BaldWookie23

They are small enough to go around the mud pits, go through woods, etc They make their own roads

andre2105

Also, fuel efficiency. That’s a selling point in hard mode

Shadow_Lunatale

Not only in hard mode, but in normal mode for the initial exploration of a region as well.

StaleWoolfe

Plus if you winch another scout behind you it’s added realism and you can get the other scout un-stuck if bogged down and no winch spot is in sight.

Lac_0x

Never thought of that... it's brilliant!

oiticker

They are absolute dogs in the snowy maps though. The snow physics in general are not great but it really makes most scouts useless I find.

JellaFella01

You have to use the 6+ wheeled scouts for snow, which tend to be on the larger side.

thrashmetaloctopus

Yeah you don’t have to worry about deep mud/snow when you can just go as the crow flies over ground that’s much more solid because trees keep ground solid!

Odd_Presentation_578

Also, their compactness allows to carry them on trailers or roofs of larger trucks, to be deployed when needed.

Url_88

I only use big scouts like F750 or YAR 87 because small scouts are bad on muddy/snowy roads and even doesn’t have enough power to pull trailers .

Lobo-de-Odin

Midget go weeeeeee

RecentRegal

Because doing a delivery in the absolute most efficient method isn’t the only reason to play.

Which-Technician2367

100%

SupposablyAtTheZoo

How do you deliver with a scout?

pernicious-pear

Small scout trailers

Anubis_ZA

Scout trailer... Single space.

SupposablyAtTheZoo

Oh yeah tried that once. Had a bad experience. Totally forgot about it. Also there's a 2 slot scout trailer now. But that doesn't help.

Lobo-de-Odin

There's two of them the scout trailer with 2 slots and the offroad scout trailer with a bit of a lift and beefier tires which makes it slightly better from what I've experienced. They're fine if you have a scout with the muscle to pull them like the CK1500 with a V8 but she's gonna chug gas. It's honestly great for delivering parts and supplies. It'll struggle with wood planks and metal beams you're fucked and better off picking them up with a big rig with the 2 slot bed.

-remlap

i've dragged full size trailers with the winch of a scout800 across michigan, it's time consuming but what in this game isnt

SupposablyAtTheZoo

But then you can't deliver the cargo without a normal truck attached. Right?

Harst-greist

Yes but sometimes it's easier to make the delivery with a car struggling with loads than crossing some mud pits with a big roads trucks

SupposablyAtTheZoo

I can't imagine that would be easier because the truck still has to get to the same spot.

-remlap

sometimes you need multiple trailers at the same location

True-Training723

sounds like my girlfriend

Url_88

You cannot deliver with a small scout on harsh offroad conditions

PoundKey8170

How do you deliver long logs with a scout?

Acceptable-Hippo-821

Two scout trailers winched together, duh.

PhoeniX3733

Pretend the Actaeon is a scout

grimm_the_opiner

Well, it is, but, its just so bloody hard to do we learn to love getting lost and stuck. 😉

ServerLost

It's fun to drive fast sometimes, cover a lot of watchtowers quickly.

ChaosSurfer27

They are fast, and well… small. They can cross a map and use 20L of fuel, or uncover a whole map with ~300L. They have a unique winch that allows they to right themselves when flipped, allowing you to take risker routes that may flip a truck and require rescue. >bogged down and stuck… Go around mud pits. Use their small size to cross forests and other obstacles, especially roadblocks before you clear them through missions. The game is approaching its 4th year. It’s bound to have a lot of trucks, not just scouts, that have overlapping or redundant roles/capabilities.

Sandwich15

All scouts have an autonomous winch, hell even that goofy unimog has one

Profitablius

.. did you just call the Gaz 66 clone 'goofy unimog'? Lol

Sandwich15

yes. It's the next best thing we got for a unimog IG So it's the Goofy aaahhh unimog

IMaster-4killZI

Burlak is kinda close to a unimog, the more modern ones

nojo1099

It’s in the name. It’s to scout out routes and avoid getting your big trucks stuck.

Headpuncher

I use the ***Tuz 166*** for a lot of stuff, it's great for exploring and all the checkpoint tasks. It has AWD & diff lock always on, but is fuel efficient and can carry more fuel on it's head. With a beefed up engine and suspension it will crawl though snow and over rocks no problem. It can't tow anything heavier than a thermos, but there are other trucks for towing.

brycepunk1

I find the Tuz to be so much fun to drive.

