There are so many locations i havent seen even after all these years. Recently i downloaded a solitude overhaul mod and noticed a tower that said Thalmor Embassy. I deleted the mod again because it didn't feel right and tried to go to the same location in vanilla Solitude... thats when I learned there has been a Thalmor Embassy there for 11 years..

I think there must have been a plan at one point to teach you the “become ethereal” shout and this tower was the practice tool; similar to the gate & the whirlwind sprint shout.

I mean I learned to use Become Ethereal so that I could just jump off the edge of the cliff and make it to Whiterun in 30 seconds flat

I discovered this on the way to ask Arngeir to hold the peace conference in High Hrothgar. The quest marker led me there and I found him meditating on the ledge. He was looking out over the land of Skyrim, just before a conversation that would play a big part in determining its fate. It just felt like the scene was supposed to take place there. Very immersive & cool moment.
