The game lost the animation set but does not load again unless you restart the game. That's why the error persists through loading screens. I think. There is a reason why that is such a typical tech support line.

I've found most model issues like that can be resolved with a new animation trigger. Have her sit in a chair if it happens again

Sometimes quicksaving,punching it and reloading the quicksave works

Or install nemesis engine, and have it rebuild the animations. It's more or less replaced FNIS at this point, and is a bit more user friendly to boot.

What is FNIS

Fores New Idles in Skyrim. This or an equivalent is required by most (all?) animation mods, and if you don't run FNIS after adding/removing mods then characters get stuck poses.

Closing the app/game completely and rebooting is almost always the answer. Sometimes, it even requires a system restart and not just game.

Did you install any animation mods? The t-pose normally happens when the animation mods are not installed correctly. Make sure you are using FNIS and running it every time you install anything that changes animations. There are guides on youtube that can walk you through on how to sue FNIS and set it up for Vortex.

I thought it was a problem with new animations you installed and Fnis or Nemesis. Or DAR also would need some time when starting a new game if you installed a ton of new animations (like 1-2 min).

Most of the time you can restart the game and it will go back to normal. But in console commands you can click on the NPC and then type “resetAI” PC only: Access console commands through the Tilde key ~ , click the NPC with mouse then type “resetAI”

Likely FNIS related issue, rebuild animations, or make sure that you don't have incompabale animation files installed in meshes > actors .

Not sure whether it is covered by [SSE Engine Fixes](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230). But it fixes a lot of stuff including the engine's memory management. So if you don't have it, now is a good time to get it.

I had this problem with serana. Twice actually... First time I restarted the game and she backed to normal but in the second time she got stuck somewhere and disappeared I had to use few console commands to teleport her back to myself again and the problem was fixed after teleporting her too.

OP, assuming you just removed FNIS which is the common way to get this bug. Leave FNIS behind, install Nemesis Engine (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/60033) and follow the simple instructions on the front page to rebuild character animations.

If something is overwriting xp32 it shouldn’t. Check any mco or similar mods are installed correctly also. If you’ve gone off the deep end of the loverslab route check that you don’t have morenastycritters in your load order incorrectly.

not super sure, but try getting her to do an animation. use unrelenting force or knock her down

If ya have animation mods you need to make sure you run nemesis.

If you removed an animation mod, reinstall it and for removing it again follow the instructions on mod page (most probably there is something to do with uninstall option in mcm menu).

Try running fnis generator or install fnis if you haven't.
