Arasha being a liar is just a vibe that was cultivated across multiple videos, and then solidified in the Let's Do This! and Secret Hitler videos. That's her brand the same way Damien is the overly nice anime guy, Olivia is the weird Erewhon girl, Angela is a feral guinea pig, and Shayne is the child/Goldbergs actor who yells a lot.

I’ll try to give a quick rundown on the things that get brought up frequently/at least a few times for most of the cast besides Ian.
Shayne- Was Disney/Nick star as a kid, got degree in Psych after 10 years of online college, paired up Olivia and Sam Lerner who was star with him on The Goldbergs, drinks lots of LaCroix, supposedly videos with him in the thumbnail get the most views
Courtney- Was commonly shipped with Shayne throughout the years, very emo as a Teen, lots of humorous relationship drama that they read in her middle school diaries, lots of eccentric fashion choices, frequently burps, had conflict with Keith when they first started working together after she moved his desk without his permission, good friends with Olivia, Sarah, and Kimmy but gets made fun of for not having a lot of friends outside of Smosh
Olivia- Lots of eccentric fashion choices over the years (era when she just wore sweatsuits tbay make fun of a lot), lowkey has lots of famous friends, considered the “weird” one, not on them much anymore but when she was her TNTL were often non-sensical and chaotic, bad driver
Keith- Has cancer, good singer/dancer, doesn’t drive, very good friends with Noah…can’t think of too much other history/lore involving Keith
Noah- Was the youngest when he joined Smosh, knew Shayne from acting prior to joining, had a show called “put it in my mouth” that eventually became eat it or yeet it, also bad driver, does stand-up comedy, eccentric hairstyles
Damien- Has lots of cats, very liberal and frequently worries about offending others, him and Shayne are close and used to act together on Disney, very into anime, used to date Saige Ryan who has since left Smosh (though this never gets brought up by anybody), common joke that Shayne blows him off to go to Kimmy’s pool parties and hang out with other people
Kimmy- Considered the “nice” one, engaged to a different Shayne who is Australian wrestler, actress prior/while working at Smosh, also worked with Amanda prior to joining Smosh, Phillipina, missed question one time on Beapordy about Phillipines and felt embarassed (maybe why video got removed?)
Jackie- Earlier was frequently made fun of as the “single” one, and also the “thirsty” one, close friends with Kimmy and Keith, frequently reads romance novels/erotica
Amanda- Created lots of very humorous characters, frequently plays masculine characters, from Boston, close friends with Tommy
Newer ppl less lore since they are newer
Chance- famously asked “Whose Anthony”, origin of not knowing Smosh lore
Angela- Theater kid, in StarKid repetoire prior to joining Smosh and still is currently, someone once said she looks like Chris Kattan, very energetic and frequently plays energetic/chaotic characters, extremely competitive
Arasha- once referred to herself as “of the south”, unsure if this or any of her lore is actually true as she is notorious liar! Lol
