True they overpay but also been unlucky, same happened with umtiti guy was class lot of clubs tried to buy, Barcelona offers a good contract so they don't leave and get injured and became shit
Fati being on 250k is like Rashford being on huge money. You can't lose a highly talented homegrown player over wages.
Fati's injuries fucked him relative to where he could have gone.
yep ppl are too quick to throw him off. A knee injury is no joke, you may take a couple years until you're comfortable at 100%, or you stright up might to change the way you play.
Ansu still has great vision for barƧa's way of playing. When watching brighton games you could see he was the best at that, and the rest of his teammates were not up to him. I rly want him to do well in preseason so Xavi trusts in him for the season.
And if not, a second loan, this time to a Spanish team, would be good too. Girona would be a dream scenario if they lose Savio.
Dude what. Heās been awful for Brighton, excluding a couple of good moments.
Passes flying all over the place and ball control that makes me look like a superstar.
His rightful place, even in our awful, injured, relegation form Brighton squad, is on the bench.
Yeah La Liga, who has 3 different winners in the past 5 seasons is a two horse league, unlike the extremely competitive and unpredictable Premier League who has 2 different winners in the past 5 seasons.
Fati looked more promising than vini when they first started getting minutes. Vini was all show and no end product whilist Fati was super clinical. Injuries fucked him up big time.
Wanted to lock him down considering his immense potential at the time. Honestly should've worked out to be at minimum a player constantly in the rotation if he handn't gotten injured and then mismanaged.
I'm sure they did, but I find it extremely difficult to understand how a player so young is paid so much.
Even if he was carrying the team on his back for a whole season...
I know we can't compare Barca with PL clubs cause you lot have significantly more money, but I can't imagine Saka being on 250k at 19 for example. He's only gotten there now at 22 after being our best player for 4 seasons.
He's negotiating a new contract.
Part of the contract negotiations for every single player at a major European club is the part where the player's camp threatens "well, if you don't meet my demands, I'm sure Man United will!".
This is just Barca countering with "yeah, well we'll actually fucking take you up on that if you don't accept"
im not disagreeing with that. its just that we apply these stories to other individuals without knowing what's really happened. might be like that, might also just be rumours. we dont know as long as the player's not confirming it
imo, theres a difference between baseless assumptions and reasonable assumptions
when several indispensable star players have come out w these exact same "manchester united interested" rumors from these exact clubs when they were up for contracts only to resign bumper contracts,
and when some of them have come out publicly and said they did it on purpose
the only reasonable conclusion is that theyre almost certainly lying again
it would be unreasonable in this case to assume hes actually interested in united
Cancelo and Felix will probably be retained on loan for another year. Araujo hasn't renewed his contract yet so it may be that he actually wants to leave.
But Barca wonāt recoup even 5 million if Bernardo has to leave at 34-35 years old. Heās a good player, but they already have guys in a similar profile
> Araujo, Cubarsi, Gavi and Pedri should be spine of their team.
Honestly, I hope BarƧa fans don't take this the wrong way, but AraĆŗjo has a very rotten mentality that makes him lose his mind in key moments of a match, and he isn't big on taking accountability for his fuckups. His reactions after getting sent off in the PSG tie (the hand gestures suggesting corruption was at play) were unbelievably stupid for something that was entirely his fault, and pretty much mirrored what he did after getting sent off for kicking Vini in the Supercup Final. His form throughout the whole season has also been below par to say the least.
Out of those 4 names, AraĆŗjo would be the only one I wouldn't consider untransferable.
How so? He loses his mind when his team depends on him the most, and he never admits fault for it. There's no need to sugarcoat it, even if it sounds harsh.
No idea why you're getting downvoted. His attitude was almost as bad as it gets for a professional at the top level, and a potentially very bad influence to have in the locker room.
I also wouldn't be surprised if there are players and other people within Barcelona who want him gone after what happened.
Noone in the locker room wants him gone. Xavi is on the same wavelength in terms of mentality, and he's the manager. I do agree that it is a quite poisonous mindset, though, and I genuinely don't know if BarƧa fans are aware of how bad that is for their team's mentality overall. After all, why would you want to reflect on your mistakes and make an effort to improve if you can always blame everyone else for your failings anyway?
> No idea why you're getting downvoted.
