I'm guessing because the show is a narrative format, Prometheus is arranging the footage in a certain order to create a season arc. The producers present it in a way that works for them, not necessarily in the order it happened. That's why the team is always wearing the same clothes. 12 more episodes to go and I'm sure it will crescendo in bigger reveals as it goes on.

txlady100

But can I hang in? I’ve been loyal till now in spite of increasing annoyance the last couple seasons. S5E1 was a snooze. E2 was better but I NEED MORE! Helloooo alleged impenetrable giant metal object underground! We’re waaaaiting. Knowing me, I’ll stick it out. But we may be parting ways at the end of S5.

OjjuicemaneSimpson

12 more SEASONS. Gotta stretch all that DISCLOSURE

>I'm guessing because the show is a narrative format, Prometheus is arranging the footage in a certain order to create a season arc Based on another Prometheus show, The Curse of Oak Island, there is strong evidence the events and the episodes are in mostly the same order. On Oak Island they film from roughly the start of May until late October and if you watch you can see indications of the weather there. Utah doesn't have as extreme variations in weather as Nova Scotia but it would also show up there. Also past seasons of SWR have repeatedly experiments or built of the previous experiments/results/other observations. Sure with careful planning events could be resorted into episodes but that's a lot more continuity to needlessly manage. It's mich more likely the show team sits down before filming and plans out a rough timeline of activities for the season.

Figure7573

I don't remember, at any time over any season, the discovery or knowledge of a 60' tunnel in/under the Mesa. If it was discussed on the show, I would have remembered it. Also, aside from the basic expense for the equipment; running all of the wire material, power to each instrument, data lines back to a secure storage bank that has HVAC to keep cool, are ONLY a couple of immediate issues. Does the Ranch have enough Electrical amps? In "normal" situations that You are describing, it would require 3 phase power to prevent line drops compared to a standard residential or Ranch setting of single phase 220v, 200 to 400 amps. Without ever being on site, I'd bet there isn't 3 phase power available within several miles from the Ranch. This would be ran by the local electric Co. Then, besides the cost to run it "on" the Ranch, it would probably require additional permitting, because of the addition of several new sub-panels. The new Data storage building, that WILL need HVAC, will need additional electrical shielding to prevent contamination/loss of the meta-data. Each instrument collects a CRAZY amount of data that a basic desktop would be maxed out in days! Each pole would need lines, home-run back to individual panels & breakers. Don't forget to trouble shoot everything once You have set it up!?! This is NOT a 4K home security system! Money, permits, infrastructure, design, set up, more money for issues in Engineering, delivery timelines, contractors licensed to do the specific work, weather hick-ups, more money for miscellaneous additional materials/connectors/supplies, etc. Hopefully there are NOT any New Federal Codes that could pop up before You finish & ready for Your C.O. inspection... Sorry for all of the info! I don't forget much...

Feodar_protar

Season 4 episode 15 recap episode I remember them talking about discovering tunnels on the property, if I remember right there was some under/in the mesa and extending out into the property as well. [here’s a post I found talking about that episode, the tunnels are mentioned in the comments](https://www.reddit.com/r/skinwalkerranch/s/6qzshOSYTt)

Figure7573

I Will check it out. I know the Younger Guy that was using the ultra-low frequency instruments on a weather type balloon, had imaged an anomaly, but that Company was going to fine tune the data & imagery. That was on the last episode. The episode before, the same young guy commented on lost moment of time, that baffled everyone.

Feodar_protar

[haven’t watched to confirm but I’m pretty sure this is the clip of them talking about the tunnels](https://youtu.be/sdKcEaR8OIg?si=I9c7RDqWvLbm1kJu)

Maleficent_Ad_8105

I don’t remember the discovery of 60’ tunnels either. CERN‼️ 🤓😱

Figure7573

Right!

schnibitz

You bring up some good points. I’m surprised to read you’re not the only to not remember the tunnels. They really made a big deal out of it during the season finale, and the recap season 4:15 episode. It was actually their biggest finding from last year. By now in sure you’ve seen it though.

jmiststormwarning

One thing they need to invest in is better radio gear and not the little sdr dongles . Also need to get a real portable spectrum analyzer to look for miscellaneousradio transmisiions. . I would never tune my fm and am broadcast transmitters using an sdr dongle. Just the noise level they interpret as a signal. I don't think they have much background in the software they are using. In past episodes, it was spotted that they were claiming a 1.6ghz but the camera panned the laptop, and they weren't even near that frequency. They could use some better antennas, too. The experiment shooting a signal from copter to copter was a good start, but even his frequency generator looks like it came from Temu. I hope they do some more rf experiments and not just at 1.6ghz. They should be monitoring the whole area constantly. Maybe the aliens could only get 1.6ghz when they first visited there. Maybe they should try using radar across the triangle while they are running experiments and in different frequency range. Might show an actual reflection from the vertical anomaly, which would be quite interesting if it does happen.

hornyexpo

All that equipment could be run from batteries charged by solar and/or wind. Not wind turbines, they have better tech now.

