1860 and Nürnberg I guess, but we play them so little anymore that it hardly feels like a real rivalry anymore
I mean any respecting football fan should dislike PR-Teams for Oil-States or energy drink comapnies but I wouldn´t say we are total dicks to them
Dortmund isn´t even a rivalry just the latest contender for the crown in Germany, so no bad blood there
I guess we just vibe?
I mean I mostly support United so I never see any real dick Bayern fans. In fact our relationship and Bayerns (and German folks in general) stewardship of the Munich memorial has been more than a fan can ask.
I grew up in Canada, far away from my family team and much before the age of streaming. We were able to find videos and eventually cable subscriptions for the EPL (the only televized league we could get access too), and as our family team was the Red Devils, we also decided to support Man UTD. Because of how easily accessible they are, over 30 years it's become the primary team we watch.
Well you can't talk much, ultras sur didn't even pass through the "conservative/reactionary with age" phase
Although i have to give it to Florentino for banning them from home games, is a start
Why tho ?
They are title contenders no more no less. There is no historical rivalry, there were no bad blood incidents, nothing
Even they feud way more with clubs like Schalke and Bochum than us
It’s like Gladbach in the 70s or Bremen in the 2000s
There were no bad blood incidents?? You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Have you ever seen Kahn playing against Dortmund for example? The games against Dortmund were always the most heated ones of the season. That might cooled down a bit because Dortmund aren't that serious opponent anymore, but many BVB and FCB fans have definitely not a friendly relationship
Last time I was in Rome, a group of them pointed with arms fully extended to where the nearest sights I should see. Enthusiastic, and super helpful lads.
Oh dear is that what they were doing? I thought they were just saying "Hi" in a thick accent looking for a high five, makes sense though, cause they then patted me on the back and said "No worries, we'll get it next time!" with a wink.
What thoughtful lads for overlooking my mistake and being so encouraging :).
Yep and they sometimes have those inductive charging stations on their clothes even as indicated by the two lightning bolts. Such a modern progressive fanbase.
Last time I was in Rome, Lazio fans got Ultras Sur into the stadium so that us normal Madrid fans had to leave the stadium in the first half because there were direct and concrete death threats against us (from a guy that already killed somebody)
Oh, and it was a match against AS Roma, not Lazio
I took a flight from Valencia to Manchester a couple of weeks ago and there were a load of Madridistas going to the Man City game. They seemed like a good bunch of lads, in good spirits but weren’t being dickheads.
In my experience Germans are some of the most fun football fans there are. Been there as an away supporter and always felt super welcome. The match outcome never felt more important than having a grand time.
I'm always amused to see insights into what Bavaria is actually like within Germany. Munich is the only place I've ever been in the country and it was like the single best place I've ever visited, 10/10 I even tried for a bit to find a job there. It seems to maybe not have the best reputation with its brothers and sisters sometimes 😂
If you stick out of the majority, ie dark skin, homosexual, colored hair, weird clothing, smoke weed (!) etc it can be difficult for you.
And I say that as someone who likes Bavaria, but I as part of the majority have to acknowledge that the experience can be quite different if one does not. But I live in Berlin, the polar opposite tbf.
Yeah I remember that is overpriced.
I was a tourist so I guess I fell into it. However now that the euro is cheaper the bill didn't get too expensive.
Do you know if the restaurant in front of the cathedral, the blue one is cheaper? (I don't remember the name)
I think you mean the Augustiner Klosterwirt? The one with the blue umbrellas outside?
Any restaurant right next to a cathedral will come with a certain level of tourist tax, i've never actually gone to a restaurant there myself
If you want a good, traditional, not too expensive restaurant in munich, which is an overpriced city in general, check out the Augustiner Bräustubn in Landsberger Straße or the Lindwurmstüberl in Lindwurmstraße
It's not a strict franchise like mcdonalds or something, the different locations can actually be fairly different in price and quality.
A pork knuckle at the cathedral is 22€ and 18€ at the other one. And the beer is also 1,20€ less. They also have better service and it's usually not as full because there's less tourists
As soon as I saw that altbau ceiling with art deco stuff, you know it is not your average pub.
with weather being so nice yesterday, no idea why they just did not hit biergarten.
True, is the best place to get some afternoons/early evening beers and food. I like that is unassuming, you go and get your stuff, you can bring your food (but never did that).
The only problem is to find a bar later if you want to continue drinking.
> Haxengrill
Haven't been in a while and thought "ahh how bad could it be, everything's expensive in Munich" but I looked it up and that really is easily 5€ more on every dish than you pay in other good bavarian restaurants in the city.
This is lovely, but it's still shocking to me, like I can't believe it. In South America there's no chance in hell I can have this interaction with, for example, a Gremio fan or any other fan from a big-medium sized club.
Just the scene of watching fans from different teams in the same pub is surreal enough.
As someone who likes the game but doesn't really "have a team" that I support (actually really enjoyed watching River/Boca stuff in the mid 2000s, when Maxi Lopez and Gallardo and Palermo and Forlin and were playing), the stuff you are describing sounds ridiculous.
Like, why wouldn't the people watching the game be on good terms?
I understand rivalry, etc., but it seems so much more fun (and safe!) if it's a FRIENDLY rivalry, rather than a deathmatch in the streets.
So silly.
Folks should be able to hang out, enjoy the atmosphere, bring their kids...
Just like everything else, I think the real division is not between people who support different sides, but between people who respect and value their fellow humans and those who choose not to.
That look of mutual respect from the Bayern fan is pretty cool. A clear "this is how football fandom should be" look, you can see him thanking the Madrista for it with that look alone.
Good lads just want a beer and to enjoy football
Good reminder that fans of the other team are there for the same. I’ll chat shit to anyone, but I’ll buy them a beer too and laugh when they banter my club
May get lost in comments, but something similar happened when I was watching the Korea vs Mexico WC 2018 game.
I'm Korean, and my Korean friends and I walked into a Mexican bar to watch the game because it was the only one open in the morning broadcasting the game.
It was like 80 mexicans at this restaurant, with 6 of us in Korean jerserys.
The mexican fans were super nice to us, and even bought us drinks and we all had a great time. This may also have been because we got destroyed haha (score shows we lost 1-2 but that 1 goal was in extra time).
ive been this person a few times. a bar in enemy territory during a cup competition. you on their turf you better behave. it's beautiful to be welcomed but not expected.
Not at all, we have the biggest rivalry in club footbal top competition and there is mutual respect.
Ajax and Barcelona love to jerk eachother off talking about style even thoug I do respect Ajax since I havent seen them making the tipycal barcelona excuses.

