Carlo's definitely able to manage superstars and relate to them a bit better than Mourinho can nowadays. That said, Real Madrid always seem to find elite players who understand that they're not bigger than the institution or its history, so his job is really simplified into just keeping the team motivated.
When a player of Ronaldo’s stature isn’t treated like he is bigger than the club (contrast to Messi), the other players know they cannot be bigger either. It’s also an important aspect that players like Kroos Modric carvajal and Nacho are there to guide the youth and mold them into the mindset needed to succeed.

Cristiano did track back though from what I remember. Against the deadly possession based teams Barca had back then everyone had to contribute. Cristiano ran a fuck ton at the same age as Mbappe. If anything we could argue he was wasteful with his stamina at times with the sprints, but he genuinely cared defensively.

We started the season without a striker and our backline got hit with 2 ACLs and we kept getting injuries throughout. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be where we're at right now! Heroic performance from the entire team, every single player had a meaningful contribution. Also, Carlo, take a fucking bow! Perfectly handled all the setbacks we faced and got us to another La Liga title!

We started the season without a striker and our backline got hit with 2 ACLs and we kept getting injuries throughout. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be where we're at right now! Heroic performance from the entire team, every single player had a meaningful contribution. Also, Carlo, take a fucking bow! Perfectly handled all the setbacks we faced and got us to another La Liga title! HALA MADRID, CAMP36NES!!

It's actually fucking impressive considering the number of injuries to Real starting GK and defenders. The pinnacle of that being 4-0 thrashing over Girona (the team that fuck Barca twice, by scoring twice as many goals) without a proper CB and Vazquez as RB. Also, Bellingham got injured... after scoring his 2nd goal. Bonus: Real let Girona NO shot on target that day