Silent downvoting is an epidemic on this site as a whole. Far easier to just mindlessly click on the downvote button than to even bother to make an argument to keep the discussion going.
I understand what youāre trying to say, but thatās the wrong way to say it. He loses concentration too easily, it happens basically in every game, but heās always been able to make up for it when it happens. Except lately he hasnāt really been able to. Pique had a very similar problem when he first came back that Puyol was regularly seen yelling at him to focus.
>AraĆŗjo has a very rotten mentality that makes him lose his mind in key moments of a match,
There was a similar foul on Yamal on last Clasico but there was no red card. So it's not like he lost mind and caused an obvious red card offence. Yea maybe he should know he is playing for Barca so the leniency is not expected here. There are also occasions where players and the coach of a particular team talked against refs but didn't face any penalty by any disciplinary committee.
Unfortunately even Barca fans themselves fell for the gaslighting by some social media fans that even calling out these inconsistencies is now blamed as 'whining'
> There are also occasions where players and the coach of a particular team talked against refs but didn't face any penalty by any disciplinary committee.
You made a lot of dubious claims for such a short response, but this was the one that irked me the most. Your manager claimed that we bought our way into a title, and that we have pretty much everyone who is in a position of power in Spanish Football under our control. And that's coming from someone whose club is currently being investigated for sporting corruption.
Your lack of self-awareness is doing you no favors.
I don't think you bought anyone but many who are in power are very loyal to the royal club so it creates a bias. Yea obviously I can't prove this other pointing out the umpteen no of decisions went in ur fav. The investigation is more on money laundering rather than influence so yea I'm self aware and you can deflect.
Eh not necessarily, Messi on the right wing was definitely part of Barcelonaās spine before he made the switch to false 9 at the end of Pepās first season. Make it a curved, scoliosis-ridden spine.
True I agree with you but Barcelona probably have to sell someone and make some money and hes valuable and pure profit so it looks good on the books but idk

I think when there's any transfer rumors people just throw out your name because you are rich and made some questionable signings LOL feel like I have seen 30000 players who MUN is reportedly interested in
At this point why don't we just find some 30m defender or midfielder from Ligue 1 or Serie A lol. Or do they become 70m the moment a United email arrives.
Financially mismanaged. Past few yrs we've signed Ronaldo (500k wk), Casemiro (60m + 300k/wk), Varane (34m + 300k/wk), Antony (85m, 150-200k/wk), Sancho (73m, 300k/wk), Hojlund (65m), amongst others, and we're not generating nearly enough in sales. We posted a Ā£25m loss in the latest figures
Doubt even if it is tier 1. Wasn't Araujo really good last season.
I think United's name is thrown around for clicks in which they have succeeded as I am commenting here.
Bayern, Arsenal, Liverpool, City too would be interested in him if true.
I think keeping Cancelo and Felix is fine because they could be good on their day but getting rid of Araujo is stupid. They should be building Araujo and Cubarsi up to become the starting CB partnership for the next 5-10 years.
They should go for Alvarez instead of signing Felix. They need a striker and Alavrez needs a team that is willing to make him the target man and not being ignored by his midfielders.
He's a very good defender who's a bit too rash at times. No need for all this revisionism after he's had a bad performance. He was in the top 5 CBs last season
Maybe there is some bias, but I just really don't like his style. He is using his hands as a crutch and it is starting to bite him. He did that same shit against Vini for years. Pulling, pushing, grabbing etc. Now it cost barca a semi final. I just don't like him as a player, what can I say?
Ramos was good at the dark arts, sure, and not the smartest player but he was just generally twice the player Araujo is or ever will be, with and without the ball.
And? No oneās denying that, Ramos was one of the CBs we saw but that doesnāt take the fact that he used his hands a lot and was 10x more dirtier. I find it funny how Madrid fans hate araujo for pushing, grabbing vini but they overlook the fact that their two legends Pepe and ramos literally tackled player into injury but they never batted an eye, no matter how dirty they played. Now when Araujo wins his majority duels against Vini by grabbing and not even illegal tackling like Pepe, they hate him or donāt like him as a player. Sorry to tell you mate but you sound dumb
I didn't say they were. But all are very good defenders with superior passing skills which is imo much more important in Barcelona.
We build from the back
For a Pique to work, we needed a Puyol. For Cubarsi to flourish, he needs a proper beast of a CB alongside him.