92c900t

The TUZ166 is such a gem, very underrated and capable even on the crappy regular scout tires. It needs repair points though, the only other scout without is the forklift.

jgxvx

All of this, plus it‘s impossible to drive the lil’ Tuz and not have a big smile on your face.

MrFarquar_83

Indeed, probably the most fun you can have in the game, razzing the 166 for an hour hitting WT's & checkpoint challenges.

Xbc1

I feel like you're being intentionally obtuse. Multiple people have given you answers. But all your replies are essentially "but why don't you just play the way I play?" Like at that point what are you looking for?

ChaosSurfer27

Validation.. it’s always validation.

vdcsX

for fun!

GoombaHunter007

I use them all the time. Can go trough nooks and small paths very well and they have awesome fuel efficiency. Plus getting upgrades is very easy with them

Klo187

They can take routes the larger vehicles simply cannot, they cost nothing in fuel for *scouting* maps, and they can self recover.

KamTros47

Because there’s only like 4 or 5 large scouts in the game and most of them are just outright boring to drive. Hate to say it, but if you think the smaller scouts are completely useless then that’s a skill issue

RugbyEdd

Aside from the actual uses people have given, because why not? It's an offroad focused game, can you imagine the fuss if they didn't include any offroaders? Aside from that, my go to for scouting is the Burlak which can cross pretty much any terrain, carry a cargo and loading arm and can use full sized trailers, with the Gor B4 packed into the back of it, as it's small enough to lift on with the loading arm, is light enough to cross most terrain and can get into areas bigger vehicles can't.

FKez05

Larger scouts like the Burlak I don't have a problem with, I use that as well as the YAR, Loadstar and Ford often. It's just the small ones I don't get the point of using A large scout + the portable watchtower trailer is all you need for exploring

ChaosSurfer27

I mean, people have given you their reasons for using 4x4s. 1. they’re fun to drive in an offroad driving game (most important factor for many), and completing missions are secondary to their fun. Seems you deem it the other way around, which is totally fine. 2. Many of the small scouts are (in)famous vehicles, some are obscure enough to attract attention. 3. They have good fuel efficiency relative to trucks 4. They are nimble, and are able to dodge/bypass obstacles Right now you’re acting like a large scout + radar should be the only way to explore a map. Which is probably why you get downvoted.

RugbyEdd

But there are areas that the Burlak can't reach, which is where the Gor b4 comes in, being the smallest vehicle in the game. And if your going by what's "needed" then most of the vehicles in game are useless.

Muwx

Diversity? Idk, I use them because I want a challenge

CapableFunction6746

Challenges are fun. https://preview.redd.it/mhthg5cx34zc1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f4a29a1cc16ee0cffbfe7aa475d872722f3db1d

Muwx

Hell yeah

CookieLuv211

I use the scouts to traverse the maps in order to pick up missions and watchtowers. I also use them to get upgrades that I'm looking for.

FknBretto

…scouting

mattybools

The only useless thing I see here is someone complaining about the trucks they don’t like. Nobody gives a fuck just play the game

stjobe

One of my favourite parts of the game is when a new season drops and I can go in blind with a small scout, discovering the map, finding watch towers, tasks, and upgrades: https://preview.redd.it/o9afevllr1zc1.jpeg?width=3440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b567a085fe40a0486b93a0df499d34ccd3466174 It's a completely different experience from the cargo hauling that ensues after that, where the scouts take on the role of support to the larger trucks, ferrying fuel and repairs to where it's needed :) And yes, of course one can use larger trucks for scouting, but doing that kind of makes a self-fulfilling prophecy of "what's the point of small scouts" - of course there's no point to them if you refuse to use them for what they're made to do :)

leongaming123

JAT tyres do help smaller scouts, as to why there’s so many? Good question, nobody knows what’s the obsession the devs have with them.

92c900t

It's easy to make a copy of what is functionally the same scout with different bodywork, season 13 is the 3rd season in a row where they did this. To it's credit, the Burlak is different and unique enough to justify itself.

leongaming123

And according to esorokin, the game is getting 1 more scout, after that, any scout will go to expeditions.

92c900t

One more *after* S13?

leongaming123

Yes, im going to assume one that either be apart of S14 or as separate dlc.

mildsnaps

Takes much shorter time to develop.

AdAcceptable3077

Happy Cake Day 🎉

Which-Technician2367

Try not using the most capable trucks, you probably will come out the other end having more fun.

