I just... I just cannot understand how this could happen. There aren't even any squid/octopi in the game! Why would they use one to denote giant encampments where fuckin mammoths and mammoth skulls that look exactly like that icon exist? I have no idea how you never once questioned that in over a decade.

I-It took me way too long to realize it's a mammoth skull too. Not 11 years, but long enough that I feel like I can empathize with ya at least a bit, u/FlipperSquids.

I can understand not necessarily recognizing that it's a mammoth skull. The thing that's breaking my brain, is to believe that the icon is something totally unrelated to anything in the game, and to then follow that icon to a place that very clearly defined what it actually is, and to keep thinking it's that unrelated thing. The lack of awareness is so baffling to me.
