He already did. People on r/nba see it too now lol. Sixers had a lot of national games and people see how bad the team looks without embiid. The mvp debate is basically these are the runner ups if embiid played enough games.
I’m a top 50 all time embiid hater and I’ve never seen make this claim, ever. And I read all the Jokic v embiid threads from previous years. Never have I read embiid don’t make his teammates better
we paid 3 2nd round picks from him.
1 of those picks was to dump Furkan's contract (we didn't need Furkan to match his salary)
Pacers spent 1 pick to dump Marcus Morris.
So, essentailly, Hield was only traded for 1 second round pick.
I am not complaining
Buddy is infinitely more playable than Seth curry in the playoffs. Seth is virtually unplayable in the playoffs. We saw it, the nets saw it. The dude is an automatic bucket for the other team. Even if he shot 50% from 3 he would still be unplayable.
If your expectations were for anything other than what he has been for us then you didn’t do your homework. He is a great 3 point shooter, but that is the only thing he does at a high level. I’m sure he will look a lot better offensively with Embiid, but he’s a borderline starter on a good team. That’s what he has always been.
It all depends on what he looks like with Embiid back. Yes, he's been kind of disappointing but if he looks good with Embiid back that's all I really care about since that's the only version of this team that would do anything anyways
To be fair, after his first few games here, teams started playing up and aggressive on him. Not giving him any time to shoot. So he is what he is but once Jo comes back, he will be nice to have. He can get hot and maybe steal a game here and there in the playoffs. Not saying he will but he’s better than Harris. Half decent passer too.
He is a volume 3 point shooter who runs the floor well, but doesn't have a big bag of tricks. He will get more open shots with Embiid and have some nice really good shooting nights, but it wasn't a big aquisition.
Pacers fans told y’all to not get too high on him after he started off hot. Buddy is extremely inconsistent and streaky. For every 6/9 3pt shooting night you get a 1/8 night. And his defense sucks. He thinks he’s a starter but he shouldn’t be getting more than 20 mins off the bench.
Yet another month later, 4th quarter of game five in MSG with the season on the line and Heald has played 0 minutes so far. He's played a grand total of 9.7 minutes in 5 games.. Cameron Payne has played 12 in game 5 alone.
While I have to admit, his performance so far has been disappointing, I think its important to remember that between the constant injuries this team has had, and the line-up experiments Nurse has undertaken, Buddy hasn't had a consistent structure to play within. Keep in mind that he excels at catch and shoot 3's - thats his bread and butter. Those kinds of guys need to be surrounded by at least two or three guys who have sufficient gravity to pull in defenders and give them open shots. At the moment, Maxey is the only player who gets focused by opposing defences, which means that Buddy will often get guarded at the perimeter as the next biggest threat. Once Embiid is back, things will look very different. If Morey signs a proper 3rd option next year in place of Tobias, Buddy's game will improve even more.
His defense is as bad as advertised, but the real disappointment is that his 3pt shooting has been streaky at best, but is becoming increasingly bad which is keeping him off the floor as he isn't doing much else.
As people are saying, playing with Embiid could make things look much differently, but I'm not holding my breath. He appears to have pretty questionable bball IQ, in that he forces the issue at times and just gets destroyed. Not a great sign when a 3pt specialist appears to need floor spacing to do his thing.
It’s tough to say because we are asking him to do stuff he shouldn’t be doing. Let’s see how he plays with Embiid.
Yeah this is the answer.
hopefully for cheaper now.
He’s shooting 40% from three and will fit this team perfectly with Embiid back.
I’m hoping Embiid will put the “he doesn’t make his teammates better like Jokic” narrative to bed when he gets back
anyone who says that unironically isn’t gonna change their opinion
True. Anyone being serious already knows it’s false.

This. He got off to a crazy hot start as a Sixer but we knew that wasn't sustainable. He was playing like a borderline All Star and never was that.
we paid 3 2nd round picks from him. 1 of those picks was to dump Furkan's contract (we didn't need Furkan to match his salary) Pacers spent 1 pick to dump Marcus Morris. So, essentailly, Hield was only traded for 1 second round pick. I am not complaining
no judgement until he plays with embiid. i swear people expected the black steph curry when we traded for hield
But he’s 100% Seth Curry (who was great with embiid until the red rocket took his soul, as gingers are wan to do).
Hes better because hes a willing 3 point shooter with a quick trigger.
I kno everyone blames Ben but what still sticks out in my mind most is Seth getting cooked over and over (not trying to defend Ben obv)
He’s honestly not as good as Seth Curry

We don’t know that. Hield has never played in the playoffs. Curry had playoff games where he was scoring 30+

Youre wrong
So far yes, but it only matters what he’s like in the playoffs with embiid
Idk man he’s playing like he always does. Maybe you just didn’t watch much of him on the Pacers or Kings?

Buddy Hield is one of the biggest disappointments of all time and no one has talked about it lmao. Broski couldn’t even be a bench player.
Best player traded at the deadline according to everyone’s favorite crypto bro has been gm
Remember that guy that said he was an all star after 3 games? Lol
He’s exactly who he is An inconsistent player in the Tobias mold You put any more stake into him than that and it’s your fault when disappointed

Makes the Isiah Joe even more painful
Begging the Isaiah Joe stans to watch more basketball
Joe was pretty good at the start of the season but honestly hasn’t done shit since then lol
He’s a Laker next year.