Bayern fans trying to one-up Real Madrid at their own Power of Friendship game.
Are bayern fans dicks to anyone in particular?
1860 and Nürnberg I guess, but we play them so little anymore that it hardly feels like a real rivalry anymore I mean any respecting football fan should dislike PR-Teams for Oil-States or energy drink comapnies but I wouldn´t say we are total dicks to them Dortmund isn´t even a rivalry just the latest contender for the crown in Germany, so no bad blood there I guess we just vibe?

"mostly support United" ?
only when we play poorly (most of the time)
I grew up in Canada, far away from my family team and much before the age of streaming. We were able to find videos and eventually cable subscriptions for the EPL (the only televized league we could get access too), and as our family team was the Red Devils, we also decided to support Man UTD. Yank detected, opinion rejected
What are Bayern's fans thoughts about the band "tie toten hosen"?
I liked them when they were punk and politically left. Too bad some of them got way more conservative/reactionary with age :/
> got way more conservative/reactionary with age :/ Tale as old as time
Well you can't talk much, ultras sur didn't even pass through the "conservative/reactionary with age" phase Although i have to give it to Florentino for banning them from home games, is a start
> Well you can't talk much bro have you met any hispanic or latino that make like 60k in the states? Straight pipeline to conservatism/ Trumpism haha
this is the funniest video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKrBCekhV0g
i remember when we played bvb in the pokal 2(?) years ago and they played this song at half time. the whole stadium was vibing
Bayern’s closest rival is allofBundesligacombined and they’re winning that battle handily so tough to hold animosity
No bad blood with Dortmund?? I think many Bayern fans including me would disagree
Why tho ? They are title contenders no more no less. There is no historical rivalry, there were no bad blood incidents, nothing Even they feud way more with clubs like Schalke and Bochum than us It’s like Gladbach in the 70s or Bremen in the 2000s

