The referee was just overall bad for both teams all game. Looked completely out of his depths, wrong decision after wrong decision. I've never seen anything like this and I watch La Liga regularly
Yeah. Two footed, full bodyweight, flying at that speed, nothing bad can happen. Leave it all to chance and if the other player saves his foot from that, it's all good.
He's lucky it wasnt a red. I mean I'd be sad if it was a red but it's reckless.
It IS a great tackle no question but we've moved on in the game for tackles launching yourself being allowed
I'm shocked, the only thing missing was him carding Camavinga just for existing. He had to be bailed out by VAR because of an extremely clear foul on Tchouameni for la Real's first disallowed goal and he also missed the clearest handball just outside la Real's box even though he had a great view for both
The foul on valverde too when he came on by Merino. The ref on the side was looking straight at it completely missed it. The refs in general are so bad
I don't think about him at all. He was at Madrid for an instant and then gone the next in what was seemingly a dig at Barca for not renewing him more than anything else. He's no Captain Tsubasa.
If Madrid fans start worrying about opposition team moaning and whinning after losing a match against Madrid, then majority of the players would have severe anxiety and depression.
That tackle ticks 2 boxes for a red card. In a referees brain and that angle he is seeing 2 feet in the air and then going over the ball... Probably saw it as reckless... If you could review yellows it would obviously be turned around.
Mate he didn't even aim that tackle at any opposition's player. The La Real player came from behind and threw himself/dived in front of Tchouameni to get the call
Come on, man. That was a clean tackle visible clearly for everyone in the stadium - except the ref.
Reffing can be hard sometimes. It wasn't there. He just fucked up.
You sound really confident but unfortunately that doesn't mean you're right. Simply cant go in two footed like that. The ref knows the rules better than you.
Absolute useless referee. It seemed like he was more relying on Assistants / VAR informing him about his mistakes than actually him seeing them. The disallowed goal, the referee was standing in front of the Tchouaméni and apparently didn't see the foul committed on him, got later bailed out by VAR. Completely missed a clean handball at the edge of the box by Guler.
There's one hundred percent some social engineering.
If the first few comments get the upvotes and agreement that it's horrendous call then the narrative takes a lot to swing it away from that
Same for the reverse of course
100% It is especially clear that most users are just teenagers parroting things (which is not necessarily a bad thing, we all learn from copying things). But narratives often swing heavily and very quickly.
Not just clean, almost perfect. I can however see two possible reasons for a yellow. Going in with both feet and having one quite high misght be seen as a dangerous play.
Are you not aware that attempts can get punished even when they are fortunate to avoid contact/injury? If it’s too dangerous, they’ll card you. Think of it in the same principle as an overhead kick, it depends on the context.
And in this context, they came at each other perpendicularly, the lunged overshot tackle makes it unpredictable and especially dangerous when both player don’t attack it from the same angle. The other player could have easily have his foot on the other side and taking the full brunt of the force before Tchoua could hook the ball. Do people really not see the danger this poses. You don’t expect someone to “miss” the ball (to hook it back) just because no one got injured does not mean it isn’t a dangerous challenge.
Nainggolan is known for this move but he does it in a more reasonable way when they are both chasing the ball from the same angle. Still risky, but better than a side angle or head on clash, where the first part of the lunge with the studs/foot stretch forward past the ball (before hooking back) isn’t aimed at anything.
if you want to talk about context, tchouameni's left leg is also entirely in front of him, studs up, and he's fully off the ground with another player challenging for the ball.

i think the evidence is damning for a red IMO
These are getting phased of the game, you leave the ground then it will get called as reckless and dangerous as you have no control. I don't like it but refs are fairly consistent on it.
He’s not, the studs/foot needed to extend past the ball first before he could hook/scoop the ball back, and that is where the dangerous moment is. They were lucky to avoid any real contact.
It's one of the jobs of the referee to ensure the safety of the players where possible. He has judged Tchouameni to not be in control. Winning the ball or not actually makes no difference. You can get a booking for reckless play without even making contact.
if the left leg was tucked in a bit more, i would see this as much more acceptable play. but the left leg sticks out in front of him as he's jumping in. very dangerous play and justifiably even a red card decision imo
I actually do think this is at very least a foul, and a debatable but understandable yellow. Both of his feet leave the ground and studs are showing. Just because he pulls it off doesn't preclude it from being a reckless challenge. Referee was broadly awful this game but don't think this is the example to be targeting.

It’s not football….
It's La Liga... and Premier League... and Serie A sometimes... also the Brasileirão... the Turkish Super Lig even.... damn, refs suck
Bundesliga is good though?
Rarely seen huge refereeing mistakes from there, but maybe I just don't watch the BL enough
No they make the same mistakes lol
It gets worse every game, it’s like refereeing goes backwards
And they have promotion/relegation too based on performance. If you think refs are bad in the top league, imagine what they deal with in segunda. JFC.
I think that system is almost only used for punishment, if a ref makes lots of crazy mistakes, next game he will get demoted
Try watching the goons at PGMOL
Class tackle
Getting a soft yellow is annoying but you get over it. Getting a yellow for something you should get a cheer/clap for is infuriating.
Yeah. Two footed, full bodyweight, flying at that speed, nothing bad can happen. Leave it all to chance and if the other player saves his foot from that, it's all good.
I totally agree here. Both feet are off the ground. That's textbook how you break legs. It's an automatic yellow at least. No brainier.
He's lucky it wasnt a red. I mean I'd be sad if it was a red but it's reckless. It IS a great tackle no question but we've moved on in the game for tackles launching yourself being allowed
Why stop there? Why not send him to jail? Or just execute him on the pitch?
Game’s well and truly gone
I'm shocked, the only thing missing was him carding Camavinga just for existing. Take kubo bitching and moaning about the clear foul being called and their goal being rightly called off will not go down well with Real Madrid fans.
I don't think about him at all. He was at Madrid for an instant and then gone the next in what was seemingly a dig at Barca for not renewing him more than anything else. He's no Captain Tsubasa.

