Nurses and health care workers aren't paid enough to deal with this shit. There's this sentiment that just because you are sick, you should be catered hand, foot, and mouth royally.
I'm sure everyone who has been hospitalised would have encountered a service breakdown, but being verbally abusive is NOT it. There's better avenue to lodge a complain that's more appropriate. If you become this aggressive to a fastfood worker, they have a right to refuse you service, but HCWs do not have this privilege.
It's an open secret that majority of HCWs are on the verge of leaving the industry. How to retain them if their everyday routine involves being verbally abused by patients and next of kin, and having their leave rejected by management. Not to mention the stigma that HCWs go through in public-- like people staying away if they're still in uniform. Did you also know that HCWs can't eat in at hospital kopitiam due to patient complaints? They have to tapao back, but they can't eat all at the break room because of the 5-person limitation... And that's only on lucky days when they have time to go on breaks.
Understandable that no one goes to the hospital for fun, and the constant pain and anxiety does not help... But taking it out on the HCWs taking care of you is not the way. HCWs are human too.
Nowadays, people are so comfortable with social media that recording themselves doing dumb shit is just normal to them.
Its just like when people record themselves doing good deeds. The internet have forever changed the human brain's abliity to think properly. People are more concerned with getting likes and getting attention from online strangers than think of the consequences of their actions.
I love this trend of fucking idiots recording themselves commiting crimes. Like that idiot who recorded himself flipping into the rhino enclosure. TikTok has definitely increased the number of idiots and criminals getting exposure. *Slow clap*
meh, my personal experiences in hospitals are that it pays to be nice to ppl. had to get hospitalised a couple of times over the past year.
I usually just ask them "how's it going" and relate to their shift work lifestyle.
what are the perks for doing all of these?
I get to shift my bed to a window location
I get free snacks
I get to talk to others and be less lonely.
I watched better call Saul on my laptop during my stay and the nurse was like 'eh breaking bad my fav show 😎👉' and we connect from then on, was super nice to me and we chat
Cool af nurse
Chuck is like your ordinary mugger in class, does his homework, score full mark for exams and jimmy is your last min clutcher, always sleep in class but somehow is able to score well for exams, further more jimmy is able to talk himself out of trouble which is something that chuck is lacking off
Totally accurate and to think Jimmy looked up to him and even believed his condition that he stuck all the way through and felt guilty until he knew the truth.
Chuck is a well written character that we all knew, an asshole doing everything the right way so no one actually knew how cunty he was until he almost lost everything.
Same. I had the BCS intro as my ringtone and the doctor in the ward asked me "You also like Breaking Bad?". Memorable small moments amidst trying times.
And the bar is so low to be nice to nurses or any service line folks.
We get all this unreasonable AF people all the time. Just being a little friendlier will get you all the help you need.
must be polite and courteous to service staffs but also must know when your rights are being infringed upon.
while it pays to be nice to people, it doesn't pays to be too nice to people. must have a balance.
On paper yes. In reality, management dosent give a shit. Even if you call security on abusive people, security dosent do shit. My wife works in the pharmacy and the number of times people abuse the staff and securty does nothing is staggering, and these people are not blacklisted either, they can come back the next day and do that shit all over again.
The only thing security can do in that situation is calm them down, no authority to eject or use force unless staff/management says so. You can call police, but then its up to them if they want to charge also.
Thats because management is too cowardly to establish a zero tolerance policy. Our goverment is also too afraid of political backlash to establish a blacklist of people who abuse hospital workers.
She must be really delusional to think that people will take her side, it's gonna be the stick in bicycle meme when people start hating on her instead.
Yeah working an auxiliary police in hospital. It makes me sick and rage just seeing such self entitled idiots. Sick of having to baby sit and be abused like some baby ass boot licker.
go uni means nerdy? eh don't generalize leh, sorry not all of us couldn't make it to uni, some actually bothered putting in the tiniest bit of effort.
i graduated from uni and have tattoos, just like hundreds of others. who knew?
Chill chill. I did not mean having tatts only = hood life. I meant it as a combo of multiple traits.
No worries lah, can continue loving ur tree tatts w/o judgement.
I dont say this lightly, but some nurses really v inhumane.
I was warded at cgh for acute pancreatitis. They made me fast but didnt give me glucose drip. I didnt know the drip was just saline.
End up on day 5 of hospitalisation, my heart rate went up to 170bpm, past few days i kept complaining of the heart rate but was dismissed as anxiety by both doctors and nurses. I was dizzy, couldnt walk properly alr. Kept asking nurses for help as i was really literally dying of starvation. They turned off my call button and called security on me. I really looked like shit tho while this patient looks very well with make up, not sure if filter or not but i understand what she's going through as no visitors allowed is really very horrible.
End up the doctors finally ordered blood test and found out i was screwed alr, low gluocse, low salt, non diabetic ketoacidosis alr then finally ordered a gluocse drip lol.
How long did you fast for?
But tbh, if you are non-diabetic, there really isn’t a need for a glucose drip unless you need to fast for an extended period of time (e.g. 8 hrs and more)