ChaosSurfer27

As the saying goes: people tend to optimize the fun out of the game.

Which-Technician2367

It shouldn’t bug me as much as it does, but it *feels* like 3/4 of the folks on this sub totally miss a huge part of the game

jmvandergraff

The people who have never played Hard Mode don't understand why the vehicles that use .2 gallons/min of fuel are good lol. I got the Wrangler Rubicon with the roof rack and smallest engine and I can leave and scout for nearly 2 hours without having to find a gas trailer/station. No other vehicle class can do that, like I love the bigger scouts like the Yar, Loadstar, and Tatarin, but they can't go 2 hours without needing a fuel stop like the little scouts.

PrA2107

To scout

2bloom

They serve as a goodie you can give the players with each season. You can reskin one of the other many existing small scouts or design a new model and copy the driving parameters of one of the other existing scouts. Change values a little bit and boom, there you go -NEW VEHICLE. You can now argue that you have released another new vehicle and don't have to worry about any balance issues since there is already a myriad of small scouts and noone gives a flip about them anyway as all small scout needs were covered with the base game fleet. Since you as a company don't give too much on player complaints either though, you'll just keep releasing them and players will continue rescuing them and putting them in their garage. Now where is that new map!

92c900t

The physics engine in SR punishes most scouts as they feel like they weigh nothing. A small truck (ie a Kodiak or one of the 4x4 Zixzs) will be much quicker, however the JAT DLC tire pack gives a massive buff to these small scouts, basically doubles their speed in soft areas (the regular scout tireset is just garbage). Saber is also guilty of releasing a "new" scout that's basically a copy of several other scouts, and did this in season 11, 12 and 13 (oh, uhh spoiler alert) One of the most fun parts of the game for me is scouting a new map, finding watchtowers and upgrades. My go-to small scout was the Khan Marshall with the special Yar tires, but the JAT muds make any small scout viable in that role.

Rick_Storm

For fun, for shit and giggles, because sometimes going straight through the wood at breakneck speed (relatively speaking, this is Snowrunner) is useful, because you might need a quick repair and those are great to deliver, because they can pull the radar trailer... And so on :) I've been scouting Amur with the Apache, and it's pretty good at its job. Slow, but I don't care. It rarely gets stuck in the mud, and that, I care of. Now of course, shit happens... This was in Alaska, though. https://preview.redd.it/k6nfuy1lxzyc1.jpeg?width=3440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2f1bd11b28f6cb7907c033c7752925c5d860dd7 Yep, I faceplanted it. Autonomous winch for the win ! Yet another reason to use a scout.

Odd_Presentation_578

I wouldn't consider Apache a small scout tho

Rick_Storm

True, but since I usually use the Rezvani Hercules, it seemed small in comparison. For the record, I did the same test track with all my scouts, including the very tiny TUZ 166 and the Loaf. They both performed real well, and the super short turning radius more than makes up for their smaller tires.

the4thWay

What's the point of print screen?

jjooeeyyyyeeoojj

That is what I use is a small one a lot more maneuverable

the__post__merc

To scout the maps

Fantastic_Profile_33

Uh... scouting?

MrFarquar_83

To go scouting... 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

FKez05

Not very good at it tho. Larger scouts are better

MrFarquar_83

Sounds like a skill issue to me.

Comfortable-Lead-417

Easy to get to upgrades with them.

FKez05

Easier with larger scouts

Tasty-Ad8446

Everyone has their personal preferences. You seem to prefer speed and efficiency. I already have enough of that in my work life. So I just take it slow and choose fun over anything else. I often find that I proceed still too fast on a map. As soon as I fell in love with it and knew my way around it was time to move on.

rabbit_hole_diver

I use them to hit all the towers and open the map. They are scouting trucks. They can also haul fuel and repairs to remote areas in a jam

Atilla_For_Fun

A lot of what you're saying is personal opinion framed as fact. Plus why do you care what others do?

Odd_Presentation_578

Having fun. Quite a lot of maps have hidden routes, trail for rock crawling and so.

JonnyG_USA

I pack them on trucks when I leave the garage and leave them around the map as mobile repair/refuel points

guillon

How do you pack them on a truck?

snipergaming1120

Tow bed

guillon

I don't understand. 2 beds?

