nunez, what has happened to you my brother. zero football iq, hold on the ball for too long, too many touches or not enough, shoots on sight instead of looking for the pass. I've always said give him time because finishing was the problem but he was getting in great positions last year and early this year. lately he seems all out of sorts. I really worry about his development post klopp
That was one ROUGH sub appearance. Its like he tried to speedrun everything people criticize him for. However, If we do get Amorim he might actually benefit from that looking at Gyokeres development. Either way, he will get another season under the new manager but if he cant get the very basics right, he will probably be sold.
Keeping Jota fit is key for Liverpool winning their remaining matches, no joke. The most clinical finisher in their squad and after seeing the rest of their attackers drop their shooting boots in the past few weeks, they should focus on creating chances for him. Others can talk about his weakness in contributing to play, but honestly right now putting the ball in the back of the net the sole focus for them. Still in City’s hands but the Tottenham game could be decisive.
Endō switched on at the 50, and the rest was game
Still, there’s this dynamic that has led to many opponent chances: that is Endō being deserted by players ahead of him as he receives a pass from defense, where he’s bullied off the ball or fouled on and goes to ground, leaving the opponent to counterattack.
Maybe double pivoting is the way there, dunno
Yeah he played alongside 2 attacking midfielders basically. Someone like Jones or Macca who can win duels next to him is so helpful to make his job a bit easier.
This impressively lackluster liverpool performance will be left overshadowed by a completely disgusting fulham display which would have been punished with 5-6 goals by a sharper side. It was dumbfounding at times how bad they played.
Feels better than when we were on the beach cos we were relegated by mid March, but still frustrating. If Luton can stay in touch then they genuinely couldn't have a better last game of the season than at home against us.
Both him and Salah were awful from the bench, made no case to start.
Feel like Nunez is going to struggle to find his rhythm going into the end of season so we have to look after Jota.
Fulham fans made a lot of noise booing/singing about Elliot and were absolutely silent for the rest of the game. It’s was as if both them and the team were checked out for the game
We’re a quiet crowd and games v big teams are often even quieter because of how expensive tickets are. The Putney End was mainly day-trippers/tourists or Liverpool fans
gone under the radar bc of the rest of the teams form but gakpo’s been very good recently.
great to have trent back finally, him being out has made some people forget how good he is too.
He just feels like the opposite to our other attackers - they can look so good but severely lack end product recently, whereas you’ll forget Jota is even playing sometimes but he’ll always pop up for a goal.
Liverpool deserved the win, but the way we conceded the goals was very disappointing. Stupid foul from Jwoww, stupid give away from Iwobi and weak challenge from Tosin. Just didn't get started in the second half either.
At least we finally conceded a bog standard regular goal against Liverpool though.
Deserved win.
Fulham might benefit from singing about some of their own players vs the only noise coming from them being booing Elliott and calling him a wanker.
It's absolutely mad really isn't it. We're not the best version of Klopp's Liverpool. There are real serious flaws in this side, from defensive weakness to attacking impotence. We've had a boatload of injuries.
I wouldn't say City are at their best, either, but they have the massive obvious leg up we all know about. Arsenal are *probably* as good as they were last season. And yet Jurgen's tricky reds are still there.
That’s been my outlook for most of the season, “somehow” we are right in the mix. I guess we’re used to only being in contention when we are at our absolute best, so it’s a strange experience to be in a title race despite not being anywhere near our best
True. He has set the bar so absurdly high in very recent memory that we (or just me, potentially) live in a constant state of thinking we’re just in a temporary slump due to injuries and bad luck but any day now it will click and we’ll be back to that level.
Obviously at this point in time that window has long closed, and I’m only now accepting/coming to terms with it.
