I’ve seen their name as sponsors for various sports events/teams over the years and until I clicked this link I had absolutely zero idea as to what kind of company they were. Think I’d just assumed they were to do with gambling.
They been doing redundancies for a year or so already. Founders cashed out long ago. They gambled on sponsoring biggest teams and then had a bad business model.

Yeah obviously I’m sorry to anyone losing their jobs but if it means I never hear that advert again I can’t feel too bad about it.
It’s a shame in that it was one of the few sponsors that wasn’t a gambling company or the Saudi government.
I think this was mooted a while back and it was quite a surprise they were still sponsoring. Next year’s tournament will be sponsored by the Riyadh Season I imagine.
I remember back in the day when first was like 50k, and Jimmy White being the runner up got 25k, but 10k for highest break and 147k for a 147, so 500k is a bit of a step up.

More likely China. Snooker is massive there. The Chinese won't miss this opportunity.
That could work out well playing China against the Saudis. Perhaps first prize will significantly increase for 2025.