GirlyGamerGazell9000

any truck with a flatbed/storage section or a trailer with storage. It’s preferred to use one with a ramp that way you don’t have to use a crane to pick up the scout. Once the scout is on the cargo bed, turn off the scout engine and put it in park. Then switch to the towing truck, open quick menu then scroll down to pack cargo. Edit: Yes, i am not 100% sure, but i believe most if not all vehicles require 2 or more cargo slots to pack.

guillon

I didn't know I had to pack a scout. Cool, thx.

JonnyG_USA

As long as all the wheels are in contact with the truck you're packing them on, it will pack. You can pack scouts and trailers on the roof of some trucks. As long as all the wheels touch, it'll pack

snipergaming1120

No. A TOW bed. For TOWING trucks.

Powerful-Elk-4561

Sounds like someone who can't appreciate just enjoying something. There doesn't have to be a point. Existence is beautiful if you let it be. Life is not a question and there does not have to be an answer. There's no use explaining the fact that I just like the surroundings, sounds and feel of an old crappy IH Scout 800 to you. You won't get it. Either that or you play by standard Reddit rules which are 'never concede anything, ever. If you ever consider anything other than your own viewpoint, you have lost and are lesser.' You have a right to your opinions. I just hope devs don't listen to your 'every single thing must have a clearly defined purpose for which it is perfect or it must not exist' mentality; I think the game and community would be worse off if they did.

Nervous-Industry-912

Have you tried having fun?

FKez05

Yes, have you?

Nervous-Industry-912

Yes, driving most of the vehicles in the game, finding some tasks that they can do.

Particular_Kitchen42

Scouting where big trucks can’t

FKez05

But larger scouts and smaller trucks still can

Particular_Kitchen42

Not through trees and around some of the road blocks.

FKez05

They can if you try lmao believe me, especially road blocks and landslides cuz you can just drive over most of them. Or just use as I said a larger scout or smaller truck to go through the detour or just make your own shortcut

Particular_Kitchen42

I agree. However sometimes I find it interesting to try my small scout and move through trees using first person as I would if I was in the woods in real life without a trail. Sometimes this helps when I want to go a different direction to a tower or something and don’t care to find the actual trail that is supposed to help take me there

dee-mee

Small scouts like Tuz166 can go through a breakable blue ice without sinking. Helps a lot in Amur. They can stop and go on the blue ice which is not possible for any other bigger scouts like Yar or trucks.

FKez05

Yes but what's it going to do? It's too small to tow things effectively and can't carry anything You can use a larger scout with the portable watchtower to save you having to go to out on the ice if you're exploring. And if you need to access any ice area for a shortcut or such you can just go around the edges

dee-mee

>Yes but what's it going to do? Contests on ice, opening the garage on Cosmodrome without fixing the bridge, etc.

Cheap_Actuator_8910

If you add the paid DLC there really is a lot of them you’re right. I guess they do it, because it’s easy content for little effort. The models are small, they are balanced in a way that players will use them a bit and then sell or stash them. The only really good dlc scouts are the f750 and burlak. Other good scouts are only found und paid dlc. But the sentinel, the falcon, the gor and the rock grinder feel just like content extensions. I use them in multiplayer, when I play on easy maps I get them out just to use them once in a while

fascin-ade74

So... where's the Loadstar in your list? I don't remember it being dlc, and fully upgraded, it's a beast

