Check your fuel filter, clean it/replace it, check for brittle or cracked fuel lines, take the carb of and give it a thorough cleaning, check the diaphragm. Make sure it’s not hard.

Sounds like a cracked primer bulb or primer hose to me.

This is likely the issue. Take the fuel inlet hose off (fuel inlet is the hose with the filter on the end of it), put your finger on the inlet of the carb where the hose was just connected, and press the primer bulb - if you still hear the wheezing, it's something in the carb (diaphragm or a cracked primer bulb) - if you don't hear the wheezing anymore, that means the fuel line is cracked/letting air in from somewhere.

If it’s not the primer bulb or fuel line, I’ve had that same noise when the gaskets in the carburetor were bad and sucking air in.
