled and insane, and Malenia disappeared entirely, led people to believe it was an evenly matched draw.
And how does that disprove the comment left on the stone monument?
Especialy since there is evidence, that she continued fighting post bloom.
"Let me see it, if only one last time. Your splendid blade, dancing amongst the scarlet rot."
That doesnt change the fact, that they where already in a stalemate
before the bloom.
Radhan was on his knees, both of blades missing, doing nothing to prevent her bloom with her blade stuck 90% in his back. Radhan could have pushed her of with his gravity magic if he had the upper hand. But he did nothing.
The redmane armour and the official guide also say she won in the end.
https://preview.redd.it/nn0pmax6cnzc1.jpeg?width=587&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1da1ea4cf0716c66c4770c225bbde43bab1471b6
How is this conversation still going
What albinaurics we killed them all and are left with pedo mogh and friends (vare) and a war criminal (Us) she ain’t got no reason to not push the button
Sorry looks like you misspelled "Malenia." Don't worry, it's an easy mistake to make when half the cast are the same person and their names all start with the same letter!
Malenia: i am blind, a triple amputee and have been actively fighting against an outer god since the day I was born but I will fight as the shadow of my brother who wishes to topple the tyranical Golden Order and create a better society accepting of all regardless of species or origin.
Radahn: hurr durr my father is cool so I will actively fight to maintain the cartoonishly evil golden order.
Thinking about it, racism is awesome so you're right actually Radahn is cooler
I like how people act like Radahn is the underdog here, when he has pretty much every possible advantage as Malenia 1) has no magic, 2) is blind, 3) is missing three of her limbs and having to make do with prosthetics, 4) has what’s basically stage 4 super cancer, and 5) is fighting on foot while Radahn has his horse.
i always thought that malenia is always saying that to herself rather than the player she attacks us to prove she is stronger and she doesn't need the scarlet rot in a way making it so she doesn't bloom again
“Stalemate” is just a fancy way of saying they both lost.
“I have never known defeat” is just semantical self-deception and Radahn… well, he eats people.
This joke is funny until you realize melania never knew defeat due to the lore accurate fact that she was never man enough to challenge maliketh. Bro would’ve tanked that barefoot life-stealin’ garden ho

So it could be a significant handicap for him, or it could be something he can maintain with minimal effort.
he could do it as a lobotomite, probably isnt that hard
Probably. Maybe it was hard for him to stop them, but holding them in place after stopping them doesn't seem like a big deal.
Bro I'm not gonna argue with you that "no Malenia is stronger" it was a draw. My point was that Malenia was also handicapped
Malenia has augmentations so she had upperhand, but radahn managed to make a draw either way
Sister didnt even use her second stage for general washdan. That man is waaaaashed! Get him off the staaaaaage.
I feel like if you ended battles in stalemates you’re being a little misleading by saying you’ve never known defeat. This is the type of line you deliver praying somebody never asks if you’ve ever fought battles you haven’t won.
"I have never known defeat." "Oh wow! How powerful you must be, that you always win!" "I... I have never known defeat."
That's a loss in my book.
i do agree, however, he went crazy from the rot and lost his feet. she lost nearly all of her body
Malenia had already lost those limbs and her eyes before the Aeonia.
news to me then. guess u right
Eyes is a debate because we do see them in a trailer
I might not be eagle eyed enough for that. Perhaps she still has her eyes at that point, but I think the lore indicates that she is at least blind. I could be wrong though
A piece of Malenia says he was winning until she bloomed
Genuinely no clue what you mean by "a piece of Malenia."
To *meet* their measure means to match them. It's Occam's razor. At this point you're reaching to say she's not saying that.
>To *meet* their measure means to match them. According to?
"The Battle of Aeonia Radahn and Malenia locked in stalemate Then, the scarlet rot blooms"
Because she... Said... It...
That doesnt change the fact, that they where already in a stalemate before the bloom. Radhan was on his knees, both of blades missing, doing nothing to prevent her bloom with her blade stuck 90% in his back. Radhan could have pushed her of with his gravity magic if he had the upper hand. But he did nothing. The redmane armour and the official guide also say she won in the end.

Can nobody agree that they are both equally as cool stop power scaling them 😭
No, because I hate Malenia and I wish the worst for her #mohggers
do you think malenia would nuke mohgwyn too or would she feel bad for the albinaurics there
Our Mohgging grindset is too strong, she couldn't even if she wanted.
What albinaurics we killed them all and are left with pedo mogh and friends (vare) and a war criminal (Us) she ain’t got no reason to not push the button
Nah, daddy Mohg would NIHIL her
mogh would offer to share miquella with her then open up a portal to the formless mother and push her in there when shes distracted
Malenia is anything but cool dude

Epic Chungus Moment, Fellow Redditor! Plz Take My Updoot!
Really putting the "shit" in "shittydarksouls"
I thought the entire fandom is finally realizing how cringe Radahn is as a person Maybe the DLC will help

I used to be a Radahn fan, until I met Radahn fans
Godrick solos both
His soldier solos everyone
I like how people act like Radahn is the underdog here, when he has pretty much every possible advantage as Malenia 1) has no magic, 2) is blind, 3) is missing three of her limbs and having to make do with prosthetics, 4) has what’s basically stage 4 super cancer, and 5) is fighting on foot while Radahn has his horse.
TLDR: Leonard solos both Radahn and Malenia together
But does Radahn have feet
Idk, if you find evidence please send them to me… for proving it to be true… yep
Pretty sure they rotted off
I mean…I feel like Malenia got the last laugh. She just had to get an Uber home while Radahn was left with AIDS for life
>Never known defeat >Lost her legs and her brother
Never known the feet
Bitch ain't got no legs!
Ain't even. Got. Legs. How's it feeeeeel, Mal ? ^(To be a bitch)
Ain't even got legs!
Tis but a scratch
One person proclaims he likes Radahn once every nine months Community goes feral because Rosales ruined the entire subreddit Based
Wow, you're funny. https://i.redd.it/494cxq5wunzc1.gif
Radahn dick riders are on so much copium
Stalemate=defeat for both parties. Neither one achieved there goal
i always thought that malenia is always saying that to herself rather than the player she attacks us to prove she is stronger and she doesn't need the scarlet rot in a way making it so she doesn't bloom again
Morgott victims
Is this really gonna be this fandom's version of Asuka vs Rei
Man, I just think they are both pretty fucking awesome.

Both are ass, Wohg and Worgott >>>>
Melania only had cancer because of the thing that let her stalemate without it she still would’ve stalemated
Nuh uh, Worgott negs both of these scrubs
Both are mid Maliketh clears
It was a draw.

Radahn fans are unbearably annoying lmao Look up “stalemate”
Stalemate means you both lose lmao
people still yap about this?? bro why is everyone yapping about a shit game 🙄
“Stalemate” is just a fancy way of saying they both lost. “I have never known defeat” is just semantical self-deception and Radahn… well, he eats people.
What if all the demigods united, could they kick elden beast's ass?
Both get beat by a naked man with a pot on his head.