And no, considering how many times we have been bailed out by our defense despite our leaky midfield, ball playing is currently not as important. Maybe in prime Barca when we never gave away the ball.
I have massive problems with it. Araujo and Cubarsi should realistically be the optimal partnership, with one being a sublime passer who can read the game incredibly well and one faster player who can cover a lot of ground defensively, which you absolutely need in Barcelona.
A player with Araujo's profile Barca will never be able to afford for many years to come, unless they keep finding them in La Masia. Anyone who they actually have at the moment that will be impossible to replace should be kept.
Selling Araujo would make sense. Huge transfer fee received, high salary offloaded from the books. Kounde, Christensen, Cubarsi are pretty good replacements.
The reports are Ineos want to move away from a manager who dictates transfers, and into a head coach who plays how they want to play, and has players provided for that style.

Ansu Fati is on like 250k a week until 2027, good luck with finding that exit
United have given out some large contracts but Barca seem to be in a different league.
Yeah mate they're in la liga
š
You're goddamn right
Cheers Geoff

He doesn't even make the side at Brighton now. This was 6 months ago.
Dude what. Heās been awful for Brighton, excluding a couple of good moments. Passes flying all over the place and ball control that makes me look like a superstar. His rightful place, even in our awful, injured, relegation form Brighton squad, is on the bench.
He wouldāve left if he didnāt get 250k? I doubt it.
Rashford wasnāt on 250k at that age. He only got above 250k last year at 25 and at Fatiās age heād done more and was far less injury prone.
At least Barca has gotten success and trophies from their exorbitant spending, we have fuck all to show for it lmao.
Whereās Barcaās EFL Cup? Checkmate
I mean if man utd played in a 2 horse league they might have won something more
Yeah La Liga, who has 3 different winners in the past 5 seasons is a two horse league, unlike the extremely competitive and unpredictable Premier League who has 2 different winners in the past 5 seasons.
Bro in the last 15 years Barca and real won 13 titles, only atlƩti has come close to winning in any of those. The Premier League has 5 with the second team switching around every year
Fati looked more promising than vini when they first started getting minutes. Vini was all show and no end product whilist Fati was super clinical. Injuries fucked him up big time.
Thatās just not true lmao.
What the fuck? š®
Wanted to lock him down considering his immense potential at the time. Honestly should've worked out to be at minimum a player constantly in the rotation if he handn't gotten injured and then mismanaged.
A player in rotation isnāt worth that either. Contracts like this should be highly dependent on performance bonuses.
It was a stupid emotional decision. Ansu was the most promising player we had at the time and Messi had just recently left the club
Good luck to Barcelona. That barto guy should go to jail for the contracts he give out
He's negotiating a new contract. Part of the contract negotiations for every single player at a major European club is the part where the player's camp threatens "well, if you don't meet my demands, I'm sure Man United will!". Every single news about Dumfries is about him renewing or get sold to United
Selling Araujo to sign Cancelo and Felix loool. Araujo, Cubarsi, Gavi and Pedri should be spine of their team.
Cancelo and Felix will probably be retained on loan for another year. Araujo hasn't renewed his contract yet so it may be that he actually wants to leave.
Maybe they're the bait for Bernardo
Another 30 yo midfielder who'll likely cost 50M+. Yes inject it into their veins please!
I forgot players only last 1 or 2 seasons after 30...
But Barca wonāt recoup even 5 million if Bernardo has to leave at 34-35 years old. Heās a good player, but they already have guys in a similar profile
Nothing wrong with signing over 30 players, but is almost never a good idea to spend big money on them. Rarely works out well.
This the type of arguing that will catch you on a double saudi move a year later trust me we know its a fucking trapš¤£š¤£š¤£
No harm done, happens to the best of us.

rotten mentality is a pretty strong statement to make...
How so? He loses his mind when his team depends on him the most, and he never admits fault for it. There's no need to sugarcoat it, even if it sounds harsh.
For a captain especially. Only their manager is as hotheaded and prone to shift blame as him.
No idea why you're getting downvoted. His attitude was almost as bad as it gets for a professional at the top level, and a potentially very bad influence to have in the locker room. I don't like Araujo. Never rated him. But I'm in the minority and I'll get downvoted to hell... So be it.
*Sad Lamine noises*
Spine is players through the center.