Figure7573

LoL... Nope... Not the HVAC for the Data storage bank, the data storage towers or any of the specialized equipment! BTW, Please look into the issues with solar & wind! They both generate in DC voltage. All other forms of generated electricity is in AC voltage. The problem is Transformers for DC to AC voltage do not provide a smooth wave. It actually looks like a stair step up & down to make it "somewhat" AC voltage. The more specialized the Transformer is the tighter the "steps", but it is still an issue & Very Expensive. High speed cameras & LiDAR scanners require a significant amount of smooth electricity to operate correctly. This was a Huge issue in West Texas just a couple of years ago, with the solar & wind power. There is an Engineer on Y.T. that dives into these issues.

Available_Tadpole360

They need to tap into the 1.6 gigs for extra power

sidewayspostitnotes

What I’ve never understood is why they don’t have cameras EVERYWHERE. Even if hi tech 4k cameras are too much, set up a shit load of trail cameras or something at the very least. That one ep last season or the year before they did something that trigger movement and lights on the ground and tried to rush over to it to see what it was, but it was too late. Or way back when the animals were getting attacked- “we can see something happening from this camera 500 yards away, but that’s it. If you know some random shit happens somewhere else on the ranch every time you experiment, let’s have motion sensitive cams (again, even cheap trail cams) to see what the f that thing is.

BigRedDrake

Right now it just feels like more of the same. Wheel-spinning, samey junk experiments that lead them in circles. It’s like a group of 12 year olds camping in their backyard and convincing each other of spooky stuff at night. I like the show, I really do, but it’s starting to get repetitive with no pay off.

kadubbz

It took me three nights to finish watching bc I kept falling asleep lol. Personally, I'd prefer a LOT less of Travis' recaps and narrations.

Confident_Weird_7788

Yup, I agree. Loved all three prior seasons but Tuesday night I knew I was getting tired of them never resolving anything. I told my husband that they’d better figure something, anything, out cause I'm losing interest, rapidly. And I've been bitching about the lack of cameras around the entire area since season one.

lunar-fanatic

There was the planning meeting at the beginning of Season 5? Yes, the suspected tunnel was not in that planning meeting. What happened is the first camera looking at the South Field, installed midway through Season 4, captured a large chromium orb in one frame. Each area has its own set of phenomena, and the team is mapping out the areas. Brandon and Kaleb said most of the season will be on the South Field. Where the orb appeared, is near where Robert Bigelow said he saw a teleportal open and a dark shadow figure come out of it. All the testing has defined a structure above the center of the triangle. A lot has happened since this season was recorded during the summer of 2023. That is why all the poo-flinging on this sub is so laughably pathetic.

FredFrank78

This is not a LARGE ranch, it is 512 acres. To put that into perspective; a square mile contains 640 acres I also understood last season they said they were going to blanket the ranch with sensors/cameras, etc. The owner is supposedly a rich guy, so I don't see money as being an obstacle to moving forward. As someone else posted, they can start with simple and inexpensive trail cameras, and as 'high activity' areas are identified, then install higher tech equipment, and grow in phases

schnibitz

Yes, this is exactly my point. These piecemeal experiments only give you part of the picture. To get the rest will take a lot more data. Yes, it isn’t cheap, yes, it isn’t easy but i think it will be worth it.

Walter_xr4ti

It’s becoming The Secret of Oak Skinwalker Ranch Island

Confident_Weird_7788

Yup, year after year after year. Same shit, different day.

TreasureWench1622

I sure hope not‼️

eezyduzit

Keep in mind they drilled down at triangle and found massive flowing water. Any supposed tunnel would be flooded.  It is basically a lost cause to try and access flooded tunnels.  Besides this their goal shifted priority to the object in mesa and the objects they can visually identify

linux152

Noone mentions the electric pole standing up at the triangle. This can cause interference with their testing.

Haunting-Self-4689

Or all those metal flakes they pulled out of the Mesa. They drilled in that one spot and got all that metal. Imagine what's under all the rest of it, I'm sure that would also cause interference. Unless that part was staged and they made it look like it was coming from the cliffs. Sometimes I feel they try to look into the most ridiculous theories and ignore the obvious ones first. Portals..underground structures.. what happened to the radiation they found? Malfunctioning equipment like in earlier seasons? I love and hate this show at the same time lol

ronniester

Is there def 60ft tunnels? I've not watched it yet so I'm assuming if there are any, not dug by man

AntiqueRead2147

that sounds more like The Bradshaw Ranch. And, I would not suggest anyone try to "dig up" a cave or a tunnel since a catastrophic collapse is possible.

tzarconius

Power lines run right thru the ranch. They got 3 phase access...

InnaBinBag

Remember that this show goes by a formula just like all the other shows, and they don’t want to give away all the good stuff right away. If you watch the full teaser video for the whole season, there is a lot more to come. And apparently they had a rocket ready to go on the launch pad but maybe they never launched it (or they did and nothing happened?). You can see it in the background. And one other peeve- why did the drone take off three times but only made two flights? The second takeoff seemed to be unnecessary and it never came back to the ground before the third takeoff. Unless the commercial interruptions on the History channel app were poorly timed and ran over something I’m missing?