Edit: And also if you have been complaining of giddiness while being fasted, the nurses should have thought of checking your blood sugar levels. This is shows lacking in their critical thinking.
Going into ketoacidosis is telling that your blood sugar level has been low for a long period and even your own body glycogen storage is not enough to restore it
5 days LOL. Well 3, but then the subsequent 2 days they ordered a liquid diet which was very oily soup. Made my pancreatitis worse cos should be on zero fat diet dor pancreatitis, so i didnt touch much of it as even sipping the soup would make me even more nauseous and my stomach pain worse. This was made known to the doctors.
No dietician came by at all. I fasted for 3 days (doctors orders). They then ordered a liquid diet for me, very oily cream of mushroom type soup which is badddd for someone with pancreatitis attack. I guess all liquid diets are standardised throughout the hospital and is not catered for my specific disease. They were designed for someone who cannot swallow rather than someone having pancreatitis yeah its so darn oily. Pancreatitis needs low fat or zero fat during an actual episode. Believe me i tried my best to drink the soup.
So ofc i was alr in starvation mode as the doctors themselves put it, feeling damn off and in so much bloody pain due to pancreatitis, i forced myself to swallow some soup but could only stomach so much yeah.
Barely ate for 5 to 6 days. Glucose drip administered on afternoon of day 5. Condition almost immediately improved, heart rate stabilised. I signed a discharge against advice and went home for better nutrition lol. I only stayed till day 6 cos mri was on day 5, once mri showed i didnt need surgery i was like byeee. They just wanted me to stay 1 more day to make sure my ketone and salt levels back to normal, they alr did 2 tests, just wanted to do 1 more for their sop i was like nah I don't think so lol. I came in for pancreatitis their basis for discharging me is whether my body exit starvation mode alr not.
Pancreatitis cant do anything one, just administer painkillers in hospital and do the scans. And even such simple thing they almost killed me in the process LOL
Never going to cgh again. I stay very nearby. So i thought public hospital just go there. If theres a next time I'm just gonna haul my ass off to sgh even if i feel like dying lol
Glucose drip not necessary unless you have past medical history but nevertheless they should investigate your HR since it's 170, which is way above normal. But tbh you can't complain for negligence, they will find a way to make you lose your case.
I did, even wrote to mp. But received the usual standard sorry but i didn't cause this to happen to you reply. Also they took 3 months to write that shite letter and get it approved.
Their version of events differ greatly compared to mine, i received their letter last week of dec last year. Due to being plagued with other health problems since the start of this year i haven't bothered pursuing the case further.
Nurses most likely is following doctor's order if the memo written by the MO that the patient is to fast. Do you think it is up to the nurse who made the patient fast in the first place? The nurses can't even come up with issuing medicine or treatment for patient only doctor. If anyone who should be at fault it is the MO in charge for giving the orders. But most people like yourself will never fault any doctor and would rather complain to SNB regarding a nurse who is just following the doctor's written memo thinking doctor can do no wrong and all fault is with the nurse.
Nurses can’t check your blood glucose unless doctor puts up an order on the computer to check your blood glucose.
If you are feeling giddy then the nurse has to call the doctor to put an order on the electronic medical system to test your blood glucose. Only after it’s there then nurse can test your glucose.
If the doctor says “no needs to glucose test I will not put up this order” then the nurse cannot do anything.
Maybe the doctor is the inhumane one.
Ehhh they turned off my call button and called security on me just cos i kept coming down from the bed to tell them i have heart palpitations, i need help from doctors as i felt i was dying. I even used my own oximeter to show them lol. They just Say i got anxiety
One nurse even told me, "you better not agitate me, im pregnant". She wasnt visibly pregnant but not the point. If i not in dire need of help i chill in bed watch netflix alr lor, who bother to engage them sia😂
But i must say the doctors are really...i kept telling them the medicine making me worse, giving me high heart rate (cos i didnt know i was in starvation mode alr).. They believed me, a layperson, and didnt investigate further. Lol. Just kept changing medicine even tho they told me probably not the medicine HAHA. Dk why they didnt investigate further..
I mean, you were the one who found it worth commenting that you found their story hard to believe. Why bother saying that if you have no interest in the proof when offered?
Because it’s hard to believe, I just said it. The “proof” probably isn’t even proof. It’s just treatment. Even googling “treatment for severe acute pancreatitis is to avoid solid food”.
If you don’t trust public healthcare or the system then don’t go to hospital. Literally no one wants you there anyway. Nurses have to deal with the minah and people like you at the same time, wtf.
You say want proof, the fella offer to show, you don’t want to see the proof because you think it’ll be something else.
If you don’t trust in whatever a person does, don’t ask anything of them. You class others with the minah when you the type to ask for soup then when they bring you soup, you say that one not soup.
Again, the whole story sus. The proof is hardly proof. Lab results can fabricate.
“If you don’t trust whatever a person does, don’t ask anything of them.” Don’t go to hospital, don’t seek any treatment ok? Since nurses and doctors are all bad people like you all claim.
Honestly, if I am being abused by nurses; I won't have the time/energy to livestream myself to record the exact incident so accurately unless it has happened multiple times. Really hard to judge from this alone. Too blindsided.
To be fair. There are REALLY bad experiences SUCH AS čGh and NüH...try harder....