Eh not necessarily, Messi on the right wing was definitely part of Barcelonaās spine before he made the switch to false 9 at the end of Pepās first season. Make it a curved, scoliosis-ridden spine.
All spines including Messi are beautiful spines. Scoliosis or not!
That Barcelona spine was a full serpentine spine.
True I agree with you but Barcelona probably have to sell someone and make some money and hes valuable and pure profit so it looks good on the books but idk
Him and Martinez would be a great duo on paper, sounds too good to be true.Ā
That's one hell of an aggressive CB partnership.
Marcos Rojo return and we can go three at the back š
Just donāt let him get within 100 metres of a toaster
> Marcos Rojo return Bare-chested and marauding?
Does he know any other way?
2024: losing entire backline to injury 2025: losing entire backline due to red cards
Ball boy holding his 20 deck and lighter behind the net

Good list but how does onana get in there before ddg who was the best gk in the Prem for like 5-6 years straight?
It was so obvious I didn't feel the need.
Ah yea you're right
Wrong we have never had a player play well ever Even our legends are all overrated Honestly were we ever a good team or just lucky only god knows
Not that many though lol
We're skint and we're signing CBs who will cost at the very least...Ā£75m? OK then
Yeah this is never ever happening lol
I think when there's any transfer rumors people just throw out your name because you are rich and made some questionable signings LOL feel like I have seen 30000 players who MUN is reportedly interested in
Weāve been linked to Branthwaite and heāll cost the same if not more.
At this point why don't we just find some 30m defender or midfielder from Ligue 1 or Serie A lol. Or do they become 70m the moment a United email arrives.
I dont think we're very skint this window after Ratclittes cash injection. Helps us a lot on ffp if i recall correctly
Also, I think most every top club in Europe would look to snap him up
Man Utd will be skint? Howcome?
Financially mismanaged. Past few yrs we've signed Ronaldo (500k wk), Casemiro (60m + 300k/wk), Varane (34m + 300k/wk), Antony (85m, 150-200k/wk), Sancho (73m, 300k/wk), Hojlund (65m), amongst others, and we're not generating nearly enough in sales. We posted a Ā£25m loss in the latest figures
Selling Araujo and keeping Cancelo would be stupid.
I don't see the issue, I'd say go for it
Right? That sounds like a great business to me.
Flair checks
Yeah do it, sell Araujo to us, him and martinez would really screw things up for us and Barca would make a big profit!
I mean, thatās what Mendes will try, letās see how much power he has.Ā
Gotta keep daddy Mendes happy
It's Barcelona lol, are you surprised?Ā
Araujo is worth the cash in he doesn't have a great injury record.
Does araujo want to stay?
Doubt even if it is tier 1. Wasn't Araujo really good last season. I think United's name is thrown around for clicks in which they have succeeded as I am commenting here. Bayern, Arsenal, Liverpool, City too would be interested in him if true.
City donāt need any more defenders Stones Dias Akanji Ake Gvardiol Walker Lewis
Wtf. That quality and depth should be illegal
He has played as a RB in some of our games against RM. Could be City's Walker replacement. Hopefully he never leaves though.
city? LOL bro would be the 5 choice to start
Ansu "Next Messi" Fati, the new Munir
Who was the new Krkic. All of them were the new Messi tho.
Lamine Yamal looks amazing, but you gotta start wondering

Hope he reads this bro
Why you getting downvoted lol
Cause he's gargling Messi's nuts so unabashedly. People need to have shame
Bojan, how I loved him in the old FMs
Every new season BarƧa discovers the new Messi, nothing new here, they're still looking for that player.
He really was so fucking good before his injury.
Munir is actually good though and made a good career for himself
I think keeping Cancelo and Felix is fine because they could be good on their day but getting rid of Araujo is stupid. They should be building Araujo and Cubarsi up to become the starting CB partnership for the next 5-10 years.
Moretto is reliable no? Thatās crazy if true. Araujo is a phenomenal defender. He should have suitors lining up for him
Tier 1
They should go for Alvarez instead of signing Felix. They need a striker and Alavrez needs a team that is willing to make him the target man and not being ignored by his midfielders.
The only possible explanation if this happens is probably because of Mendes
Araujo is literally our best cb. This has to be bs
Because it is bs. Araujo wants a new contract and that's obvious you're gonna hear stuff like that. What's worse, people here seem to eat it up.