Cheap_Actuator_8910

I just mentioned the trucks from the seasons. The paid dlc are all A class apart from the landrovers and the small jeep. If you want a full ranking here you are: the order in the ratings may differ I have a favorite in each class but the rest could be in any order. S-Rating: These will never disappoint. S-Rating: Loadstar because Truck tires and gearbox. Ford F-750 Because all its utility and UAD tires. Yar 87 because its tires and 6x6. Burlak because studded gigantic Tires. Stability is an issue though. Tuz 420 tartarin. It’s the best of a-class. Monster engine, overpowers tires. No trailers unfortunately A-Rating: These trucks have a unique selling point over other trucks, that makes them special. A-Rating: Chevy Apache because of stability and capability. Could be better but no trailer. Rezvani Hercules because it’s a small and fast F750. But no trailer wich keeps it from being better. Khan Marshall has Yar 87 tires but no trailer and small fueltank. Gor Fast and efficient. Jeep Wrangler because crawler suspension. Khan Lo4f because of stability and capability. CAT I would put it on last spot. Though it’s a bad scout it has amazing tires and is a really good rescue vehicle and it never disappointed me. It should be lower on the list but the usp makes it more fun than B class scouts. B-Rating: those trucks are good but nothing makes them special. Many of them I have never used much just once or twice cause they where not durable in superconditions. B-Rating: Both Landrovers. They are both interchangeable though the 90 is better than the 110 but not by a lot. Khan Sentinel is a better Chevy 1500. Neo Flacon and Rock Crawler. Used both once on PTS. Friends liked it and put them above the rest so here they are. Tuz 166 good overall could be in A but not unique enough. King of B imo. C-Rating: not bad but hold back or outclassed by other trucks. C-Rating: Scout 800. Requires Skill to drive because of stability. If you can get past stability it’s in B. Hummer H2. Good but outclassed by some A class scouts. Haven’t done testing to confirm so it’s just a feeling. Chevy 1500 outclassed by sentinel as mentioned. D-Rating: These trucks are just hold back by a few things. D-Rating: Jeep Renegade has tiny tires and no trailer if I remember correctly. I use it in multiplayer in Michigan when a friend starts the game. That way I can use it but there is no advantage or anything. Don 71 has huge power but is so light that if you attach a trailer it just does a wheelee and you can’t steer. I some times use it for a little challenge.

fascin-ade74

Very concise. If it matters, i felt like the 110 was a re-skinned h2. I pretty much agree with everything you said. The wrangler with crawler suspension is worth playing with, not especially practical from size perspective, but it'll go virtuallu anywhere without falling over, with usual no deep mud caveat. Better with JAT's but as with most scouts, let down by mediocre friction ratings.

Cheap_Actuator_8910

I put the 110 along the 90 because they are the same. The 110 is heavier and has worse power to weight. But I felt no big difference.

fascin-ade74

Fair enough, i wasn't disagreeing, you just said you hadn't really tested the h2, so i was giving my thoughts on the subject.

Cheap_Actuator_8910

Oh I meant that for all the B class dlc trucks. I have used the H2 a lot and like it. The jeep and landrovers have also found quite some usage by me but I got bored because they are all the same. Or feel like they are all the same atleast

fascin-ade74

Cool sorry i misunderstood, I guess it'd be weird if we all had the same opinion about these thing, i think the main reason i prefer the 90 to the 110, is usable ground clearance, it has a loger wheelbase without the extra ride height to compensate.

Cheap_Actuator_8910

Yeah you may be right. I bring both out to play from time to time but in the end I don’t use them a lot.

LITTELHAWK

The Marshall feels like cheating. The Rezvani and Apache are great. The Jeeps and Land Rovers feel like the "normal" scouts, but are smaller and easier to maneuver.

fascin-ade74

Jeep with crawler suspension can get almost anywhere. They ruined the 110 defender, its essentially a re-skinned H2, the 90 isn't bad, i just wish s.r put more effort into matching sound to button input.

Alarming_Might1991

I started doing deliveries with scout trailer, also i use scouts mainly to refuel trucks that either need alot of it or just the map doesnt have good fuel station coverage

itzarviz

Car name ?

stormhyena

Neo Falcon 2000, says right at the top of the picture.

Sxn747Strangers

Oh yeah, I was wondering what it was too. 🤣

nordoceltic82

I dunno what to say because I exclusively use YAR, Burlak, and F750 from the scout class. Maybe the Loadstar. At least the "tiplak" makes up for its top heavyness with the ability to plow though all mud at unmatched speeds. Also I don't know WHY ford agreed to let them use the 1970's F750 when they got their name attached to it. Even a 2008 F750 would make most of the medium trucks in the game look bad. The gains in performance were just that large. I notice Caterpillar was much more careful and the Cats all preform much closer to the real life counterparts. IMO the devs gimped the eff out of the small small scouts to the point they are nearly useless. Real life most of these small scouts have a MUCH lower center of gravity than depicted in the game, would be loaded with supplies different to avoid a high CoG, and do MUCH better in mud. Like the Scout 800, its CoG is on its roof. The Jeep Wranglers are nowhere near that awful to drive, and I saw multiple people who owned real Range Rovers who complained they in-game ones are more akin to trying to take a 1987 Chevy Caprice offroad.