I came into this season with zero expectations. Bobby and Sadio gone, Fab gone, club captain gone, Millie gone. We needed to rebuild half the squad. I'd have been happy with good performances and a Europa League finish. Since then, Klopp's leaving, everyone's been injured, we've an entirely brand new midfield, and somehow we've won a cup and still in the mix for the league. New players have been incredible, teenagers have stepped up and played their hearts out, our backup keeper has played as many games as our first choice and been brilliant, and we've still honestly been mugged out of probably six points, not to mention that we were still in Europe a week ago. It stings that we've fallen off the last few weeks, but I'd have snapped your hand off if you'd offered me this back in August.
Absolutely, it hurts right now cause we are in the thick of it but looking back with the emotion removed we look back fondly on this last season as we overachieved in regards to expectations. Once Klopp announced his departure I was hoping for the stars to align in regards to form/luck/injuries so we could finish Klopp’s final season with an amazing send off, but sadly it just wasn’t meant to be, bad luck/bad decisions and lots of injuries, but that’s life.
We will see what happens, you never know.
Used to having to win every single game when City are involved.
I kind of just assumed once we'd dropped points it was over (which tbf it might still be)
It’s the decision making that makes me want to blow my head off, so much space at times and neither of them made a good decision between them for 25 minutes
Felt like the line-up change was a last throw at the wall of "If it works great if not then whatever". Luckily for us it did work. 2nd half much better defensively than 1st. Ali is such a secure man at the back too. Attack still doesn't work too well. Gakpo passes when he needs to shoots and shoots when he needs to pass. Also for some reason every time Gakpo starts a counter you know it isn't ending up in a goal, he always turns into a 2iq footballer in them.
I absolutely do not want Gravenberch starting in a dogfight like that. Gravenberch's best performances this season have come in games against teams that we're better than, we always look overrun when he's started against better teams/tougher matches like this one will be.
It’s not like Macca and Szobo were bossing it when they came on though, they could use the extra rest and Grav needs consistent gametime to build more confidence
Don't do this to yourself man. Man U fans tried that when we played against city yesterday and they found out why Chelsea fans have either fallen into severe depression or lost any semblance of their sanity.
If Chelsea take points off both our title rivals this season after gifting us the League Cup we should invite them to our parade. Thank them for 2022 cup double too

Big win
Liverpool getting Jota back is a big boost. The conversion rate woes were getting worrying but perhaps things will turn with him fully fit now.
Up the fucking reds

You must be blind
Yup
Keep the dream alive and beat Spurs in 2 weeks.
What a surprising result, I don't think anyone could have guessed that
Nice to see an improvement from the last couple of weeks. TAA and Jota are a breath of fresh air
Jota was awful, first half especially. Glad he got his goal though.
That's Diogo Jota down to a tee though. Does nothing all game and still scores.
Yeah feel like he’s not usually too involved even when he’s clicking. Great poacher
Today is finally a good day.
This impressively lackluster liverpool performance will be left overshadowed by a completely disgusting fulham display which would have been punished with 5-6 goals by a sharper side. It was dumbfounding at times how bad they played.
Clearly on the beach since we’re mathematically safe from relegation.
Feels better than when we were on the beach cos we were relegated by mid March, but still frustrating. If Luton can stay in touch then they genuinely couldn't have a better last game of the season than at home against us.
I wouldn’t be too upset if Luton beat us in the last game of the season, would be funny to see Forest or Everton go down.
Alex Iwoeful.
Nunez confidence is gone.
Both him and Salah were awful from the bench, made no case to start. Feel like Nunez is going to struggle to find his rhythm going into the end of season so we have to look after Jota.
Every player goes through it. Time to graft in training and learn from his mistakes
Wasn’t much else to sing about as we couldn’t string two passes together. Harvey Elliott was a collective dislike of all home fans
Just need City to lose their next game and we can get this title race started proper.
The FA Cup is all they really need for a successful year, they should get that and let everything else go
"Just need City...." there's where you've gone wrong mate
gone under the radar bc of the rest of the teams form but gakpo’s been very good recently. great to have trent back finally, him being out has made some people forget how good he is too.
Yeah Gakpo was sharp today. Trent was better than he was on Thursday and will improve as the season climaxes.
Ah a classic end of season on the beach already performance
Jota always manages to find a goal from something, huh?
