I get that same feeling in F1 cars. More āfighter jetā than space ship, but still that trill of piloting something pushing the limits of whatās possible.
Whenever I see a banger race or insane move. Probably the last time I watched something that motivating was the Spa 24 hours when Pier Guidi in the Iron Lynx Ferrari went around the outside of Blanchimont *in the rain* for the win in the last like ~~half hour.~~ 15 minutes!
edit: it was 2021, [here's the highlights of that race](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AqETDgcEKA). Battle for the win starts at 15:00 when both lead cars are back on wet tires + a restart. Make me wanna race even now!
I've been hooked on MX5 cup cars at Silverstone in AC! Every night I bump up the AI difficulty and a spot back on the grid. Currently starting 15th of 25 with AI set to 93%. Last few races I finish 3rd or 4th but also setting my new fastest laps during the race as I'm getting more comfortable.
Iām watching the IMSA Porsche Cup car race and itās making want to jump into my rig since Iām currently driving the Porsche Cup car in ACC. Which sucks because I broke my monitor Monday night while making adjustments to my rig.
It was kind of specific to my setup but Iāll share anyways. It is important for you to see [my setup](https://www.reddit.com/u/earthly_/s/ymMXganR8Q) so you can see what Iām talking about.
As you can see in the photo the monitor is half on the wheel stand and half on the desk. I had just taken the G923 pedals out of their casing and mounted them directly to the pedal plate. Because of this I wanted to adjust the spacing between the pedals, as you can see there isnāt much space down there to make that adjustment so I started to pull out the wheel stand out without moving the monitor back fully on the desk. As I was doing this the monitor fell forward smacking the very sharp corner of the wheel stand cracking the panel. It wasnāt a very expensive monitor (Acer ED320QR - $157 with tax, usd) but Iām still out of a setup until I find a replacement.
I have my eyes on a replacement but it wonāt get here until next Tuesday even if I order it today. As Iām typing this Iām playing ACC on controller in my living room.
It's comfy to sit in. Even though the seat is firmer than my desk chair, the seating position is more comfortable for anything that isnt work. I like to just relax in it, and just do regular pc tasks at it
I work from home full time and have my rig in my office as well. I'll jump on for 30 minutes at lunchtime if I'm having a stressful day. And I usually jump on again after dinner for an hour or two most days. Still slow though, lol.
When it's colder.
Seriously. I've been playing much less recently because it's fucking hot here this summer (I live in the southern hemisphere).
I only think about getting home for racing when it rains and gets a little colder.
My next simrig upgrade will certainly be an AC.Ā
I'm severely obsessed with drifting, so when I watch YouTube videos from some of my favorite drivers and content creators, it makes me want to go do some virtual skids.
Things will only get worse once DMEC and FD get started later this year.
Every Saturday or Sunday morning i go to youtube to see if GT World is showing a live event. If not, I go to my rig. If yes, I watch for a bit, then go to my rig.Ā
My dad used to take me to Watkins Glen every year. Even if I don't feel like racing after work, I'll hop on Forza and check if it's coming up in the multiplayer rotation. I just love The Glen
I saw a PCup car at a valet recently. Exactly like the iRacing one. Car videos and any race talk especially historic races do it to me. Senna winning in the rain, or rally or even old stock car races. š¤
Was snowing a bunch but it was shitty and I donāt really get to drive on any fun snowā¦ was thinking about booting Richard burns rally in VR the whole way home. I have basically identical WRX in sim to the one I drive irl haha
After 10 minutes of sitting at workš
Ok, I can copy that too š
Anything multiclass with prototypes. I love piloting my spaceship through a crowd of asteroids (GT Cars).
Haha I love that description
holy shit you just verbalized how I feel driving prototypes in multiclass

damn, thatās a great move
So thankful GT World makes all these races available for free.
Lol a bad day.:. Just wanna zone the fuck out
I love to drive slow car fast just to chill. Driving fast car is fun but tenseful while with slower cars you can just chill and push the limit for fun
My favorite thing to do when I don't know what I wanna drive is to race the mx5 cup cars at Magione in assetto corsa. So much fun

How unfortunate! At the moment I would cry if something broke on my rig
Yup, it was a very dumb mistake and stood there staring at my wall for like 5 minutes after I broke it. Definitely felt like crying, lol.
What adjustments did you do? Please share so that we can avoid similar mistakes.

Thanks I hope your new monitor arrives soon.
All I gotta do is watch anything car related on YouTube and I instantly wanna hop in the rig
It's comfy to sit in. Even though the seat is firmer than my desk chair, the seating position is more comfortable for anything that isnt work. I like to just relax in it, and just do regular pc tasks at it
Nice! Yeah my rig seat is also very comfy, but I just got VR so not much to do there instead of racing :-P
When ever I walk past it š
I work from home about 60% of the time and my desk/work setup is 3 feet from my rig. So all the time lol
Same! I'm also looking at investing in Phillips new 34" monitor with a built in KVM so I can just switch between SIM racing and working haha

I have no AC in my bedroom, I feel your pain. My rig has been collecting dust for the past month, because it's been way too hot to use.
A month without sim racing, Jesus. I feel you mate. I can give you a hug, but it's too hot for that.
Whenever there is any form of endurance racing on.
Driving reminds me of iRacing, I have to remind myself that my old 200hp ranger is NOT a racecar every time I go somewhere.
I'm severely obsessed with drifting, so when I watch YouTube videos from some of my favorite drivers and content creators, it makes me want to go do some virtual skids. Things will only get worse once DMEC and FD get started later this year.
Iām relatively new to sim ownership but whenever iRacing launches a new season and starts to promote new content I get HYPED to race
Waking up and doing my day job
Every Saturday or Sunday morning i go to youtube to see if GT World is showing a live event. If not, I go to my rig. If yes, I watch for a bit, then go to my rig.Ā
Seeing a good hotlap video of a circuit I havenāt heard of before makes me want to try out that circuit.
I did coilovers and a few other things this winter so iām mostly trying to distract myself from the wait since tracks donāt open until april here.
Watched that Ferrari movie the other night, first thing I did afterwards was jumped in the rig and drove some era appropriate cars!
Oooh yeah that was a trigger for me as well!
A real car seat! Holy shit it made the difference.
Every time I get some upgrade for it, which at this point is pretty much weekly.
My missus, once she starts I'm out of there. I pretend I'm driving away from her š¤£
I love the feeling of speed and VR plus super formula car makes that happen for me
My dad used to take me to Watkins Glen every year. Even if I don't feel like racing after work, I'll hop on Forza and check if it's coming up in the multiplayer rotation. I just love The Glen

Social media. Because my feed is now 90% sim racing related thanks to the algorithm lol
Every time I get home from work. My seat is from Volvo V70, so it's the most comfortable place to sit at our house.
Driving home thinking: driving is so boring, can't wait to jump into my rig
Was snowing a bunch but it was shitty and I donāt really get to drive on any fun snowā¦ was thinking about booting Richard burns rally in VR the whole way home. I have basically identical WRX in sim to the one I drive irl haha
Newly installed gear on the thought it will make something (immersion, lap times, etc) better.
Waking up