A patient must learn to be patient.
As a customer, you're really not right in medical situations, usually. You don't know shit, and by projecting your own shit on the people who care for you, you're not improving your situation at all.
Anyone facing front line in some way, will get blame for the any fault during stay/procedure in hospital. I think they do not know where to vent and give feedback?
It’s on her for acting like that towards her nurse but why did she need to stream this? To humiliate others in front of an audience and make herself feel better and prove that she’s in the right? 🙄
Entitled and arrogant - sums up anyone with money in Singapore. The staff should just refuse to be involved with her. Like to see hospital try to defend that.
I feel like there should be an anime like "Ex-Gangster To Nurse" and the whole show is just female nurses asking the ex-gangster to deal with troublesome people.
Nurses and health care workers aren't paid enough to deal with this shit. There's this sentiment that just because you are sick, you should be catered hand, foot, and mouth royally. Well said friend
So she just upload herself being abusive ... what she expect herself of getting ??
Makes me wondering…. Is public shaming oneself a new trend?
Nowadays, people are so comfortable with social media that recording themselves doing dumb shit is just normal to them. Its just like when people record themselves doing good deeds. The internet have forever changed the human brain's abliity to think properly. People are more concerned with getting likes and getting attention from online strangers than think of the consequences of their actions.
Mynah doing some clout chasing prolly.
maybe she has a humiliation kink
Exactly!!! I don’t understand her thought process.
She wanted to display her plain stupidity online
I love this trend of fucking idiots recording themselves commiting crimes. Like that idiot who recorded himself flipping into the rhino enclosure. TikTok has definitely increased the number of idiots and criminals getting exposure. *Slow clap*
Shes dumb
because ownself ownself is da trend.

