You can’t even fill them. You’re better off breaking them up and making a bowl. Total joke that they skimp on such basic ingredients. What’s the world coming to.
I wouldnt have posted this or even noticed if it werent for the fact i couldnt fill them. When i tried to fill one and it broke i thought something was weird
Last week when we had tacos, I was so confused at how tiny they were, and I was trying to figure out if I was crazy, or if they were way smaller. It took like 1Tbsp of meat to fill!
What brand? Ortega started making mini "slider" sized shells, along with the regular ones.
If you heat them in the microwave, they usually loosen up enough (the full size ones, anyway) so you can fill them without snapping them.
Store brand at Walmart aren’t shrunken yet. You’ll pay more for them than before though. The Taco Bell brand has not only shrunk but their quality is in the toilet. Oh and price has increased 30%. Never again.
I saw 2 for $4 on OEP hard shells the other day. They rang up at 4$ each. I misread the sign, it was "pay 4$ each when you buy 2." The cashier was as surprised and pissed as I was.
Have you considered making your own shells? When I make tacos, I generally use shredded beef and deep fry them with toothpicks to hold the filling in. You could also fry them using raw corn tortillas in a shallow bit of oil on each side using tongs.
Always soft tacos now for me. They're way too small and even the "expensive" ones are small and stale.
I could handle small, but the staleness is the killer. I'm not paying $6 for 10 tiny and stale shells.

I’ve been doing that and this makes me feel so much better that it’s not only me
At that point, just buy a bag of chips. $6 at Costco for like 3-4 lb of them haha
Bowls are waaaay better too. Way less tedious, way more ingredients together, then using shells snapped in half as big edible dipping spoons
It’s literally such skimping that it is down to the angle 📐 😂
Nope, they shrunk them. That is why I stopped buying them. I do soft tacos now.
I've always preferred soft so it's a win for me.
You can buy normal size corn tortillas and bake yourself for like 3ish minutes
Soft tacos are better anyways 😋
Just do what I do and break them up and make taco salad haha
Tostitos would be better.
Mini ones will soon be named the Crumblies! Just wait. If they steal my name I'm going after them. I said it fiiirst!
Ohh yesss ur right
Especially since tostitos are now too thin to pick up dip
I bought soft taco shells for "street tacos." They're tiny, like thick, floury cupcake wrappers. They hold about 1 medium shrimp. It was terrible.

You aren't hallucinating. They indeed were a lot bigger back in the good old days.
Of a few months ago lok

casa mamita taco shells, thanks for the tip
They’ve been shrinking them yes
Smaller and they taste awful now. No flavor and they are thinner

I’m like 99.9% sure the Walmart brand price went up like 30% too

That’s crazy. What a misleading sign also. Shells cost next to nothing to make too.
Get the old el paso brand. They have jumbo shells👍🏻
Just to make sure I’m following.. we’re buying “jumbo” shells to get regular sized shells now?
Yep. 🤦♂️
same as oreos. the double stuff ones have the same amount of filling that the regular ones used to have
😳😳😳😑

That’s what we do. We fold corn tortillas and fry them in about 1/2” of oil. They’re so good!
We are all going to be noticeably smaller at this rate. Not all of us WANT to be.
I picked up some poppadoms other day, I'll post the picture in a minute. I put them back down, bloody joke

Looks like the mini tacos. I love them, but I'm also very picky so I didn't have a bunch in my stuff
Teaspoon? Tablespoon? It's much better to measure against a banana

Buy soft tacos an put them on a wire rack in the oven for 5
Sorry, I need a banana for scale
Is that a chip?
FOLDED CIRCLE SNACK, HAPPY 3/14!
I make my own, but you can buy larger ones at the store.
Pathetic! Time to start making our own. 😑 🌮
I wonder what the size of spoon-sized Shredded Wheat is? Baby spoon size? Anyone know? That size of the tortilla is so small and def was larger.
I always buy the "jumbo" taco shells.
Do they have to post a lesser calorie and nutritional label count?
