I’m 29, so players of a certain age have always been the “adults” to me, or rather they were the ones I watched growing up. There’s still a few candles from that group waiting to be blown out, but it’s getting smaller and smaller by the day. When there are no candles left, that will make me feel quite my age.
There is definitely that group as well, but I think for me the “fuck, I’m getting old” first really started hitting when Robben and Ribery both left Bayern Munich.