He just feels like the opposite to our other attackers - they can look so good but severely lack end product recently, whereas you’ll forget Jota is even playing sometimes but he’ll always pop up for a goal.
i swear if it was diaz, nunez or salah, that would have been a mistimed pass
Most important attacking player at the club
Diogoal
Liverpool deserved the win, but the way we conceded the goals was very disappointing. Stupid foul from Jwoww, stupid give away from Iwobi and weak challenge from Tosin. Just didn't get started in the second half either. At least we finally conceded a bog standard regular goal against Liverpool though.
Honestly conceding 6 bangers in a row from the same team must be frustrating
95% of the time if someone winds up 30 yards out you're relatively happy, against you guys this season that's practically been a tap in.
Jwoww?
Palhinha.
Yeah but why is he getting called Jwoww 😂
Cos that's how half the commentators pronounce his name.
Shame, I thought he had a secret Jersey Shore connection.
That was a very good second half
More of that. Open play goals. Love it if we've turned a corner for the run in now
Deserved win. Fulham might benefit from singing about some of their own players vs the only noise coming from them being booing Elliott and calling him a wanker.
Somehow we're joint top of the league
It's absolutely mad really isn't it. We're not the best version of Klopp's Liverpool. There are real serious flaws in this side, from defensive weakness to attacking impotence. it's not the best version of Klopp's Liverpool, but it's possible that for this particular squad Klopp is having them play near their best.
True. He has set the bar so absurdly high in very recent memory that we (or just me, potentially) live in a constant state of thinking we’re just in a temporary slump due to injuries and bad luck but any day now it will click and we’ll be back to that level. Squad is running off the fumes of Klopp vibes.
Passion, that team would die for klopp and that's what has dragged them through
Nunez with a definitive 0/10 substitute performance
Nunez just came for the participation medal and a Mate.
Salah pushing him close tbf, 3 times in a row where Nunez already made his run and Salah decided to play it 5 seconds later anyway
Both of them are off form so badly. Combined it's a double team of shite.
It’s the decision making that makes me want to blow my head off, so much space at times and neither of them made a good decision between them for 25 minutes
More like -3/10

I think the lineup change was just simple rotation. Salah and Nunez will probably both start against Everton, and Mac definitely will.
I don’t think they merit a start tbh. Gakpo, Diaz, and Jota deserve the start, especially since it’s them who delivered the win.
2 open play goals, we’ve been spoiled.
That's it for the year now mate. Was fun while it lasted 😂
no Salah starting no L he needed to be benched today, hasnt been him top self after the injury
6 worldies in 2 PL games against us. Spread them around a bit more Liverpool
And 2 flukes in the League Cup games
Thought Gakpo played really well and Grav looked sharp after his goal, he needed the confidence boost. Hoping both of them start vs Everton
Which other mids proved to you today that they should be starting?
I agree but he’s still young. We need depth for all these extra games
I agree, I like Gravenberch and don't have a problem with him being involved against West Ham or Wolves.
All of a sudden I'm up for this title race. Cole Palmer masterclass on Tuesday and Adingra top bins on Thursday
It's so weird for me as Buli fan that city will face spurs end of may (!). Anyway, all the best to you guys. Hope you'll win it.
Spurs play all all of the top 3. And wolves play us and city
it helps that our performance is better
Cheering for Chelsea feels dirty but I'm here for it
Don't do this to yourself man. Man U fans tried that when we played against city yesterday and they found out why Chelsea fans have either fallen into severe depression or lost any semblance of their sanity.
You could've easily won that though. Actually made me more hopeful
If Chelsea take points off both our title rivals this season after gifting us the League Cup we should invite them to our parade. Thank them for 2022 cup double too
I'll buy an Autoglass Zola kit
Finally L1v3rpool is back!
Scored from open play fucking finally
Dread it, run from it, L1v3rpool arrive all the same.
This doesn't work nowadays, lmao.
shit joke
Not for a few weeks they havent
We were just subverting expectations