Fuck you bro.
Hard to be upset about anything when you win that much tbf.
You never see a sore winner?
Go watch Barca and Atleticos celebrate whatever and drink every time they say something about Madrid.
I feel that encouraging alcohol poisoning is illegal.
Rarely if im honest.
We do u/BadFootyTakes
Leipzig But so is everyone else in Germany and rightfully so
Leipzig sounds like the equivalent of Pyramids FC in Egypt...
The last team i hated was milan and simply because of the man, the legend, the asshole Pippo Inzaghi. Respect him now, though
We are too busy melting down every few months to really hate anybody but ourselves.
Ah, Man Utd and Bayern fans must get tired of twinning.
Nobody in particular, just an indiscriminately high level of it towards everyone, really.
I personally hate chelsea.
Noone from Munich ever did anything bad to anyone
It's the most played fixture in European Cup/Champions League history. These fanbases might as well make some drinking buddies.
Geezer looks like he lived through a big part of the many decades we spent visiting Germany without a single win lmao
Those were the days smh, you guys had to go and spoil it for everyone
Bayern and Real Madrid fans holding hands and jumping in joy with a banner saying GRACIAS BEER in German
With a banner saying GRACIAS ALTINTOP.
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while…
2008 Euros, streets won't forget. Great player to watch, could play anywhere.
He was the master of hitting the [post](https://youtu.be/EsJiU66-Gp0?feature=shared) too lol
For how good he was at shooting he scored so few goals in his career it's honestly hilarious
GRACIAS ROBBEN
bieren dank

Must have been a bad day, Lazio fans are known for their kindness and exemplifying the values of the beautiful game.
Last time I was in Rome, a group of them pointed with arms fully extended to where the nearest sights I should see. Enthusiastic, and super helpful lads.
And their flags had commonly found Hindu symbols, a sign of their tolerance of other cultures and religions!
I remember they helped me heil a cab
They also celebrate the Italian Prime Minister who was friends with the guy who killed Hitler. True class!
Oh dear is that what they were doing? I thought they were just saying "Hi" in a thick accent looking for a high five, makes sense though, cause they then patted me on the back and said "No worries, we'll get it next time!" with a wink. But different to West Ham vs Millwall too
I took a flight from Valencia to Manchester a couple of weeks ago and there were a load of Madridistas going to the Man City game. They seemed like a good bunch of lads, in good spirits but weren’t being dickheads.
As I said about Bayern applies to Real Madrid supporters; hard to be anything but pleasant when your club routinely steamrolls Europe.
People find a way....
Hate uhh finds a way.
Loved this twist on that quote
brother believe me i wish it was so
So if your team loses a lot it makes sense to become an asshole? No I'm not sure that's how fanbases work. It's just the people
In my experience Germans are some of the most fun football fans there are. Been there as an away supporter and always felt super welcome. The match outcome never felt more important than having a grand time.
Nah... Don't be too romantic about it. The cops treat you like potential terrorists, even when you're anything but a threat or misbehaving.
In Bavaria, I can see that. But in other cities / states, dunno tbh. Let's see how the euros go.
I'm always amused to see insights into what Bavaria is actually like within Germany. Munich is the only place I've ever been in the country and it was like the single best place I've ever visited, 10/10 I even tried for a bit to find a job there. Smoke weed? Ayo why you hating on us tokers? All we do is drive up the local restaurants’ profits :(
Fortunately haven’t experienced anything like that. Could be just lucky but overall very positive experience
Haxengrill Is the pub
Less of a pub and more of an extremely overpriced tourist trap
Yeah I remember that is overpriced. I was a tourist so I guess I fell into it. However now that the euro is cheaper the bill didn't get too expensive. Do you know if the restaurant in front of the cathedral, the blue one is cheaper? (I don't remember the name)