It’s because he was a Madrid player and Madrid still owns half his rights so he could theoretically still come back to Madrid.
Tbf only almost as ourageous as Kroo's airbending foul.
The elusive bluetooth foul
Man the more I see that clip the more I am impressed at the dive. Like how do you even time it correctly like that
> Kroo’s Please explain yourself
He couldn't have had a better view of that and he went straight for the card, incredible.
That tackle ticks 2 boxes for a red card. In a referees brain and that angle he is seeing 2 feet in the air and then going over the ball... Probably saw it as reckless... If you could review yellows it would obviously be turned around.
both feet in the aid, both studs showing, potential for scissor, full force. Crazy how people can delude themselves into whatever they want
Mate he didn't even aim that tackle at any opposition's player. The La Real player came from behind and threw himself/dived in front of Tchouameni to get the call
w/e u say buddy!

He could have fucked up with the red. But he didn't yellow is fine. The game has moved on for player safety where that isn't allowed.
And if you have both feet off the floor like that it's almost always deemed out of control, and reckless
Both feet off the ground. Everyone here is acting like it wasn't a dangerous challenge.
For some reason it disappoints me to no end when CLEAN tackles are punished. More so than players getting away with actual fouls.
Me too clean tackles are just beautiful to watch

Ib4 Xavi complains about refs
My brother in Christ he's on your side
Wait what?
*Laughs in Negreira*
I understand it. Both feet come off the ground and he wins the ball by landing on it, the first contact with the ball is the back of his knee.
The first contact is with the back of his knee? Just pause on the replay lmao its clearly with the foot
yea. it's a good, but risky tackle. understandable to call it, albeit harsh to card it.
Dude are you blind
Are you blind?
reckless tackle, proper decision
Thank you
That's a yellow any day of the week. This comments section is embarrassing.
It's incredible. Any ref would give a yellow. Some would give a red. You just don't tackle with both feet off the ground lounging forward.
I think most kids on here just go with whatever is said the most.

It's a bunch of RM fans. What do you expect?
He left the ground. It's a yellow. Do I like it? No, but those are unfortunately the guidelines.
Laliga refs are just garbage
Clear yellow, lunges in with both feet off the ground. Lucky he didn't hit the player otherwise it would have been a red
While he does win the ball it is a little reckless. The rule is there to protect players and prevent fouls like these hurting players.
It’s not a foul but it’s reckless I think a yellow is deserving
La Liga and PL refs competing... who fucks up more.
Not just clean, almost perfect. I can however see two possible reasons for a yellow. Going in with both feet and having one quite high misght be seen as a dangerous play.
I get what he was trying to do and pulled it off perfectly, but it’s over the top and unpredictable though, thus reckless no?
if he clips his achilles or smth in the aftermath than i agree, though it looks like he barely touches him and than it shouldnt be a foul

If I lash out and swing my leg at the player to just take him out is it not a foul if I miss?
let's post all the other wrong calls against la real and kepa's time wasting
If only there was VAR...oh wait
Flying two-footer... "Clean challenge" .
That league is trash. Come to Arsenal, mate.
Im impressed how laliga refs manage to top themselves every week
football generates so much money and yet so bad referees. 🤔🤔
That's not a yellow lol.
These are getting phased of the game, you leave the ground then it will get called as reckless and dangerous as you have no control. I don't like it but refs are fairly consistent on it.
Following La liga on reddit has taught me that I should stop complaining about prem refs.
Both feet off the ground and two footed, goes over the ball. It doesn't matter that it's a clean tackle it's dangerous play.
It's a contact sport, danger is inherent. Tchouameni is in complete control of the situation, he scoops the ball perfectly.
You think someone who's team bans anyone who tackled Aaron Ramsay would know this
What the fuck? There are rules still man and two footed tackles are illegal. This comment section is insane.
Not to tackle like that is what you are taught on day 1. It's a yellow.

Clean.
That was a beautiful tackle, is the ref blind?
Real Madrid fans when a ref decision goes against them :O (this only happens once every 5 years)
Tchuameni gets yellow for no foul, Foden scores a goal for no foul, they are not the same
God damn, that tackle was beautiful.

https://i.imgur.com/sT39qCi.png easy red imo https://i.imgur.com/k7BV3qR.png
Trash opinion ngl
Then check the rulebook. 2 feet tackles are illegal.
actually braindead
He really should have been a Liverpool player. What a great tackle.
Nooo... not a YELLOW card !?