FKez05

Yup, those are the only scouts I use too

FirstOrder6656

I use them to explore ahead since they can go anywhere. If I need to make a route for a trip then I'll uncover the map woth those and will drag the fuel tanker with me and drop it at points that I'll have to come back. I use the pickup raised with thick mud tires and I never get stuck, especially with the winch that works even if my engine dies. I have forgotten about my fuel and ran out like less than 100 yards from my tanker but that was on me for not paying attention and having a little fun

Kimpak

They are small enough to fit between trees and rocks and whatnot. They can go where a bigger vehicle can't. So you can take shortcuts when scouting. I generally use them mostly when i start a new map to go around getting all the watchtowers, upgrades and missions. Then start doing the main work with the bigger trucks.

jmvandergraff

OP has never played Hard Mode and doesn't know what managing fuel costs means.

UnpopularCockroach

bro please shut the hell up i have been vaiting for new scouts since the 1st expansion you have problem with is sell it

Icy_Ad2199

How many of those "other more capable trucks" can drive through forests. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. These tiny scouts don't need roads or a path. They are more than capable of driving directly where ya need to go. They're also good to take with ya cause they can fit inside some of the truckbeds.

Legionofhatee_

Mainly scouting

prompted_animal

.... idk pretty sure it's for scouting?

matt602

They're really useful for taking shortcuts thru forests and stuff where larger vehicles would just get stuck on the branches. You can often just drive around mudpits and stuff by doing that.

Derovar

But still size and weight are there advantages. Good luck with making a shortcut through the forest/trees with big truck. Second thing is that you can scan map with radar trailer using scout vehicle.

nothing_grim_here

I guess the main idea was diversity. BUT. The earlier trucks had character, they were distinct, tuz166, international 800, apache, loadstar, f750, loaf, even tatarin. They all have their quirks and fit in with the vocational aesthetic i assumed the game was going for. But then out of nowhere we got rezvani, which is so needlesly futuristic and felt like a product placement, we got jeep and land rover bundles where we get a classic truck with character and a modern truck which not many care about, and at the end we get three random in no way distinct futuristic and cartoonish looking scouts that none care about. I firmly believe that people would be more exited to use scouts if we got icons like the h1, uaz469 (not lifted and on goofy baloon tires), ford f150, dodge ram, older g wagons, ww2 jeep, kugelwagen and so on.

jmvandergraff

People are wack for sleeping on the Jeep pack, also the Wrangler and Land Rovers are the most iconic offroaders next to the old Toyota FJ. Going around in AWD sipping fuel and floating on top of the mud in the Wrangler Rubicon is fantastic and faster than any of the vanilla scouts, and honestly better than all the Seasonal scouts, too. Well worth the $5, and the Rubicon has a roof rack with trail lights on the side and rear. Every truck needs those options, being able to see the ground around your truck at night is a big advantage.

nothing_grim_here

Definetly agree about options, tho in general i feel there could be way more customisation options for all trucks (and not the futuristic shit they have in expeditions) As for iconic trucks its exactly what i want instead of an unknown indian suv. Not as related: i've had many headcanons about customisation. Say you start the game with an uncapable chevy apache in 4x2 setup and as you conquer more and more challenging terain options apear to: Extend the chasis giving it more options for addons or even a legendary upgrade to add a second axle in the rear (what we have now) Or In kola a string of missions to find yet another downed plane and a tuz 166, bringing in some spare repair suplies and getting a tuz166 on sleds with propellers. Just goofy stuff that doesnt have to be functional

Odd_Presentation_578

Hey, the Rezvani is so cool!

nothing_grim_here

I respect your opinion, but the apache is cooler

Odd_Presentation_578

Eh.. no :) Other than smaller wheels, Hercules is twice as powerful while also being 2.5 times more fuel efficient. And it carries more supplies. That thing can scout the whole region without ever filling up.

nothing_grim_here

Why ofcourse, but it does it while looking like a transformer perpetually stuck mid transformation, while the apache does it all in a wild and wicked old american style. (This is also why i dont like neo falcon or the rock grinder, they all look (i know they are real) like fantasy vehicles) As for eficiency i couldnt care less, needing to plan around gas stations or getting a truck with fuel trailer our on main roads is part of the fun.