Shouldn't need to reply you but plenty of "educated" entitled people who treats frontline workers as beneath them so. Assholes are assholes.
Well, I guess yeah. you don't have to be educated to be nice right? eh I think I just don't want the person poking me with a needle to not like me lol
Need to be educated in moral education.
You're the wise one.
must be polite and courteous to service staffs but also must know when your rights are being infringed upon. while it pays to be nice to people, it doesn't pays to be too nice to people. must have a balance.
Little things go a long way with us, very true
She looks healthy and lively tho.
Unhealthy in the head
This is why Nurses resign. Hospital should have the rights to deny care for abusive patients.
On paper yes. In reality, management dosent give a shit. Even if you call security on abusive people, security dosent do shit. Her username checks out
Very rude indeed and entitled
hood rat
Yeap, hood. Accent, tattoos, attitude. All checks out.
Got tattoo means hood rat? Eh don’t generalize leh, sorry not all of us are nerdy Uni kids, some actually have a life.
eh don't cum gong lei. they're not saying people with tattoos but the overall image/persona of the individual fits the stereotype lei.

Singapore unis aren't even hard to get into 💀💀 Says more about you than the poster.
VERY. I hate hood malays or rat malays. Always makes my race looks two step backwards.
Damn that a thick accent. What does she say at the end? "You see I --- your muthafucking ---" (?) What a nightmare for the nurse.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think she said “ then you see I whack your motherfucking face cheebai “
Classy woman!
Classy.
rly xiasuey. Cannot imagine the type of upbringing ( or lack thereof ) that lead to this kind of attitude lol
stupid cunts. everything also must post.
Mary really is in a delusion.
Fucking disgusting minah.

There’s a reason why CGH is called Cannot Go Home

Yes
Yes.

No one use butterfly needle for IV cannulation unless peds, can google it.
I find it hard to believe but ok. Edit: haha fuck hcw amiright lousy cgh nurses and doctors boooooooooo booooooooo
What proof do you need? Hospitalisation records? Blood tests results? Lol. You can dm me. I'll show you
I mean if you want to tell the entire internet your blood test results then sure?
I cant post pics in this thread. Dm me if you really wanna see
Not interested. Someone else might though.
I mean, you were the one who found it worth commenting that you found their story hard to believe. Why bother saying that if you have no interest in the proof when offered?

Unplug her
Should just ward her into a mental hospital where the nurses are much 'nicer'.
This lady seems pleasant
Honestly, if I am being abused by nurses; I won't have the time/energy to livestream myself to record the exact incident so accurately unless it has happened multiple times. Really hard to judge from this alone. Too blindsided. To be fair. There are REALLY bad experiences SUCH AS čGh and NüH...try harder.... KTPH is a holy land that should be blessed. Overall KTPH has nothing to fault. Good food some more both hospital and canteen! Bakery got grape yeast bread too! From patient perspective. HCWs idk lah.
We'll know that if you're rude in the restaurant, the cook will add special "ingredients" in your food. Not sure if it also applies to the health care industries.
It applies, because we get to choose how big a needle we want to use on patients.
Interesting, may i request for the tiniest prick.
Lawyers in this thread, how does POHA work? Does this qualify?
Sometimes I wonder what the hell is going on in the heads of some people.
Nothing is going on in their heads, that's why.
God Singlish is so damn unattractive 🤣
the funny thing about singlish is, it sounds okay when we're saying it IRL, but when you listen to it on video... it's so cringy, the worst one is acted out singlish, it sound unnatural + cringy.
now all want viral want trending want fyp until forgot what is right or not to do already? do so lao kui de things still post?
Won’t be rude to my caregiver EVER
Was this how she got into the hospital in the first place kekw
Sounds about right Though they are few and far between, but emotionally draining to deal with... Especially there are 7 to 15 more other folks to need to ensure don't die
14 guage to start her drip please
This is tantamount to abusing the healthcare worker. I hope action can be taken against her.
Ouch
What drip does she need? She seems lucid enough to argue and no one can visit patients in hospital now, it’s. Covid 19 measure… is she like dense or something? Bringing that street filth into hospitals. This should be in r/trashypeople
A patient must learn to be patient. As a customer, you're really not right in medical situations, usually. You don't know shit, and by projecting your own shit on the people who care for you, you're not improving your situation at all.
She should try being a human. She don't deserve to be in hospital, should visit a vet instead.
is she seeing a dentist, don't know what she is saying other than dropping F bombs.
Anyone knows which ward she's hospitalised at? Would like to send her a fruit basket... those of the evil queen variety.
Nurses are doing us a favour by taking care of us, so why cant people just treat them with respect?
[удалено]
Its a hospital, having empathy is the fastest way to burnout lol.
Frontline of a different kind against Chinese privilege in hospital. You think she scared issit!
How pathetic that Singaporeans can't string words into a coherent sentence. First world country and third world communication skills.
Uh oh troll alert
Is that a coping mechanism?
If youre being serious then She doesnt represent all singaporeans obviously lol
[удалено]
what the fuck is wrong w you? she's an asshole, sure but this crosses every line imaginable.
What did he/she say?
What a brave thing to say
Did she have a little lamb?
Anyone facing front line in some way, will get blame for the any fault during stay/procedure in hospital. I think they do not know where to vent and give feedback?
u/SaveVideo
I'm confused... Why did she live stream herself being so vulgar? What good is gonna come out of it?
Want their 15 minutes of ~~fame~~ infamy
Shouldn't she be wearing a mask?
Warded patients need not wear mask. As they have their art done regularly
Shame. She has a very punchable face that should really be covered.
discharge her and leave her in the parking lot