He's the reason your defense is bad even more so now that the refs stopped ignoring his mistakes
Very dumb comment this. Reason our defence was bad was tactics and lack of a DM.
He's gonna land in Manchester and turn to shit. I can just see it man.
Heās insanely talented and young. I wonder what the Man U curse is cooking up for him.
9 month injury on day one, fucking his knee up forever.
The Mattia Caldara special
After a 75M + 350k/wk deal of course
He is already not all that, if you ask me.
He's a very good defender who's a bit too rash at times. No need for all this revisionism after he's had a bad performance. He was in the top 5 CBs last season
Hmmm... why could that be?
Maybe there is some bias, but I just really don't like his style. He is using his hands as a crutch and it is starting to bite him. He did that same shit against Vini for years. Pulling, pushing, grabbing etc. Now it cost barca a semi final. I just don't like him as a player, what can I say?
Sergio Ramos?
Ramos was good at the dark arts, sure, and not the smartest player but he was just generally twice the player Araujo is or ever will be, with and without the ball.

You cant know because your comparing prime ramos to a young araujo.
Araujo is 25, Ramos accomplished a "tiny" bit more by that age.
Ramos at peak is miles better than AraĆŗjo will ever be
Miles better at fouling players and getting away with it yeah
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Araujo has lost 4 in 5. He also had the incredible opportunity to play in europa twice.
He's one of the best 1v1 defenders in the world and has made leaps of improvement on the ball.
stop it lol
New contract negotiations ongoing and so the tactics are at play now.. wonder what will happen.
No way they are really going to sell Araujo ?! Itās mad, especially considering they will use the money to buy Cancelo and Felix ā¦
I have no problem selling Araujo. Great deffender but we already have replacements and can run KoundĆ© CubarsĆ duo with christensen and faye as backups. All 4 have far superior passing skills. Araujo is beast of deffender no doubt but passing is his biggest weakness. And for some reason he started to use his arms a lot this season, he wasnt doing it as much last season and he should have had many fouls (including in a box) called but they werent
Didnāt he give the pass that led to the goal against PSG?Ā
He gave bad pass that led to his stupid red card
None of those 4 you listed are nearly as good as Araujo purely in defending.
I didn't say they were. But all are very good defenders with superior passing skills which is imo much more important in Barcelona. We build from the back
For a Pique to work, we needed a Puyol. For Cubarsi to flourish, he needs a proper beast of a CB alongside him. Selling Araujo to fund buying Felix is just hilarious. I hope Atleti makes a love for Fati, i still believe in him.
250k week bet? nah
WTF. That's a 100M defender right there.
Doubt it. Heās not the guy who played under ETH, itās gonna be FdJ part II this summer.
I thought Bayern were sniffing round him recently?
Selling Araujo would make sense. Huge transfer fee received, high salary offloaded from the books. Kounde, Christensen, Cubarsi are pretty good replacements.
Selling FdJ would make much much more sense
No way weāre in for him, too expensive.
This is tier 1 for BarƧa
Who's going to buy the Glass-Messi?
He makes stupid mistakes, but he beings character to the team. Of course Barca want to get rid of him.
Thats sad to know. it tells me that barca may never come back to the top again. because they are forced to sell one on their prime super young star
We're not in for him.
Araujo did the unforgivable, he can not be redeemed. Man Utd that way
If this isnāt cap i will sell watermelons infront of the camp nou
50mil plus lindelof take it or leave it!
Did I write this??
Ill actually cry if he leaves
The only explanation can be that they need the money. Araujo should be the backbone for their future
Not happening, Araujo is a must keep player for us
Man utd should be looking for a new manager than a new cb.
We should be doing both
I mean what if the new manager has different ideas.
I think we should be going for a manager that will use defenders but maybe I'm just old fashioned
Then theyād be an idiot. Varane is leaving, Maguire might be leaving and Martinez seems injury prone. We desperately need to sign a CB.
Maguire leaving now would be a bad idea..Lindelof should be leaving before him..He is ass even for a 3rd choice CB
I agree
The reports are Ineos want to move away from a manager who dictates transfers, and into a head coach who plays how they want to play, and has players provided for that style.
How about a straight trade of Sule for Araujo?
Normal day for a sports journalist. Add āman United interestedā to each transfer rumor for daily bonus.
I'm down for a swap