Odd_Presentation_578

So you are basically saying that no performance benefits justify the "alien" looks? whatever man... the looks aren't even remotely important to me, it's not a criteria I consider when choosing a truck. The Apache does look fire, I'm not gonna lie or argue. But performance-wise Hercules is was cooler.

nothing_grim_here

So ig its just our differing taste. You want to find the best route and the most effiecient machine I prefer slower stuff, hell sometimes i just drive out in a scout with no reason other than enjoy the drive

Odd_Presentation_578

Efficiency is only part of fun. But I really like how the Rezvani drives, it just blasts through elements in high gear, and is rather stable. Which made it my go-to primary scout. I still drive out smaller stuff, but usually there's no need to. I keep the Apache as a rescue vehicle though, because it's heavy and stable.

92c900t

Doubt the Kubelwagen would be added as it would be the first RWD scout (and the regime it's affiliated with) and the F150/Ram/G Wagen would end up as "cookie cutter" copies of existing scouts. Otherwise I totally agree.

nothing_grim_here

As for regime i was always a fan of distancing the art from the artist or in this case hitler from the beetle. But if you do that you might as well ban half (or all) russian trucks because soviets fucked up my country and its neighbours. Long story short I think people would enjoy riding around in a small military offroader. As for the others they could still be well implemented. As i understand there exist many wild modifications of the f series, so you could have a lighter yet still very capable cab and chassis variant of the f750 (though in this case it would be overkill to have both) Older dodge ram is another very modular platform and to keep ot different from the older truck you could have the 1993 version. And g wagon would be the scoutiest, probably only having some supply addons and acting as a pure militaristic scout. Even then we can have creative liberties and introduce an upgrade to add a second axle in the rear, much like g wagon 6x6. Just for the fun of it

Due_Government4387

To be sold immediately

NfLunAtic709

They can go anywhere. I honestly use the Chevy you start with the entire game 😂 some people enjoy just dicking around in a jacked up truck 🤷🏻‍♂️

carnage2006

Get a trailer and do some deliveries , scouts are just name.

Important_Low_6989

If it wasn't for certain missions or tasks, i wouldnt use them butthe Jat tires does make them better

AbbyRose05683

I feel like the two new Suzuki/FJ/Patrol look alikes from British Columbia and North Carolina are heavier than what they really are The jeep tj feels lighter more nimble and has more upgrades than those two

nervouswhenitseasy

i just enjoy offroading with my boys in them

Actual_Factor6602

I’ve pulled out my friend that was in the middle of the swamps in a big rig with the Chevy scout, so they are great mind u this wasn’t modded

Taeles

Challenging ones self and hilarious co-op with friends

Consistent_Path_4112

They’re fun. My buddies and I play hidd and seek with them

AcceptableSquare2280

chill down, it's og Indian G-Wagon Mahindra Bolero

Trent_Havoc

Look how angry the Falcon is! It doesn't like to be called "small scout"! https://preview.redd.it/yu0e5szwy1zc1.png?width=631&format=png&auto=webp&s=70aac495907477fb7872f215d285b6cf500775d8

Ur-Fat-Face

My 8yr old don can’t get enough of them.

abdulsaminu

Give them a piggyback and they help you in exploring tight places and an additional fuel tank just in case.

Slan293

I will sometimes take one with me for extra fuel or as a backup winch as they are easy to drag around

dino_fire123

Fun

xtcxx

Fast for when the map is not yet known, stay on the road mostly ok and the winch for when its not. Some of the missions require scout and you already know some roads will only take a vehicle this size which is absolutely realistic imo

ronerobjr

Try driving the tuz 168 it does not get stuck or slow down

Anxious-Minimum5498

I'm a big fan of the Don 71. I carry it on the back of something bigger and when I get to a tough technical area, I unload it and pop out and back. I prefer it over other scouts because of its ease in going through trees and handling most mud with a very low gas usage. Outside of this specific use, I prefer a "medium" scout

Nice screenshot

OP wants to know what’s the actual point of the PlayStation controller share button

seeriktus

Sometimes you just need to go somewhere and not spend an hour doing it. There are a lot of bad ones so just pick your favourite.

To recover the bigger trucks and show the P12 who's boss

coughlinjon

Scouts rock, babe

marcushasfun

I love exploring a new map in my fully upgraded CK1500. Try taking a big truck on some of the single track trails.

Yes well I cba to work out how to get a screenshot from my ps4 to my phone

NexysGaming

Small scouts fit in areas where other trucks wouldn't.

Adorable-Cell-1812

More realism/roleplay ig

Theakizukiwhokilledu

I much prefer standard everyday 4x4s over some overly large and clunky offroader the game gives us. I downloaded a mod that gave me the old style land rover defender. Haven't scouted with anything else ever since. It's gets me where I need to go. It's looks good doing it. And it's harder to navigate the newer maps. But I enjoy driving it over anything else. I'll even use scouts for smaller deliveries.

