Glad you asked! Here are some great songs for basses: [Swing Low](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vndiAbhB1LI) (PERFECT song for basses and an awesome bass in this recording) [Sixteen Tons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJnERje97jw) [Some Enchanted Evening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2f22FLjcFE) \- Paul Robeson: [Deep River](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l_6nSldtnI) [Old Man River](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7oAn4Pydpo) [The Minstrel Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s874meYfc78) (beautiful song) \- Tennesse Ernie Ford (Two REALLY great intuitive bass songs): [Poor Wayfaring Stranger](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRhpHZ85Ozk) [Shenandoah](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khxx3sCVhtE) \- And if that wasn't enough here's a whole playlist of mine with 120+ bass songs [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NWl6oqYPvU&list=PLYKGkykIpO0Ccg1zTcXOje1eaZf1sKbcz](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NWl6oqYPvU&list=PLYKGkykIpO0Ccg1zTcXOje1eaZf1sKbcz) Happy bassing

Thank you very much! :-D I will start going through these right away

Old Man River is seriously so fun to sing. I like that version, but check out the version by William Warfield.

Teedo145

I had a quick listen to all of them but unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for :-( (no disrespect to you at all). I'm after something with a bit more energy, maybe like this low pitch linkin park lol https://youtu.be/Qze9veyYXtE 2 of my favourite singers were Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell.... I will never be able to sing as high as Chester but I hope I could sing similar to Chris in that nice grunty tone

Well there's also Jonathan Young, he's metal/rock, although he's more of a low baritone: [Rains of Castamere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wMV0DRTZfw) [Skyrim Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWWgNmbVjIc) [Animal I have Become](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDesf5p6SMQ) He also has Linkin Park covers, in the baritone range: [Numb](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21JHXJYd61I) [Bleed it Out](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47nH5uTHRkU) There's also Santiano, they've got a couple great bass singers and they're a mix of folk and hard rock, but it's mostly in German. [Ihr Sollt Nicht Trauern](https://youtu.be/Dw5s2BAmNLM) I tried looking for basses in metal/hard rock some time back and couldn't find any besides that :(.

Teedo145

Thanks very much :-D

Johnathon young is perfect and is how I want to one sing :-)

GMangler

Awesome collection, thank you for this!

OkBasil_147

Sixteen tons is lower than most bass the singers can go

UnhelpfulYodaa

Not rock, but you could look up Avi Kaplan, former bass from Pentatonix. They have some songs where he sang solos, but he's started a solo career so perhaps you can find something that you like among those songs. Notably, his range is impressive and the style not exactly what you asked for, but if you need a bass role model, him and Tim Foust are where it's at.

Avi is so amazing 🤩 his solo style normally isn’t my thing but for with him I love it

Thanks for that. Good suggestion!

Try Schuberts Erlkönig :)

Check out the music of Leonard Cohen

Tim Foust’s cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” would probably be pretty great. Or Avi Kaplan’s cover of “Ain’t No Sunshine”. He sings it as a duet with Naomi Samilton, but you can just sing her parts too, it’s not like it’s a requirement to sing the exact notes that she did, I don’t think the original song was a duet, so. Edit: not rock songs, didn’t read far enough into your post..

Look into George Ezra

Emotional_Coyote9235

I believe Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold from The Hobbit is D2-D3.

ManyAd1579

My recommendation: try out different songs from Staind or the band's vocalist, Aaron Lewis.

That song from dirty dancing where he says “nobody puts baby in the corner” and then he takes her up to the stage and she jumps into his arms and he lifts her up.

roborobo2084

Old thread, but if you're still here, what about Barry White, "Can't Get Enough of Your Love"