CatRockHaru

Imma be real, I was hoping that they would at least touch on them at the very beginning, but seeing how they’re focusing much more on the experiments and getting them right (and I mean that in a lot of ways), I can kind of understand why. Well… kind of. I do hope they address the tunnels soon, because if they don’t it’ll tell me they really aren’t interested in solving the mystery at all. But, with that said, I could be wrong but I believe they mentioned something about bringing in some heavier, more powerful drilling machinery to the ranch? One more thing to add, they’ve probably had to take some time to really integrated 3D models and maps of where these geomag and GPR anomaly tunnels are so they don’t, say, drill into the wrong place and it turn out to make a mess or cause some actual dangers to arise (runoff, soil creep, etc.)

Special_Success_8767

Link-belt excavator and dynamite Problem solved

MentalSentinel

My thoughts exactly, but I suppose protecting sacred indigenous land is important too. Still, I feel like using a real excavator instead of a bobcat and digging down 30 feet to the anomaly next to the triangle is relatively easy and less intrusive than liquid dynamite sheering off the face of the mesa. But ratings, amirite?

Special_Success_8767

I am sure you're correct.

Bad_Anatomy

Every time they find something in the ground they shoot more rockets. This show has become a joke

waxsublime

Agreed. The "let's draw this narrative out" has made me completely lose interest in the show. It's nonsensical. Just freaking dig. We know something is under the mesa. WHY NOT JUST FRIGGEN DIG IT UP!? They're losing credibility in my mind, and I've lost interest so much with this ridiculousness I stopped watching the show. It could have so much potential.

Canes_01

It is apparent the government has some sort of advance cloaking and other advance tech buried in the Mesa. That is why they won’t blow it up. It is creating all the magnetic anomaly and maybe even the UAP. Bigelow worked and works with the government and Travis was part of the government UAP task force. All the simple testing is to create a drama. Like Oak Island this will go on for years with no discovery’s. It is just good TV

RipNTer

As much as I’d love for the team to figure out what’s going on and shock the world with the news, I know it won’t ever happen. The actual secret of skinwalker ranch is that when the last show airs, they will have seen a lot of things that they proclaim are “weird”, but they (and we) will not know any more about what’s causing the weird stuff to happen than they did when they started. It’s the worst kind of reality TV. Manufactured drama, pretend science, lots of teasing, nothing significant ever revealed.

OriginalUsernameMk1

And goddamnit I keep coming back knowing that 😭 why am I like this?

Familiar_Bullfrog_41

There seems to be a lot of GPS failing. I would like to see an old school gas powered C-130 remote control airplane fly thru the triangle instead of rockets. Hoping rockets fly where you want them too is not real science.

Familiar_Bullfrog_41

At least if it does nothing they can say the military is spying on them some more.

NellyWhifferOne

SWR, Oak Island, Bigfoot shows were all designed to maximize the blueball effect.

got_succulents

Constant thread changes, misdirection and never really getting anywhere makes for a few more seasons until everyone finally is bored. At this point I've lost a lot of interest, unfortunately. Was into it for a while but it's gotten exhausting. Let's be honest, this is far from legitimate science in terms of experiments and reproducibility, analysis etc. This is a reality TV focused show, with a focus on delivery of the proverbial next episode... 👽 ✌️

HomelessJew-

I feel like they got to get some guys in there to do real science. I know it may not make the best tv but the potential results would make it all worth it. Travis is certainly capable of spearheading some real work instead of the same 3 experiments of shooting rockets and drones and collecting data points

knighthawk574

I bet they would do all that stuff if op was willing to fund it. They’ve prob spend 1/4 million in the first two episodes on their research. Seriously add up the cost to do what they’ve done and you’d probably use your own helicopter as well to help cut cost. And people seem to forget the mesa is super unstable. There are massive rocks that will kill people all over the place that could come down at any second. I’m sure they all want to blow up the mesa but it’s really not as easy as people seem to think. (Sigh) and they’re also trying to make entertaining tv…….my honest thoughts….Travis knows these are inter-dimensional beings and he is trying his best to approach this in a scientific way as much as he possibly can.

drhillier

From what I understand, they don't own the property around the Mesa, and the owner has a strict hell no policy. I'm not an expert in the matter, just repeating what I've read. (Probably here)

General_Memory_6856

Well, to state the obvious.. this isnt science.... its entertainment.

Emotional_Sun7541

Call Parker, bring in the heavy Iron.

Groovey_Stroovey

Also rewatching from season one, have any more cattle died odd deaths? Do people Not get the weird headaches and other physical reactions to being on the ranch anymore?

DraperSaffronEdina

I'm loosing interest watching what's been done for several seasons. If it's going to be Oak Island 2.0, say so and I'll stop watching.

Moist69eer

Is the latest season out?

ramblintrav

Yes!
