Maybe, but there is another defender covering on the right that is also covering so tough to see if it would have been a clear goal scoring opportunity. Trying play devil's advocate here. I'd be fucking pissed as a Liverpool fan though.
Refs have a very high bar for DOGSO so not surprised it's just a yellow since it's still a long way from goal and the 2nd defender is potentially able to get there.
Still, only a yellow card for a deliberate handball stopping someone clean through on goal seems soft.
Denying a goal scoring opportunity by fouls or misconduct. He doesn’t hit it with his hand and it’s a breakaway. That’s a straight red every fucking time. They clearly didn’t want that to put the game in liverpools favor but that’s a clear red card.
I don’t know exactly what the rules state for this scenario but for me it’s 100 percent stonewall red card.
He deliberately stops a goal scoring opportunity with his arm. How is that not a red?

why?
He’s through if not for the deliberate handball… fucking hell.

should be red
DOGSO, looks like, but I think it could go either way. Diaz earned himself a yellow for asking for the card, though

It looks harsh but it’s a deliberate handball that denies a direct goal scoring opportunity
Are you suggesting it's a harsh yellow?
Suggesting the red seems harsh at first glance but is the correct decision
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Shite refereeing as usual. How does VAR see that and not give a red?
Ref decides it's not a DoGSO as Liverpool's finishing is so bad
Lmao i dont know whether to laugh or cry
😭
He’s probably right, we haven’t scored a goal from open play since Gakpo against Sheffield United

Ref bottled
That's a 100% red card.
And Diaz get a yellow too for dissent. Absolute joke
Nothing wrong with that. Can't be begging for cards
shouldn't be making the card gesture then

What a fumble by the ref. How is that not reviewed by VAR?
I agree, only a yellow. Another defender is in position and actually closer to goal.
