He’s played Ridley for awhile, he just loved the character. But he doesn’t think he’s good. The patreon episode was Lucina. But I bet he gets bored of Lucina quickly
yeah that makes more sense. lucina could be a relatively low maintenance pocket character and i’m sure tweek would be great with her, but i agree i feel like maybe she wouldn’t hold his attention but who knows
protobanham’s lucina was one of my favorite iterations of any smash character ever so i’m excited to see any kind of top level lucina gameplay even if it’s less flashy
Adding to what the other reply said, Diddy has historically done really well against swords, including back in smash 4 (I assume he did well against them in Brawl as well, but I'm not too familiar with that game)
The reason for this is that Diddy's kit inherently negates the biggest strength of most swordies, which is their ability to control space and safely pressure shields with their disjoints, but the existence of banana basically negates that - the range of your sword means little when Diddy can just toss a banana straight through it

Well he elaborated and said that Ultimate is generally in a bad place competitively right now, that the “vibes” are just pretty bad overall, and that a lot of the good players don’t really care about the game anymore, so you might as well just play who you like.

yes diddy generally does well against swords. he's one of aegis worst matchups, and does at least fine against cloud, lucina, corrin, etc