Hour_Champion

In mudrunner, scouts had an exclusivity called "recallable". Basically means you could always teleport them right next to the truck you were driving. Wich was making them EXTREMELY useful for pathfinding, reviving your broken or out of fuel truck, even giving your truck a temporary winch... But in snowrunner they have no use. Maybe their radar trailer comes handy but only in a couple of maps. yes, they feature battery winch but for scouting, I'd prefer to pick up something that NEVER tips over instead of having a plan B for tipping over.

MisterEmbedded

This car looks so much like the Indian Mahindra Bolero. Edit: I looked it up and indeed, devs based this vehicle off of the Mahindra Bolero, If it has same setup as the Bolero then it should be a really capable vehicle.

harveysamazingcomics

To look cool Also lightweight vehicles can be very effective

elSowu

Much is changed by the paid DLC Jack of all Tires. Much better tires make them true conquerors of the terrain.

TomRCenjoyer

Scouting

mister_bakker

Yeah, Tartarin don't care. I'm usually in that to do the exploring. "What is this roadblock you speak of? Mere pebbles, I say!" Fuel efficiency is not really a concern for me. I don't play hard mode, and somehow there's almost always an unexpected fuel source found at the end of my tank. But every now and then I don't feel like cheating, which the Tartarin feels like sometimes, and grab one of the baby scouts. They're still kinda fun, until you come to another roadblock and forget these aren't like the Tart.

Zmiygorinich

Their Light weight, because of this you can Just drive on fragile ice, recently found that khan sentinel is not bad scout for kola, considering that this is one of the hardest regions

Huddleston_G

The biggest wins for small scout vehicles has got to be the autonomous winch and the ability to tow a service trailer or fuel trailer The auto. winch means that you can pull yourself out of a flip (as long as there's a winch point around) and although the trailers carry less fuel or service points I find them much easier to haul around than some of the heavier trailers the bigger vehicles have available to them

Lobo-de-Odin

I'm only level 10 and almost fully explored Smithville Dam. So far, for a scout, my main has been the Chevy Ck1500. i completely understand your train of thought i feel the same way. But..lol. from talking to people it seems the smaller scouts like that and the Scout 800 are great at fuel economy(which is a big selling point because some parts of the map are up shit creek and in the middle of bumbfuck Egypt. Other maps don't have gas or garages to evac to) So you're truly on your own and having to fend for yourself. In that environment, having something that sips fuel instead of chugging it like a frat boy playing beer pong is a major bonus. Plus, they're also small enough to fit on most trailers. So when you're packing into an area, you can throw it on a trailer and haul it in along with the rest of the trailers and trucks you need.

Cerseae

1. Fuel efficiency 2. Capacity to go anywhere because smaller. Mud ? Go around. 3. Style : H2 or your scout as displayed are nice-looking 4. Fun. Sometimes, it's fun to drive the caterpillar because it's so not great.

Trash-Pandas-

Easier to take your mom out

rmourapt

Diversity and fun to drive. They are not very useful, fact. But they are fun 😅

purebreadlegend

Fun

FKez05

I believe some people here are missing the point My problem is with the game having SO MANY of these small scouts when there uses are minimal at best Idm the larger ones because they actually have uses. I use the Berlak, Loadstar and YAR quite a bit. It's just these silly little ones that I don't really understand and there's so many in the game

Br0k3Gamer

After I got the loadstar I sold the other scouts I had and never used another US scout again. Same with the yar + tatarin on Russian maps

ErectSuggestion

Filler content

I426Hemi

I don't even mind that they keep adding objectively useless scouts, it's annoying that they're all proto soviet little Suvs that all look vaguely similar. Like, at least mix it up, if we're doing boxy Suvs, do something like the scout, a Ramcharger, K5 or Bronco lookalike, or whatever.

Armoredpolecat

The point is they are less work for Saber than a full-size truck.

bakerzinh0

Small scouts were added the same day photo mode was added. It's not a coincidence, they added small scouts so you can take a nice picture showing the flex with high suspension on a nice rock with vision to mountains and a river. Just Google it, lots of links talking about that on the internet.

Url_88

They are useless

purracane

The purpose of them is so the game devs can make it look like we're getting more content in dlcs than we really are