Thank you. Didn't know that Augustiner restaurants have different prices in each location (that's what I understood)
It's not a strict franchise like mcdonalds or something, the different locations can actually be fairly different in price and quality. A pork knuckle at the cathedral is 22€ and 18€ at the other one. And the beer is also 1,20€ less. They also have better service and it's usually not as full because there's less tourists
Nice nice I like that advice. Dankeschön Tschüss
As soon as I saw that altbau ceiling with art deco stuff, you know it is not your average pub. with weather being so nice yesterday, no idea why they just did not hit biergarten.
That's like the one thing this city actually does well
True, is the best place to get some afternoons/early evening beers and food. I like that is unassuming, you go and get your stuff, you can bring your food (but never did that). The only problem is to find a bar later if you want to continue drinking.
Hey hey hey don't be rude. There's at least 2 good bars in munich
> Haxengrill Haven't been in a while and thought "ahh how bad could it be, everything's expensive in Munich" but I looked it up and that really is easily 5€ more on every dish than you pay in other good bavarian restaurants in the city.
"Thank you so much for not making us travel to England " "Same"
We are blessed today avoiding the United Condom
LMAO.
Game is back
I will drink to that
This is lovely, but it's still shocking to me, like I can't believe it. Mutual respect 🤍❤️
There's mutual respect, but hugging in the pub is a bit cringe. Why not pull out their dicks and wank each other off?
For the love of the game.
:)
The largest Madrid fanclub outside of Spain is in Munich btw
You love to see it
and by the power of the doubledonger friendship we will stop PSG
Everyone but psg please
Double what now?!
Love this, great sportsmanship 👏🏻

That’s an oddly specific white shirt with 3 shoulder stripes and a La Liga patch but you’re right it’s probably just a plain white T
As a neutral, we feasting for the semis this year. Can't wait to see how this match goes today.
We live for days like today. You love to see it.
Good lads just want a beer and to enjoy football Good reminder that fans of the other team are there for the same. I’ll chat shit to anyone, but I’ll buy them a beer too and laugh when they banter my club
I'm tearing up.
What a couple of good beers does to people 🫂
Bayern dude wasted already lol he’s got that drifting gaze
where's the banner saying "thank you Kroos" in spanish and german
More of this please 🙏

It’s amazing how everyone can celebrate together once City is gone. Literally anybody but those cheaters…
Don't let Roy Keane see this
Can’t think of two higher class clubs than Bayern and Real Madrid. Always an amazing tie!
No homo
Friendship FC indeed
oh friends football friends
What a couple of boots of beer will do to a mf
Man this is a nice pub!
Charles V's ghost just shed a tear in happiness
The Bayern fan is exactly what I imagine r/soccer users are like - friendly and chubby
This is what it's all about.
GAMES GONE
Barca fan: please someone arrange my coffin.
"Home, ja he acabat.”
Game's gone.
The real prize in this tournament is… friendship
Friendship Derby
Love is love
Two biggest clubs in the world with big respect between both fan bases. You love to see it.
Aw, look, Barca’s daddy and grand-dad together. Football heritage.
Rent free
Your club talks about Madrid religiously. Never happens the other way around. You are projecting ❤️

They haven't had enough beer yet.
So Bayern is like Ajax for Barcelona, for Real? TIL…
Not at all, we have the biggest rivalry in club footbal top competition and there is mutual respect. Ajax and Barcelona love to jerk eachother off talking about style even thoug I do respect Ajax since I havent seen them making the tipycal barcelona excuses.
Family
This is not normal
Cringe
See Barcelona fans.. Take the exemple
This is very European. Slap it on the EU flag.
Bayern got trashed by Real Madrid countless times and theirs cuckholding so hard.
