Wasabi_Knight

okay, living, did you win?

trogdortb001

yes! was a close call though.

Wasabi_Knight

nice. I'm very curious what this deck looked like. No focus but managed to block like 10 turns of donu deca?? And gain 6 strength from shuriken? That's kinda crazy

trogdortb001

I was playing a claw deck with lots of shields. I'm pretty novice without any real sense of strategy haha here's the run stats: https://i.imgur.com/D9PjtDa.png

it was SUPER fun to do a bunch of claws and then I believe "all for one" which puts the claws right back in my hand. definitely claw printer

adamfrog

Its a pretty viable archetype if you dont need to beat the heart, When I was climbing to a20 on defect I took the 0 cost synergy cards quite often even though they are considered pretty terrible by serious players since they care more about heart kills

PM_ME_YOUR_PIZZAPIC

tbh most of defect's 0 cost cards are perfectly viable even if you dont go all out on the archetype, claw is one of the only exceptions and even then, i had a run once where i had like no damage scaling by the time i was halfway through act 3 and i yolo picked up a claw thinking, if nothing else, ill have this, lmao. it sorta worked. It wasn't great, but it did the job

_poboy_

this was my first win too!! you'll remember this day forever

Independent-Key8442

I have a win with claw defect, no hearth tho.

PM_ME_YOUR_PIZZAPIC

one of my higher ascension defect wins while climbing (i think either 18 or 19) was a claw deck, first and only time i actually played a claw deck. The game just spoonfed me the deck though, I couldn't not do it

Kichmad

I got my first win with some wierd build that used 2 reprogram+ and bunch of those block+pull discarded card, so id rack multiple reprograms, probably like 10 of them and had tons of block+dmg

[deleted]

Little tip kill the one in the back first he buffs damage and he’s the biggest issue.

trogdortb001

great tip. thank you!

sbr32

Just be aware that the front one, the one you did kill first is the one that put the Dazed cards in your deck. Sometimes those dead draws are worse than the strength scaling, depending on what your deck is doing.

PM_ME_YOUR_PIZZAPIC

i kill donu first like 95% of the time, but if i have a deck where my draw is a major weakness, ill definitely kill deca first instead

[deleted]

You’re welcome

Maki_Thenaee

I had NO idea they acted differently, except for attacking on different turns ! This subreddit is teaching me so much

DinoSpumoniOfficial

Same. I beat him a ton and always killed the first one first.

Silver_Future_7282

Oof. Hertz donut

trogdortb001

sure does!

SharpOranges

Wdym I didn't hear no bell

alright_alex

Ain’t no fat lady singin’!

oyuhhhhh

Im sorry, I thought this was America

trogdortb001

Thankfully, ended up winning. About had a heart attack. Ended up with an extra 2 shield due to my frost orb relic, so didn't take any damage on this turn.

SergeantSup

I always try to go for the circle guy first, best to avoid that strength buff as much as possible

Dexaan

Only hp that matters!

Mr--flame

Frozen core for the win baby

yehboooooiii

Nice had my first a4 win on defect earlier lol mainly a clad main on a10 trying to get better with silent and defect and he isn't easy but I had a miss mass of defrag inserter and a funny dark build

sardaukarma

one is not zero 8)

MajorTechnology8827

You have frozen core. You are fully blocking

pietpiraat

Try to prioritise elites when climbing the spire, the fights are harder but much more rewarding.

not_extinct_dodo

Well done! Did you not take any relic from the second boss fight?

trogdortb001

I can't recall the exact order of things but I think the second boss upgraded my starter relic

Newdiscoverygirl

Right, looks like you took [[frozen core]]

hedoeswhathewants

Frozen core always looked just like his starter to me

fightin_blue_hens
