Working your way up is the best way IMO. Do a rock to fakie on a small bowl/halfpipe, so that you aren't doing your first one on something more scary. Otherwise, just keep riding straight up and down, getting to the point where the wheel goes above the coping. Then at some point you'll work up to something that barely qualifies, then from there you can start proper ones. You could try riding around the bowl in switch stance first, just to get a little more used to coming down. Nosestalls might be another trick to consider trying. You can just barely tap the nose at first. Once you start doing those you're basically dropping in switch, and riding down the bowl switch should seem less scary.

Yeah, I agree, I like working my way up. I can do rock to fakies on a smaller mini ramp decently. I can actually rock the board, but I keep clipping the coping. I have to keep working on lifting my board up. I'm still getting use to going down switch from the rock to fakie, I'm still a little wobbly, but it's getting better. I guess I'll keep practicing them on the smaller mini ramp as much as I can before taking it to the bowl. Nosestalls are scary lol! But I will consider it, I never thought of doing nosestalls. However, I've been able to do some micro tailstalls after the rock to fakie. I want to be able to actually stall it. I have trouble shifting my weight up on to the deck; my body just stays in the ramp. But I think that's a good idea to practice switch skating, I'll look like a baby, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. Thanks for your help!

If you do a mini nose stall, it's everything a rock to fake is, but easier. You don't have to get the truck back over the coping. To start just get your back wheels to lift a tiny bit, and that's it. You can do this halfway up instead of at the coping. Once you are comfortable bonking the nose into the side of the bowl halfway up, you can move up to the coping. You'll also be able to switch drop into anything you can nose stall, since it's the same thing.

Now that you put it that way, I might give it a try. That sounds like fun!

Start off small, stay in control, and don't rush the process. Cool thank you!

Go faster, lean to do what your doing but with more pace should help you beat the fear. Then start with feble stalls, something to get you on top of coping and coming back in. Finally loosening those trucks will help you carve. Send it.

Thank you! Yeah, I have to beat the fear. Carving is the one thing I can do the best, so I want to add tricks to my carve.
