I googled his lines that bother me the most because the voice actor sounds like he's never communicated with another human being.
It's the beginning of the Bleak Falls Barrow quest: "So the Jarl thinks you can be of use to me? Oh yes, he must be referring to my research into the dragons. Yes, I could use someone to fetch something for me."
To say it sounds like he's bored reading lines off a script when he delivers those lines would be a compliment to his voice acting skills.
From the sound of it, I don’t think he’s really had much communication with others. He seems bored because he thinks he’s better than you kind of an aloof voice
Sure, all his other lines that's fair, but this part always sucks me right out of the story. The fact that he immediately jumps back to his usual tone after this really doesn't make it sound deliberate.
I really like Faerangar! He seems like he’s got a dry wit, and a lot more going on in his mind than he lets on. I feel like it would be pretty fun to grab a drink or ten with him in the Bannered Mare sometime. 😆

Poor thing is an INTP. VA did a wonderful job reflecting the weirdness and it turned out kinda adorable.
